This is a short travel vlog by Nate and Kara Buchanan documenting their journey from Bangkok to Koh Tao using an overnight bus and a morning ferry. The transcript covers hotel pickup, an overnight bus ride with transfers and early-morning waiting at a pier, the ferry crossing, arrival on Koh Tao, and immediate impressions (coffee, pizza, beach, diving plans). The vlog emphasizes travel logistics, light humor about minor mishaps, and enjoyment of Thai coffee and the island scenery.

We are starting right there in Bangkok, taking an overnight bus down to Chomsin and then taking the ferry over to Koh Tao.
Quick snack before jumping on the bus.
Spring rolls to go.
They told us that the bus would pick us up at our hotel. Which apparently meant that guy in the blue stops by your hotel and then you walk and you stop by some other people's hotel and you pick them up. These girls. And now we wait while he goes and gets somebody else. Our group is growing, still growing. Met up with a much larger group of travelers.
There's a bus. Apparently not ours.
It appears to be time to go.
All right.
To be positive, I can always count on you. It's only eight hours.
The only thing I'm worried about is I drank an entire bottle of water and I'm going to the bathroom.
I was told there would be a bathroom.
I think can't even touch the ground.
We were picked up from our hotel at 5:50. So only took a little over an hour to get on the road.
Our bus just dropped us off on the side of the road.
Five in the morning?
No, it's about 2:40.
It's only 2:40.
I don't think we're there yet. I think maybe we transfer the buses. According to Google Maps, the pier to take us to Koh Tao is here. And we have been dropped off here.
The yellow bus has appeared. Kara and I are working as a team. She's going to get a seat. I'm taking our luggage.
And that's what time it is.
The ferry is supposed to leave at 7. We've been here since 4. I miss airports, airplanes, lounges.
Yeah. Sun is coming up.
Last night we boarded the bus here in Bangkok. We're leaving the pier to sell to the island of Koh Tao. That one.
We made it.
We made it to the island. Can't check into our resort until 1pm and it is 11. So we are sitting at the restaurant to get some coffee until we can.
Go to our room.
We ordered a pizza.
Coffee and pizza. It's been a weird morning.
It just seemed right.
We both fared okay on the boat ride, but other people, not so much.
Every time I woke up, there was a beauty.
It was gross, it was sad.
I'm glad it was fun.
I think I slept for maybe like four hours last night. Two hours on the bus and two hours on the boat.
Might have a little bit longer than that.
Want a coffee? Sure. Thank you.
Thank you. That was awesome.
That is the best coffee I've had in a long time. It's better than McDonald's. Check out our view.
I have a good feeling this is not going to be our last pizza.
That's what you call basic.
I like it.
Nate already broke something. We've been here for five minutes.
Fell straight from there.
I'm gonna say it wasn't my fault. Let's see if they agree with that. I guess we should go tell somebody.
Got a swing on the beach.
It's so pretty. The original plan was to go to Myanmar this week. However, the biggest thing to do do there is more temples.
We were a little templed out after anchor wise, so we decided that we would rather go diving than go see more temples than me. And Koh Tao is one of the cheapest places in the world to dive. And it was only like a.
15 hour bus and boat journey. So, so close. Why not come? It's technically in Thailand, so we're still in the same country. Which is weird because normally when we're traveling we're changing countries usually have to.
Get new money and learn a new language, new food.
Now we're still using the bot saying kakunka, sawadika aroimaka.
That's how we know we need to.
Learn how to say yes and no.
That's hello, thank you and very delicious.
And that is probably a butchered version of all three of those words.
I really like the sun. That's a famous rock because that guy touched it. Yeah. How much I missed these. Yay.
Thai coffee is the best coffee. I don't know why.
Because they use sweet condensed milk.
That's why.
