Nate and Kara Buchanan catch up on 2016 and lay out their 2017 plans: a multi-month trip starting in Argentina through South America, the Middle East, Maldives, Sri Lanka, and India, returning to Nashville in June for a family wedding. They also got a DJI Mavic drone and surprised Kara's sister with an engagement party.

This video is long overdue. Sorry we've been gone for so long. But today we're finally going to catch you up on what we've been doing for the past month and what our plans are for 2017.
When we came home, the first thing we did was surprise my sister and our whole family when she got engaged.
We have left our safe place at Nate's parents house. We are going out to our storage unit to get a few things that we need. We. We didn't want anybody to see us.
So we're still in hiding because we can't ruin the surprise for our sister's engagement.
Here's our storage unit. All of our stuff. I'm standing on our dresser.
Comfy. Betta misses Thing.
We're hiding in the woods. They should be here really soon.
We have three cameras going. The GoPro, the G7X and the 16. See? Hopefully we'll capture it with at least one of them. We will wish you congratulations in the future so that we're the first. Congratulations, Cassie.
Yay. Cassie and N.
We each have one tree.
It's gonna happen right there. There's rose petals on the ground and candles and. And music. Oh my gosh. She's crying. Oh my gosh. It's happening.
Yes.
She said yes.
Oh my God.
She's so fright.
Haley. She's this way.
Oh my God.
Then a few days after that, one of my best friends had his baby. We spent the day at the hospital doing sitting there waiting on the baby to come.
And we got to meet a lot of other babies that have been born that we haven't met yet.
Lots of babies in our life. I would tell you what's next.
Kara wrote our plan out on a black napkin with a black down.
He can see it.
Let me know.
We played a ridiculous new game.
We ate way too much food over the holidays. Like way, way too much. And we deep fried some of it.
We tried to do a lot of exercising to make up for all the eating we were doing. And learned how to box with my D. December 2nd.
You might have me. That's nate ali.
She punches me a lot more these days.
We spent lots of quality time with friends and family.
One of the most exciting things that we did while we were home is we finally got a drink. The drone saga from like October. Ish. Hey, we've been trying to get a drone forever. We finally got the new DJI Mavic. Alright. Kara and I got a new drone. We finally got our hands on the Mavic we're planning on actually Filming later with it, but I'm about to take it for its first flight, and I figured I should turn the camera on in case it crashed. So this could be part of the story. Hopefully not, though.
Oh, it's working.
You.
Just like on the simulator last night.
How do you feel? Like our first day of drone flying.
Is going incredibly successful. It is, like, so easy to fly. I don't know about, like, actually getting good shots yet, but we've flown it and we haven't wrecked it.
I think we have a new favorite hobby toy.
We haven't hit any of these trees.
Yet, and we're so excited to start filming with it. Starting in South America.
Speaking of vlogging in South America, we're gonna fill you in on our future plans.
I think I'm gonna fill you in on our future plans.
I don't know many of the.
Our first stop is Argentina. We're going to be spending the first, like, three, three and a half months of the year in South America, visiting seven or eight countries there. Highlights include a cruise down the Amazon river, spending a week on a yacht in the Galapagos, Patagonia, trekking to Machu.
Picchu, stop by some Bolivia.
It's going to be an awesome start to the year.
Most importantly, it's going to be warm and hopefully a lot of.
After we finish South America, the plan is to go to the Middle East. We're planning on flying to Dubai, visiting Oman, Qatar, potentially some other countries in the region. And then from there, we'll be flying to the Maldives. And after the Maldives, we'll be jumping up to Sri Lanka and India. And that brings us to, like, the beginning of June when we'll be coming back home to Nashville because her sister's getting married. And then after that, we have no earthly idea. I feel like I've done good to get us from now through.
One of the reasons that this video is so late is because we literally decided where we were going, like, five days ago. Yeah, we had an idea. Like, we were between a couple different things, but it wasn't decided for sure until, like, five days ago that we were going to South America. So that's one of the reasons why this video is so late.
So technically, we are in the airport in Dallas on our way to Argentina right now. And so. So it's like today's vlog is really tomorrow's vlog, and we're filming this to post today.
It's kind of like in the middle.
The rest of today is tomorrow.
It's all very confusing.
So now we're gonna go back to the Centurion Lounge, which we'll see tomorrow.
Good.
Let's see if it recorded.
