38 Hours on Amtrak Overnight Train (WANTED FUGITIVE ONBOARD)

Kara Buchanan and her mother Carol document a 38-hour Amtrak Texas Eagle trip from Los Angeles to Fort Worth, Texas, staying in a shared roomette and eating onboard meals. The video mixes practical roomette tour and train-layout details (bathrooms, outlets, dining car, observation car) with travel anecdotes and comparisons to other Amtrak accommodations (family room, bedroom). The journey includes unexpected events: onboard medical attention earlier in the trip, a dramatic police stop in Alpine, Texas where a wanted fugitive was removed and inspected, and minor passenger conflicts. Nate makes a brief sponsor pitch for Surfshark VPN. The vlog concludes with arrival in Fort Worth, family time, and an epilepsy/medical update from Kara about focal seizures and medication adjustments.

Welcome to Union Station. I'm spending the next two days riding Amtrak's Texas Eagle from LA to Fort Worth, Texas. I think it's going to take about 38 hours. I'll be sleeping in a bunk bed for two nights in a row and eating all of my meals on this train. So we'll see how it goes. Nate and I have taken a lot of overnight trains all over the world on the whole spectrum of trains, from some of the nicest trains in existence to. To, let's just say, some other ones that were memorable in their own special way. That was really scary. I'm thinking this one will fall somewhere in the middle. This has turned into one of the craziest train rides of my life. Yeah, I'm quite uncomfortable right now. This actually isn't my first time taking an overnight train with Amtrak, but I am trying out a new room on this trip.
And as always, I'll take you along for the whole journey and show you all the things. The whole reason I'm going to Texas in the first place is because if you've been following along, that is where my neurologist is. Have my bajillionth follow up appointment there in a couple of days. So stay tuned till the end for a little epilepsy update. And also, of course, my sister and two nephews are there, so it's gonna be a good time. All right, all aboard. Actually, we don't board for a little while, but there is a lounge, so.
There we go.
W. The LA train station feels like a museum.
Oh, got run over.
How's my train? Hey, ladies. Hi.
Where are we going?
Fort Worth. Fort Worth.
Oh, you're on the wrong train. That train left already.
I'm just kidding. Oh, my God.
Thank you.
It's a peanut chair.
Can I go sit?
Can I go sit up there?
Are you gonna be okay?
Oh, Hannah's the bestie.
What we got? Well, unfortunately, I have to share this tiny room with this crazy lady. There's nothing I can do about it. I'm just joking. This is my mom, Carol has.
I get the nice trips.
My mom is spending the next 38 hours with me riding this train from LA to Fort Worth, and I think she thought we were gonna have a little more space.
Girls trip. It's gonna be so fun. So fun.
Can't wait. Wow. It fell on this trip. Oh, my gosh.
There's an ambulance. Okay.
So I had this vision of, like, setting up the camera and getting my mom's first impression of coming and seeing our room and Then introducing her. But it's been quite dramatic.
Let's just say there's a situation.
So, Kira, my God.
We've made a video with my dad in Vietnam. So you've met him. We've done lots of fun trips with Nate's parents. They came to Peru. We did that crazy Tonga trip last year. Surviving on a deserted island, swimming with whales. And I see a lot of comments that are like, what about Cara's mom? Why does Kara's mom not come on any trips?
Why don't you tell my you don't come on angel.
Well, I didn't like survivor things and I'm not a hundred mile walker or an ocean swimmer afraid of sharks. So Kara thought this would be good.
I'm having a blast. This scenery.
See, we're off to a little bit of a rough start. I. I get my. My extroverted, crazy adventurous side of my personality from my dad, but I get pretty much everything else from my mom. Like I am her in every other way.
Minus the traveling. But we're gonna have a great time. We are.
Did you show them our room?
We'll give you a full tour tomorrow after we settle in. It's already 10 o'. Clock. We're about to leave the train station. I think we should try to sleep. Have you ever slept on a train?
No. This will be it. I'll try to take it all in.
What trains have you ridden in your life?
I just rode a train to Watertown, Tennessee for the Christmas decorations.
But you didn't sleep on it?
No, it was.
Did you eat on it?
They had no food and no water and no drinks. We could have driven there in the car in an hour. But my husband thought, oh, the train. We can ride the train. Because you know, we hadn't ridden a four hour train ride. That was before Uber. And I'm like walking around this town begging for a ride back to Nashville.
Just begging straight.
Yes.
So I thought maybe I could redeem train travel for my mom. But it's not going so well. They only had Coke Zero in the lounge.
No.
Bleeding man at the entrance. We had to take the long way to get to our room. And then this is our room. It's gonna be great.
It's gonna be awesome.
It's gonna be so much fun.
So much fun.
38 hours.
We'll let you know.
My face hurts.
Here we go.
So you're going up there for the first time.
I'm gonna get all my stuff organized in my nice spacious bed and my little table over here. It's not the Maldives.
The only one I wanted to go on? I don't see anybody delivering our food.
No, not yet.
Scale of 1 to 10, how good is the mattress? Is there a mattress?
My name's Gabriel. I'll be your conductor all the way until our station stop in Maricopa, Arizona.
You know which time new conductors and engineers will take over for me.
Okay. So I'm currently sterilizing my pen. Ah, my broken pen now so that I can use it as a stir stick so I can make myself some bedtime hot chocolate. This is a like drink mix that Nate and I travel with to help us sleep with more jet lagged. But it also works well on.
Bumpy trains. That was timed well angle, mommy.
Sleep good.
Thank you.
All right. I think we're going to have our sleepy time tea. See how well we can sleep on this train and we'll show you around tomorrow.
Tucson, Arizona. Tucson is your stop. Please take a few minutes. Gather all your belongings, making sure you're not leaving anything behind. Please use the handrails as you make your way down the stairs to exit the train. Do not open any doors or windows. Ladies and gentlemen, let the attendants open on doors for you.
Why are they so loud?
I know it's weird that they do that.
Did you sleep at all?
Yeah. Did you?
Barely.
What happened?
The train was moving all night.
Here you go, mommy.
Thank you.
I think I was awake more than I was asleep last night. Probably fell asleep around 11. It's now 7:15. Yeah, that was rough. You think you slept though?
Yeah, I mean I would wake up at one time I thought this bed is. It's like the bus was leaning or going around a curve and I was sitting there like I'm thinking I'm gonna fall off. And I was trying to find something to hold on to. So I scoot away over there. It was the weirdest thing.
I had a revelation in the middle of the night. You know those things that they advertise for airplane sleeping where they like strap your head to the seat so like you don't like, oh, sleep like that. I feel like I could invent like a train bed strap that just holds you in one place and I think I would sleep, I'd use it.
They encouraged us to get off and get some fresh air here in Tucson. So here I am.
Seems like there's maybe 10 train cars. We're in the very, very back.
All aboard.
Goodbye t.
That's a first.
She pulls good. First time.
So our sleeper car is the caboose of the train. And the dining car is at least three cars out. So we are venturing over there for the first time.
Okay.
Almost got shut the door.
This is the observation car.
It's so pretty.
Yes. Should I move the baby a little bit?
But.
So we'll be here shortly. Okay, thank you.
How was your first journey across the trains?
Yeah. Almost fell into a table of guys and they said you shouldn't be drinking so soon. We're coming to breakfast. It's nine in the morning.
We've only had one coffee.
Cheers. Cheers. Look, we have real flowers and such a great view, Arizona.
Thank you.
All of our meals are included in our ticket. We get breakfast, lunch and dinner today and then breakfast and lunch tomorrow.
Really is the spot. Is it better or worse than we thought it would be?
It's much better.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Real quick, Nate from the future. Here it is 6am in Iceland. I've jet lagged. I just got off a flight. I'm going to be spending some time here with my parents. Who you'll be seeing a lot more of in the next episode. While Kara is finishing this train trip across the the US with her mod. Checking in, I just wanted to say a big thank you to the sponsor of today's video, which is Surf Shark. They've been supporting our channel for years and also keeping our digital life safe for years. If you don't know what surfshark is, it's a VPN which stands for virtual Private Network and it encrypts all the data sent between your computer and the Internet so that no one can steal your sensitive information. As travelers, we're more susceptible to this than normal people because we're always connecting to public WI fi. Apparently those networks are a great opportunity for hackers to take advantage of me. We've been doing this for years now and never had any, any issues, thanks to Surf. Sure. We like to think of our VPN as insurance for our digital life. You know, like you're going to be out there browsing the web and you just want a little extra layer of protection. That's what a VPN gives you. But insurance is never really fun to buy. It's just something that you have to do. The thing that does make it fun is you can also use a VPN to change the virtual location of your computer and get access to a completely new content library. If you don't already have a vpn, we highly recommend surfshark. It is the only VPN to offer one account for unlimited devices. We've been using it for years. Click the link below. You can also scan the QR code here on the screen if you're watching on your tv. Okay, now back to what I'm sure is a very interesting video that Kara and her mom are making right now.
Welcome to the daytime edition of our roomette. Much more space, much better. But my mom is sitting upstairs in the observation deck because she was still a little claustrophobic. I'm going to show you all the details of our room, show you all the things on the train. But first, let me give you a little history and context as to how I ended up in a roomette on this trip.
Okay, so the very first time Nate and I rode an Amtrak overnight train in the U.S. actually, our first U.S. overnight train ever. Oh, glad that didn't happen during my sleep. Back in 2022, we rode the Coast Starlight from LA to Seattle, and it was awesome. I remember the views were spectacular, and it was just all so new and exciting that we thought it was the best train ride ever. There are three different types of overnight rooms with Amtrak. The one that we booked the first time was the family room, which was massive. We had all kinds of space, and I remember sleeping pretty good. Maybe I'm just getting old. The second overnight room that we booked with Amtrak was actually at the beginning of 2024 when we rode the Empire Builder from Chicago all the way to Seattle in the winter time. We had the best time on that train. We booked the bedroom, which, in my opinion, is the best. You have plenty of space. Not as much as the family room, but you have your own private sink, toilet, and shower in your room. Complete privacy. You don't have to share with anyone. We were also on that train for, like, I think four nights, so it was a lot bigger deal to have to share stuff. Like, we're only on this one for two nights, and it's not, you know, we can do it. So since I had already experienced the family room and the bedroom, I just felt like I had to try out the roomette. So welcome to roomette number 11. The way it works is these two seats at night come together, and she added a little mattress and sheets, and that becomes my bed. And then, of course, my mom's top bunk just pulls down like that. If we wanted, we have this.
Very heavy table we could play games on, sip our coffee, enjoy the views. There are several, like, buttons and controls. Air control, game changer. The temperature was actually really nice in here last night. All the air comes out of this. And you can adjust how Much comes out. This is currently the only outlet that we've been able to find in the whole bunk room, which is fine for just the two of us because I have this adapter where we can plug multiple things in. But that would be a little weird if you didn't know your bunk mate. Like, I think there are lots of times when, like, someone else can book. I mean, maybe not.
I don't know.
Can you book a bunk room with a stranger? I don't know what music control means. Maybe that means we could turn down the volume of the announcements in the morning. I might have to try that. Our call button. Whenever we press that, our very, very sweet train attendant comes and helps us with whatever we need. I feel like at first glance, it's.
Like, wow, we have.
Okay, ladies, y next station stop. In approximately 10 minutes, we'll be Deming, New Mexico. If Deming, New Mexico is your final destination, please make sure you have all your personal items right.
Storage there actually is more than you think. Like, it really adds up in little places. Let me explain. Beneath the seats. My mom and I both brought, like, a small backpack that fits under here. No problem. We also both brought a tote bag. This has my changes of clothes, my toiletries. My mom did the exact same. Like I said, we are the same person. That was not planned. There's lots of towels. They also have little soaps and conditioners in here in case we showered. But we're kind of like, once a week when it comes to showering. I don't think we'll have that experience, but who knows? Maybe we'll go crazy later tonight. And we also have this door.
That has a lock on it, which I think helped us both sleep a little better after our journey last night. Night. I think that about does it for the rette tour you're sharing. I still think you can't beat the bedroom, all things considered. If you're already paying over $1,000 for a train ride, I feel like an extra 300 is probably worth it, Especially if it's multiple nights, but, you know, right down the hallway. Love this feature, by the way. Restroom number one and restroom number two.
Bathroom door. The setup is very similar to, like, an airplane bathroom. Tiny sink. We got soap, trash can, paper towels, a toilet that's super loud and obnoxious. Let me flush it. I think the other one. Yeah, this one has Febreze, so that's a nice touch. I've seen better showers, and I've definitely seen more showers. It's really not too bad. Nice Big mirror. They have more soaps in here for you to use as well. So nice. And it's a decent size. They give you some directions. I'm pretty sure other Amtrak showers you had to keep pressing a button in order for the water to keep going. And then one time the water actually ran out while Nate was taking a shower. So maybe I should try it out just to see how it stacks up to our first two experiences. Oh gosh, we're moving again.
It's weird that they've sent a text but they haven't made an announcement.
That's what I think's weird.
You'll be able to have a fresh air and smoke break stop once we get to El Paso, Texas. Looking at an on time arrival, approximately 3:00pm Mountain Standard Time today.
Okay, so I just went through this major emotional roller coaster. I think everything is fine. Our train attendant isn't coming. Nate isn't answering his phone. I don't know what to do.
I got a text from Amtrak saying that our train was terminating in San Antonio, which we arrive at 5am tomorrow. We were supposed to stay on this train until 1:50 tomorrow and it said they were providing a shuttle but it was going to take 10 hours to get from San Antonio to Fort Worth. None of this matters because she just told us that it's fine.
Where?
What's your destination? Fort Worth.
You're fine?
Really? We're still going to Fort Worth. Our train is 422 and that's what the email says. And why would I get a text and an email? I got two texts. Two different texts. I'm still not fully convinced but I'm just going to take a deep breath and assume that it's all going to work out. Cuz it's going to. It's going to be fine. I'm just anxious to get to my sister and my baby, you know, like this is a really fun, fun adventure but I'm mentally ready to be off of this thing at 1:51 tomorrow. Not on a shuttle until 8:00'. Clock.
Woohoo. We made it to Texas. Welcome to El Paso. You ever been here?
I don't think so.
We have a 25 minute smoke break here in El Paso. Funny observation. The last train that I took was Via Rail in Canada and they called the stops fresh air brakes, not smoke breaks but Amtrak. Just they're still going with the smoke break. There are lots of people taking advantage of it. Man, it feels good to be outside especially, especially after my gigantic bowl of chili. Texas crazy to think we're already in our destination state, but we're not actually going to be to Fort Worth until tomorrow at 2pm Like Texas is so massive. So massive.
Take a picture of the food.
So I learned.
Don'T start the story.
We know what comes first.
Get through the foods.
Cameron.
We had an Austin.
Can't wait to see.
I'm leaving Thursday, I think.
As my mom and I were hanging out in our roomette, all of a sudden she got a text from Verizon saying welcome to Mexico and a bunch of stuff about her data usage abroad. Turns out we were basically training down the Mexico border, so we thought we'd make our way up to the observation car to enjoy these unexpected views of Mexico. Not positive this is actually Mexico, but it's beautiful regardless. I had no idea this was going to be an international journey. I'm so glad you got the text. The cafe is open, not the seating. Welcome to the cafe. The cafe kind of feels like a gas station convenience store. It's got some random snacks, drinks and some microwavable hot foods. All this is for purchase, so I think it's mostly for the coach passengers whose meals aren't included in their ticket or for people like us who just want an extra snack. It is five o'clock now, so I thought I'd surprise my mom with her favorite cocktail for a little happy hour as we enjoyed the views of Mexico or whatever this is.
Look at how cute.
Happy hour. Look at these little bitty bourbons. Oh, they're so darling. I know. And before we knew it, it was already time for dinner. They told us it was community style seating for every meal and that we'd be sitting with other people, which hadn't happened yet. And this time he even seated us next to each other. But it was still just us, which I wasn't sad about. We loved our food once again and had the loveliest deep conversations as we continued riding through Texas. I genuinely can't fathom what this trip would have been like without my mom. What a special time this is.
I am so full. I think we're about to have an amazing sunset.
Okay.
People with like helmets and armor just got on board. Okay, so that is Texas police. It says Alpine police. We're in Alpine, Texas. Yeah, I'm quite uncomfortable right now. Like the guys in the helmets and the bulletproof vest got on the train, got off the train. They have a backpack and they're like inspecting the backpack. Our train attendant told us that someone got on board at the last station who was in trouble and Being.
Searched.
Okay. They have another bag. All right. They now have a suitcase and a backpack that they're inspecting. I feel like I'm like, a journalist right now, like, reporting the news. Like, what is happening? Our train attendant is, like, so chill, and she's just like, yeah, somebody got on. You didn't do anything wrong with us. He just did something wrong before, and then he got on our train and they're looking for him. I feel like I'm watching a real life true crime right now.
Okay. I wasn't sure how much of this I wanted to. To tell, because, honestly, the staff on this train has been beyond accommodating and sweet and kind and made us feel so, like, welcomed and safe. But this has turned into one of the craziest train rides of my life. I actually can't believe what just happened. So before the train stopped, I've just tuned out the announcements at this point. They've made so many throughout the day, I'm not really paying attention. They're usually about, like, the dining room car in the cafe opening and closing. And my mom thought she heard them say something about Texas police on the last announcement. And I was like, nah, surely not. Sure enough. Train stops and they make an announcement just like they always do, saying that, like, we'll be here for, like, 15 minutes. If you want to get off, have a smoke, stretch your legs. So we get off, and all of a sudden, how many of them were there?
Try. They're like 10 men wearing, like, bulletproof vests and helmets, getting onto the train car right next to ours. So we ask our sweet, sweet train attendant, Mayela, what's going on? And she's so chill about it and casual, and she's like, oh, I think somebody just got on that wasn't supposed to, and they're getting him off. But it felt like a big deal for, like, armed men to be getting on the train just for a guy who's not supposed to be here. Anyway, she got some more information. Next thing we knew, they have his backpack and they're going through it all. And then some more guys come, and they've got his luggage out of the luggage car, and they're going through that, and all these people are just standing right next to him. Like, who knows what could have been in there? And everybody's just standing around with their phones, including us. We've now discovered that he was a wanted fugitive. Like, somehow the train stations have all his information of these, like, flagged people. And turns out this guy got on the train in El Paso, which was like, four hours ago. And he's been on here ever since. The police have been following us. And they just now stopped us to get him off. Apparently, he's just been upstairs sleeping the whole time. We had no idea. We probably walked past him on the way to dinner.
We could have been sitting next to him. I don't know what he did. Our trade attendant doesn't know what he did. She said he likely had a rap sheet as long as her arm. And that's why that many people had to come get them off like it was a big deal. I will just never get the picture out of my head. There are people standing out on this dark sidewalk in the middle of whatever town we're in in Texas. People are wearing nightgowns. And we're just watching this, like, bomb squad go through this fugitive's bag who was on our train.
I said, let's get a little closer. Here are. And I walk up there. I look back, and she's still back there.
I didn't want to get any closer to the guy's bag. They were probably checking it for a reason. We will never forget this train trip. Honestly, I've been trying to be so positive. Because it is a great environment in some ways. And I didn't want to give it a bad rep. The people are so great. But there are some other. There have been some situations. Like the guy last night bleeding everywhere. And then a girl approached me today thinking that I was filming her when I wasn't. Told me she was going to sue me. And she said Amdrag was going to sue me. I mean, what a time it's been. Also, I know we gave our little roommate a hard time last night. And we were laughing a lot about how small it was. But we have to walk to and from the dining car. Through two different coach train cars. And just made me really grateful for our little safe space with a door that closes. Knowing that there could have been a wanted fugitive next to us while we were trying to sleep. In conclusion, big props to my Ella, our train car attendant. She has to deal with a lot. And she's been nothing but kind and smiling. She's legend. I still can't believe that just happened. One for the books.
Oh, wow. Love this idea. She said, I want permeate.
I will say, for a shared bathroom. And there being three of them in this tiny hallway. I haven't waited for the bathroom a single time. Like, it really feels like this is my bathroom, which has been really nice. Man, I still can't believe that just happened. I really hope I sleep better tonight than I did last night, but I felt surprisingly good. All right. Does anyone recognize this? Beijing Airways, our 100th country. I still have the amenity kit from that flight.
There's some light that comes in the door at the thought these would be handy.
All right. I hope we don't have any more police stops tonight. Good times. Making mems. How boring would it have been if we just flew all the way to Fort Worth?
Foreign.
Chicago. With introduction, I am your waiter, your chef, your food specialist, your expediter. I will be your friend for the duration of your trip.
Good morning. Day three on the train. Yay. Good news is I slept much better than I did the first night. A little confused because my ring sleep tracker thinks that I slept for 8 hours and 12 minutes with lots and lots of movement in between. Lots. Just kind of funny. However, my watch tracker thinks that I only slept for three hours and 15 minutes. So I'm gonna go with the ring. Thank you mommy for the coffee. Okay, I have a question for you. Would you have preferred to survive in Tonga like James and Christy or do this 38 hour train ride.
If you had to pick one?
Actually I was joking when we first got here and said the survivor thing had to have been easier than when I saw this room. But.
Even with all the excitement.
I think I would still choose this cuz I don't really like. Yay. Sleeping on ground with bugs and stuff like that. I mean, I liked it outdoors but you know.
Good. I'm glad that you preferred this trip. Thanks for coming with me.
I saw it.
I am so happy the lady with the cat is still here.
Wow.
It's crazy to see that half of our train is gone. We went from about 10 train cars to six. We're still the caboose though. All aboard. They all laughing I'm like a little kid.
I know.
It acts like a dog.
Sit back, relax, enjoy the ride. On behalf of the Chicago onboard service crew, your San Antonio train and engine.
Crew, thank you for traveling with us here at mtf.
All right, we are less than 10 minutes from our final destination of Fort Worth and. And our new train attendant, not Myela, who love has kicked us out of our roomette to clean for the next passengers who are about to get on a Fort Worth. However, she told us that we could come hang out in a bedroom until we get there. So let me give you a quick tour of what life could have been like up in the bedroom. Wow. Look at all of the space for activities.
You wish we would have been in here.
Well, the bed's a little wider.
But I was fine. I was with my pookie.
Yeah. So we'd have this whole bench during the day. This turns into a bed. At night. Mommy's bed still would have pulled down and been the top bunk. Like basically our room is just this. We'd have a storage bin up here. The bathroom would be just ours. Nate and I didn't know how good we had. And now we're in Fort Worth.
I'm sad.
Are you sad?
I'm so sad. It went by too fast.
I'm so happy you enjoyed it.
I loved it.
You do?
Thanks for letting me invite myself.
I'm so happy that you're sad. It's over. You're not running.
Oh, no, sis. I know. I'm glad I'm alive.
I'm glad you're safe.
It's all fun. But I would say I wouldn't take anything for these adventures. I really wouldn't.
It would not have been the same without you. I think I would have been a little more.
I think you would have called me crying. I would have been so mad. I would never have forgiven myself for not going with my gut and everybody saying, you don't need to go. She'll be fine. No, she needed her mommy.
Yeah, I did.
It was fun. I really loved my first training experience. Good. I really did.
Let's go get.
I don't want this room.
Next time though.
Go see our babies. Thank you, mate. Thank you. We made it. Here's my bag. Thank you. Someone very special is picking us up.
This is nothing. You should have seen how tall her bunk was. Hi, my little darling. Hi, sweetness.
I'm sorry we made you wait so long. Could we have just flown from LA to Fort Worth in approximately three and a half hours? Yes. But was this 38 hour roomette adventure way more memorable and slightly more life threatening? Also yes. At the end of the day, this is was a truly unforgettable trip with my mom. We made way more memories together than anticipated. That I'm certain we'll be laughing about for years to come. Love you, mommy.
Woo.
Welcome to my sister's minivan. I've spent the last 24 hours being a super fun aunt. IMO. It's been great being here with my sister and her husband and my mom and my two little nephews. But there was one not super fun part of my day today. My mom just drove me to my neurologist appointment, which was funny. It kind of felt like I was a kid again, but she wouldn't let me go alone. So a quick update on my epilepsy. Quick recap if you don't know. I had a really big seizure back in January. It was really scary. Turns out I've had epilepsy for the last several years. I didn't know. I have usually what's called focal seizures, which, yeah, aren't like the like grand seizures that you think of, but they're still scary and yeah, I want them to go away. They come with some side effects, like bad memory issues, fatigue, and just overall uneasiness. Epilepsy is no joke. Yeah. So I've been on medicine for the last few months, but we're continuing to have to tweak it here and there because I've continued to have these focal seizures. Unfortunately, that's been a bummer. But the good news is the last three months, this might be tmi, but the focal seizures have come during the week of my cycle. So in a weird way that's good news because now that there is a pattern. For the first time ever, thanks to my medication, my medications removed all the other focal seizures that I was having throughout the month and now it's just these cycle specific ones. There's a name for it that I don't remember.
Yeah.
So now there's another medicine that I'm going to try just during my period days and hopefully that means I'll be seizure free forever. That's the plan. But if not, we'll just keep taking it a day at a time. Obviously I have ups and downs still. Like there are some days where I'm just sad that it's happening and I wish it would all go away and other days that I'm super thankful because it could be worse and I'm in great hands. I'm thankful that the medicine's working, thankful that we even know what it is. Like there was a long time that I didn't know what was going on with my body. So lots of things to be thankful for. And the number one is that I get to come see my cutest little boys every time I go to the doctor, which is great. One little hump I have to figure out right now is where I can get my medicine before I leave the country tomorrow. That's kind of an issue that we've never run into before, but we'll figure it out. It's gonna be great. So I think that's all the updates from my end. I had all intentions of continuing this video. Like, we got to the house, seeing the boys, and then going to the appointment with my mom and filming that. But honestly, we were just having too much fun yesterday. And then today I was just such an emotional wreck that, yeah, I didn't have the capacity. So there's a little real life for you. Also, I'm sweating because Texas is hot. So I'm gonna get out of the minivan now, go have me some food, soak up this family time. Thank you for watching. Hope you enjoyed this adventure with my mom. It was not what I thought it was going to be, but it was memorable. Thanks for coming with me, mommy. See you in the next video.
Passengers have left themselves here before. Once again, Alpine in a few minutes.
That was so loud. Cheers, mommy. Thanks for being in my video. I'm not sure I've expressed how much my mom hates attention and hates being on camera, but you're being a good support. My mom is low key, one of the funniest people ever. Hopefully I've been able to catch her.
A little bit of that.
It's been an adventure. Okay, so we weren't here. Kevin, two minutes. She told me to be her bodyguard. So the whole time I'm thinking. So I'm like googling what's around. Cause Kara said, we'll just walk over. I pulled up the mat and there was like a jail info center. Then I thought, okay, so there's probably a prison around here. Sure enough, there was.
But that wasn't all. It was one thing after another.
