A short travel-vlog style YouTube video (created/uploaded by Nate Buchanan) documenting a half-day in Melbourne. The presenters, Nate and Kara Buchanan, rush back from a road trip, check into a hotel, and spend an evening exploring Melbourne landmarks (Federation Square, Chinatown) and trying local fast-food versions of Australian items (meat pie, McDonald's cones). The tone is light, conversational, and observational, with frequent on-the-street remarks and casual food commentary.

We got coffee to go this morning. Because we have three and a half hours back to Melbourne.
We won't be driving back along the Great Ocean Road. We're taking the inlet route because it's way faster. And this is our only day to get to explore Melbourne.
No more Great Ocean Road.
Stopping for a super healthy lunch at the Red Rooster. All right, Kara, tell us about this super authentic Australian meal that you got.
What you see right here that I'm eating is called Mas potatoes with gravy. It's quite delightful in this box here.
These are called Frenchy Freeze.
You have them for lunchy.
I've been dipping my Frenchy Freeze into the bravi.
Absolutely brilliant. However, I've not tried my Rooster semi yet.
I'll let you know how it is.
These are the ice cream cones that they serve at McDonald's in Australia.
Kara's gonna be really excited. Kara.
Slightly better than the vanilla cones they serve in the U.S. yeah.
This is beautif.
We are about an hour outside of Melbourne and I'm booking our room for the night.
We made it back to budget.
Haven't crashed it yet. 10 more feet.
Vehicle returns here.
Just dropped off the rental car and Kara went to go check us into our hotel. Hopefully that went smoothly because we booked it by less than an hour ago.
We made it to our hotel that we'll be at for less than 24 hours.
We only have tonight to explore Melbourne. But first.
Wake up, Nate.
Wake up.
I'm awake.
Come on, it's time to go.
Yeah, I'm ready.
No, you're not ready. No, you're not. Get up. Let's go.
Love you.
Are you mocking me? I'm sorry I do this to you every single day. Don't worry, I'm getting it. I'm getting, though.
We just got some suggestions by the mate down in the lobby. He told us the things to do tonight in the city.
We're going to Federation Square first, and then from there there's a free tram that circles the city. So we're just going to jump on that and see where it takes us and hop off if anything looks interesting.
Sam.
I think we made it to.
What are we in Federation Square?
We think this is it. We don't know for sure. On to the next place. That's depressing. That was like, less than $2 in Vietnam.
An extra large is $26.
What?
Oh, it does smell so good, though.
I kind of miss it.
We've been having some Asia withdraw. We thought we would check out Chinatown. Feels like home.
And now I'm really hungry for some reason. Oh look, there's even a 711 on the corner.
Aww.
Just like Asia.
Sam.
Sa.
This is the only food that people told us is Australian. A meat pie.
We probably.
Should have picked it out from somewhere besides the 7 11.
That just wouldn't be right.
Smells like biscuit.
Looks delicious.
Whoa. Good.
It looks like a mix between a pork bun and American chicken pot pie.
Meat pie was a hit.
I feel really bad that we picked our place to eat as the 711 tonight when we were trying what people told us was a traditional Australian meal. But I will say if the 711 version of meat pie was that good, the real version is probably amazing.
Colleen, Aunt Jenny and Uncle Nelson, I love your video so far. It has made my day.
Jet plane. Don't know when I'll be back.
Our camera team decided to do a short interview with some local Melbourne Knights. Melbournes.
Are we in it?
Melbourne?
I'm very confused about these no standing areas that mean no parking. Why not just say no parking?
When in doubt of what to shoot, just copy the guy with the monstrous camera lens. Someone explained to us why McDonald's is called Maccas.
Kara's been feeling like she needs some exercise recently.
I don't want to get to Everest and then realize that my stomach can't handle.
She is taking this exercise thing really seriously.
Ready when you are.
