A vlog-style YouTube video by Nate and Kara Buchanan describing their departure from a Holiday Inn after several days of work-focused downtime, and a multi-day journey toward Patagonia. They travel from Calama (three-hour bus to the airport) to Santiago, then Buenos Aires, then Ushuaia; the clip covers waiting at bus terminals and airports, checking in, lounge access via Priority Pass, receipt of a Charles Schwab debit card at the hotel, brief safety cautions about displaying a camera in Chile, and their travel/work routine (long work sessions to prepare for upcoming adventures).

Hola. Buenos dias. Last time you saw we were getting here to the Holiday Inn. And reality is today we're leaving.
It is three days later. We did not vlog for an entire three days. But don't worry, you didn't miss much because we didn't do much except for work.
We stayed in our room with this awesome view three days in a row. We went to the same sushi restaurant for lunch three days in a row. We did some exercising and we got really ahead on some work because we have so many adventures the next three months. It's gonna be crazy. So we really wanted to take these three days to just relax. We didn't even go to the beach.
Relax is the wrong word because yeah, there was a beach outside of our wind was a pool at our hotel. We didn't go to either one of them. And like two days ago we worked from like 9 in the morning till 2am and then yesterday from 9 to 1.
We really enjoy our work. We're not complaining, but it's just necessary to keep doing what we're doing when we have all these crazy adventures coming up and we're not gonna have time to do stuff on our computer.
So today we start our journey to Patagonia. It's not exactly gonna be the most efficient route there because it's gonna take us three days to get there. So today we fly from Calama in Northern Chile. We're kind of almost where we are. We have a three hour bus ride to get there. And then we fly to Santiago, we stay there, then we fly to Buenos Aires. The next night we stay there. Then we fly to Ushuaia in Patagonia. So we'll be there. We'll just be traveling for the next three days.
Three days of travel and really no plans. Great news.
Do you have it in your wallet?
Yeah, can't really? That's not something I can exactly show on the vlog.
Something came in the mail.
Our Charles Schwab debit card was shipped to our hotel. So now we can get money out of the ATMs free of charge. Again, just like, as a tip for anybody who's thinking about traveling a lot internationally, the Charles Schwab High Yield Investor checking account is a mouthful, but it's one of the best cards that you could possibly have for like exchanging money internationally.
Alright, let's go.
That was a very long intro. I'm sorry.
Bye. Beautiful view. Bye. King size bed.
Time to go. We are checking out.
We found a shared taxi to take us to the bus terminal. We think Hope.
We got to the bus terminal way too early, but thankfully it was much easier to get here than it was to leave last time. That was a nightmare. So we just got our tickets and we're gonna be a little discreet for the next 30 minutes with our camera while we wait. Because even though we felt so safe the whole time we've been in Chile, so many people have told us to not have our camera out. Just random people have warned us to put it away. And today our hotel lady told us to be careful at the bus station. So we're gonna put it up.
All right. We are on a bus. It is 12:06. We were supposed to leave at 12:15. We're not 100% sure this bus is going to Kalama. But when I asked the guy, he pretty much threw our stuff on the bus and said, vaminos, vaminos, which means let's go in Spanish. So this bus has no, like, markings on it that's going to Kalama. But the guy seemed pretty confident that this is the bus we were supposed to be on, even though we weren't supposed to leave till 12:15. Maybe that's what the lady at the tickets to office was trying to tell us earlier when we couldn't understand.
Guess we'll see in three hours.
Well, we just got off the bus in the middle of nowhere. I have no idea where we are. I was looking at Google Maps. We didn't. We hadn't quite made it to the terminal, but the bus stopped and we were closer to the airport than the terminal was. So we got off. This man looks like he wants to take us to the airport. Cuantos cuesta?
He said he charges 5,000 to go to the airport. So we're in there.
Perfecto.
That took about two seconds. We were here way too early at the dreaded airport that we were stuck at for hours the other day. But we got to listen to baby got back in the car. So.
All right, so there are three restaurants in this airport. Two downstairs and one upstairs. The one that we sat at last time we were here and got the french fries was closed. The other restaurant doesn't have WI fi and the upstairs restaurant doesn't have any of the food that I wanted. They were just out of all of the good things.
So we've created a stand up desk at an empty rental car counter behind Kara or behind the camera. Right now is the restaurant where we ate it last time. So we still have the WI fi password. We've still got probably an hour and A half or two hours before we can, like, check our bags to get on our flight and go to the lounge. So we make the most of our time by knocking out some work here and standing up. Healthy legs.
It's been a nice couple hours, but we are gonna go check in for our flight now.
Going to the lounge, hopefully. Right?
I think we're the only ones here. And we haven't had lunch. I had Doritos at 4 for lunch, so I'm. Now I'm going to find the food. First things first.
So we were able to access this lounge using the priority pass that we're giving away in the giveaway. This lounge is not a very good example of what you'll get if you win because the food here is pretty average and mediocre. But there are much nicer lounges that you can access with the priority pass. So don't forget to enter to win the giveaway. We'll put a link down below.
Sa.
Sam.
We're back in Santiago.
Feels weird knowing what to do when you get off a plane.
I feel like we've been in Chile forever.
Almost two weeks.
I love here. Not complaining.
Now we're going back to Buenos Aires. It's crazy that we've been traveling for a month and we've only been to three countries.
That's our bus. We just missed it.
Next bus showed up in like five minutes.
Can't remember what else I'm supposed to say.
Foreshadowing.
That's wall. Make it look like a window. Oh, we do have a window. Look at that view of the bus station. It.
