A vlog-style travel video by Nate Buchanan documenting a motorbike trip to Bua Thong (the "Sticky") Waterfalls near Chiang Mai. The hosts ride about two to two-and-a-half hours, encounter a police stop (no international driver's license), and reach a somewhat crowded site where the unique mineral-coated rocks allow visitors to climb the falls. The footage emphasizes the falls' "sticky" texture, sensory impressions (sandpaper/sponge-like grip), brief slip incidents, and mixed recommendation given the long drive.

I cannot believe Nate talked me into running another motorcycle.
It's gonna be totally worth it. Today we're heading to the sticky waterfall, which, from what I hear, is not exactly on the beaten tourist track. So I'm pretty excited about it. It's supposed to be these waterfalls that are sticky. They have some, like, weird mineral deposit that grows on them. So no algae grows. And they feel like sponge, like. And you can literally climb up the waterfall.
They're just a two hour motorbike drive away.
Aren't you excited?
Not as excited.
Here we go. Yay.
That was long. Like, just shy of two and a half hours. We did have a couple detours. We missed the turn and got stopped by the police.
We've been warned that that might happen.
We don't have an international driver's license. Apparently you're supposed to here in Taiwan. Luckily, we have a little bit of prior experience with bribing officers of the law in other countries from our trip that we made to Mexic last year. So I had strategically left a small amount of cash in my wallet, and he was happy to take it from me and let us go.
That's all it takes.
So we made it. Are we gonna get some lunch?
This is what's happened the whole ride.
This place reminds us a little bit of the restaurant where we found a bunch of ants in our food. So cup of noodles.
It is.
Slightly more crowded than I read. It would be a lot.
Not exactly the hidden gem that we were hoping to find.
The start of the Sticky Waterfalls. Looks like you can climb all the way up.
It doesn't feel that sticky.
You're supposed to be able to walk straight down this.
This could go in the bloopers.
This is crazy. It, like, just messes with my mind so much. Like, this would be so sweet.
So co.
Sa.
The camera's getting wet, so we're switching to the GoPro.
Up we go.
That's a good one.
It goes to sticky. I think I can climb right up.
This is awesome.
I'm sitting on, like, a 45 degree angle on what should be a crazy slippery rock. And so much grip.
It's like.
It's like sandpaper or like a hard sponge.
Sam.
Laugh, laugh.
Laugh.
Laugh.
Laugh.
Laugh.
Laugh.
Laugh.
Laugh.
Right at the top.
We made it. Do we slip? I slipped a couple times.
Small slip. We're climbing up a waterfall.
Insane. I have a hard time, like, highly recommending that people come because it was like a two and a half hour drive. But the waterfalls were super awesome. It totally messed with your mind like you'd be stepping, and you felt like your feet would just. Should just be, like, flying out from underneath you. Time to make the trek back.
I was so nervous. Our favorite coffee shop was gonna close, but we made it.
