A YouTube travel vlog by Nate and Kara Buchanan documenting their trip from Brussels to Paris. They hurried to catch a FlixBus and pick up food, Nate lacked a working phone (broken since Rome) so they briefly separated but reunited before departure. The bus trip (normally ~4 hours) took about five hours due to a police stop roughly 30 minutes outside Paris where officers inspected luggage and passports. On arrival they walk to their Airbnb, eat inexpensive crepes/"crepe panini" (~$8 with a drink), mention FlixBus amenities (charging ports and Wi‑Fi), and plan to visit the Luxembourg Gardens; they note Paris as their 55th country visited.

Our bus for Paris leaves in an hour. I should be packing, but going to get a waffle.
30 minutes til our bus leaves. Totally worth it.
All our stuff is packed. We are leaving Brussels and taking a four hour bus to France.
I'm gonna miss the waffles here in Belgium, but I'm looking forward to the croissants in Paris.
We have about 10 minutes to find our bus in this huge stat. We should buy a snack by the bus first.
Then we should buy a snack.
So a minor detail that we have not shared with the vlog is that Nate's phone has been broken since we left for Rome. So we've been sharing a phone. We got to the bus station and realized that we did not have any food. And last time we got on a train without any food and skipped lunch. I was not a happy camper. So Nate ran up to get us some sandwiches. He doesn't know where the bus is and he doesn't have a phone. So I can't call him and tell him where I am. Might be going to Paris without him and without any sandwiches.
We'll just wait here.
I guess we're learning. We actually picked up food before we got on the bus this time.
Our bus leaves in six minutes.
He's a smart guy. He'll find it, right?
Hopefully it's not at the expense of missing the bus. I have three minutes.
I hope he gets me a good sandwich.
Which one?
He's coming.
I got it.
Two minutes. Good. Yes. Thank you. Thank you.
I think our bus is being pulled over by the police.
But mostly on the border. They check. They check their passports. Only today it was no longer.
We are officially in Paris, our 55th country of France.
Flixbus was like, really good. They had charging ports, which means that Cara got to edit the whole time and they had wi fi. So I got to do some work.
Yeah, that was one of my favorite transportations since we left for Rome. Like, it was so nice.
It was all going super smoothly. And then probably like 30 minutes outside of Paris, a police car pulled the bus over. And then all of a sudden there were eight police officers. They told everybody to get off the bus. They want us to see your stuff, everybody's passports. You had to get your stuff out from underneath the bus, lay it out. And then the police went through all of our stuff.
I feel very safe.
It makes me feel safe. Yeah, it was. It was a bit annoying.
It took like 10 minutes. Yeah, it was. It was quick. If you'd have told me everybody's getting out and we're checking everybody's stuff. I would have thought it would have taken an hour, but we were literally there.
Yeah.
For like 10 or 15 minutes.
So that made the bus ride a little bit more interesting. Yeah. Now we're here. I think it's 4 o'. Clock. So it took about an hour longer than it should have to get here. Five hours instead of four. And now we were gonna figure out how to get to our Airbnb.
It's super sunny and weather like 75 degrees. 100 sandwich shops on the way in. So excited.
Need a baguette.
Now we just have this mixed minute walk to our apartment.
34 worked.
Oh, it's bigger than I thought. Come on. This will be fun. Oh, gosh.
I'm getting so claustrophobic.
Can't believe that. Oh, seriously, I feel like I'm gonna have a panic attack.
We're closed.
Press the button.
We need to close the door.
Oh, it's locked. Oh, we're stuck.
Twice. My backpack's gotten caught today. Okay, here we go.
It's really hot in here. We're moving. I would seriously have a panic attack if it stopped.
I think I'd feel better if I took this backpack off my back.
I don't think that would help me feel any better.
Please help me. Please help me. Please help me. Please help me.
Yes.
Push hard. Hard. Nice. Get me out of here.
Oh, it looks nice.
Kind of a nice house.
Yeah.
Whoa, check out the.
First things first. French food.
So Nate found this crate place online. It was like a five minute walk from our place. It is such a good deal. And the guys just making them out front. We got a crepe panini, which is a big smushed baguette in the grill, and another dessert crepe, all for like $8 and a drink.
I'm loving Paris so far. I thought it was gonna be really expensive. This is awesome.
That place was delicious. It was cheap, and it's close to our place, which means we'll probably be back. Also, I started the day with the waffle and I'm ending it with a crepe. But it's not over yet. The sun is setting and our place is like 10 minutes away from the Luxembourg Gardens. So we're gonna go try to fit those in before the sun goes down.
And we need to walk off all the crepes.
You can go anywhere and everywhere you wanna go. You can go anywhere and everywhere you wanna go. You can go anywhere and everywhere you wanna go.
I'm sad. It's 8, 47.
Good thing we still have four days here.
You can go anywhere and everywhere you wanna go. You can go anywhere and everywhere you wanna go. You can go anywhere.
That's probably very offensive.
No, it's me trying to be French is what they say. I'm trying to speak French.
Let's do one more where you're not as offensive. No, I think it's better. Oh.
