Turn up your phone. Turn up the phone and take the nearest flight.
And you get to find. And you get to find. Don't be scared.
Don't be scared.
We just made a quick pit stop at Penguin beach because how can you pass up hanging out with penguins, especially.
When they're five minutes away from your final destination? The main reason we came to Cape Town for a second time was to go on one of the biggest adventures of our life, cage diving with great white sharks.
And that's what we're on our way to do now.
I'm Nathan.
Hi, I'm Corinne.
Stick your hands out the shore cage or jump out of the shore cage or do anything like that, but nothing's.
Gonna go wrong, right?
We just signed our life away. We're going to get on the boat. I can't believe we're doing this. Cannot believe this is happening.
I've been waiting to do this for like 16 months since last time we were here and the weather was too bad for us to be able to go out.
Yes.
How's it going? Give me yourself. I'm Nate.
Jason.
Nice to meet you.
Nice to meet you.
Nice to meet you. Okay, you guys booked at the African show?
Okay?
Yes.
All right. You guys come to cover.
Oh, fantastic. This little piece of metal is all that's going to be protecting us from the great whites.
Those openings sure are big.
The sharks are bigger. Just shows you how big a baby shark. It was, like, super foggy on our way out here this morning. Now the sky has cleared. It is beautiful, sunny and almost warm.
If I get eaten by a shark, at least I'll be tan.
Don't be scared.
Sea's not looking too choppy at all, so it should be a nice ride out.
Yeah.
Other than that, I'll give you a thorough briefing on the cage and how the diving and everything's going to work when we get there. But for now, just enjoy your ride out with us. We've got some snacks and drinks over here. If you hungry or want something to drink, just help yourself. And yeah, I think it's going to be a nice day. They did see some sharks this morning, so let's fingers crossed that they're still hanging around to entertain us this afternoon.
Don't be scared.
We just spotted sill island conditions actually.
Better than this morning. We sat in thick fish fog this morning. We had the sharks, but we struggled with the fog.
It's beautifully calm out here.
This is as calm as it gets. You guys have. You guys have chosen a good day.
It could Take anything from a couple of minutes to hours for sharks to come around the boat. Anyone's guess what they're going to do. But we want to get you guys ready just in case the shark does come up pretty quickly, so we can get you in the cage as soon as possible and hopefully to see them from the water. Basically how it's going to work is we're going to get four people suited up in wet suits. When we see a shark, we only. Only then do we get you in the ca. So we'll put a weight belt on you as well. Get a hoodie, a mask, and then we'll put you in the cage.
I think we're going first.
Are you going with me? We're both going.
Yes.
We're going without you. All right, what's going to happen when I hyperventilate underwater?
I don't know if I can save you from that. Be trapped in a cage.
You used to play this game.
I think that banging is attracting the sharks.
But never again. But never again. That was the last, last time.
Now you got a fighter. You got a fighter. Don't be scared.
Don't be scared.
There's the death trap.
Is that a shark head in the cage or is that a tuna head?
Whoa.
Oh, my gosh.
So massive sharks are here. Time to get in the cage.
Okay, can I get you away but.
On you as quick as possible?
Okay. All right. Stand. I get. Okay.
All right, cool.
So you ready?
Okay.
You'Re.
Get your bum on here and your legs over, and then you want to get your left foot to touch that second ball. Lower yourself down to your left foot in that second bar. Once you can touch that second bar, you're good. Yeah.
There you go. Well done. That's it.
Okay.
Perfect.
All the way to the end.
Oh, I can't believe I'm doing this.
Oh, my gosh.
Oh, my gosh.
That's right there.
Go over there.
It was literally right in front of my face right there.
We've been in the cage for, like, two seconds.
This is too fast.
We're closed in.
Yes.
Thank you.
Thank you.
You just breathe like normal, guys.
This right here is the main reason we chose to go with African sharks. Eco Charters, they're the only ones that offer.
Otherwise I would be underwater for about two seconds and have to come up for air because my heart's beating so fast.
You got a. You got. Don't be scared.
Don't be scared.
Don't be scared.
How's that?
Eh? Enjoy it. That was awesome.
You came so nice and close to you guys.
I feel all the water in my wetsuit.
That was crazy.
Literally, we've been in the cage for like 2 seconds.
As soon as she took it down.
And the shark was bumping into the.
Top was still up, he could have come into the cage. That was 100% the scariest I was. The whole time, I wasn't even thinking about how cold the water was.
Probably the coolest thing I've done in my whole life. We could not have asked for a more beautiful day. The waves are not that big. The sun is shining.
There's sharks in the water.
This is amazing.
Massive one. Oh, my gosh.
But every. Every day is different. Eh? We might see another five. We might not see another one. That was a big shock.
That. That was so big.
Whoa.
Wow. Holy crap.
You're looking at probably about 30,000 seals on that island at the moment. Between 30 and 40,000 seals.
Wow.
Sitting on that rock.
That was incredible. I still cannot believe that just happened.
I just hoped we captured, like, half of how amazing it was. I'm sure the camera does the massive sharks no justice underwater, but just know that it was like one of the coolest experiences of my life.
They don't even give you time to be scared. They're like, there's a shark. And then you just get in the cage and you don't even think about how crazy it is.
Especially for us. As soon as Cara was getting into the cage, the shark was running into the side of us. Highlighted the entire day.
Crazy.
We want to say a huge thank you to African Shark Eco Charters. We had an amazing day. Thank you for bringing us along.
Don't be scared.
Don't be scared. This is Rob.
He's our awesome skipper and owner of this company. Do you want to tell you two of the top three reasons that they should book with you?
Okay. Well, let's see. There's so many, but I'll limit it down to just three. I've been the longest running operator here. We're going for 20 years. 20 years. Incident free record. We use regulators on all our trips, which is very cool. Not only breath holding. So, yeah, we've only 20 minutes from Cape Town, where that year is about three hours away. That's probably the three main reasons. If we had more, I'll go on forever. But that should do it.
That should do it. That's all I need to know.
You got a good welcome. And it's like, wait, behind you. Bang.
Yep.
No warning. But that was good. But other than that, fantastic. Guys.
Hopefully.
Cool, guys. Thanks very much. I look forward to your video.
Hopefully everybody could hear Rob over the wind. It's pretty windy out here. If you want to go shark cage diving. Definitely the people to go with the best. No shaking hands with the penguins. Baby penguin.
A little better.
Nate's trying to make sure he's strong enough to fight off the shore. He has to try to make sure.
I'm warm enough to get back in the water. It's like the majestic, fun silhouette.
What's the water like?
