Bye. Thank you.
We just checked out of the Cheers Hotel. It's raining. Kara jinxed us. We were walking out of our apartment. We hadn't seen the outside today and she said, oh, this is the first place we've been that it hasn't rained. I bet it's raining right now. Little did we know.
I was right.
That'll be nice and damp to sit in the airport all day. As usual, we are going to the airport much earlier than our flight to enjoy the lounges.
To go to a lounge in Taipei's airport. And it has an oxygen bar. I'm not even sure what that is. I'm really excited about it.
After that, we are headed back to the first class lounges in Hong Kong.
This is the last day we have to wear our one dirty jacket that we brought. Going to warm weather.
Sam.
Wow.
That one is amazing.
Kara's a little mad right now. They took her cuticle clippers from her at security. Our first major loss of the trip.
I just thought I liked Taipei.
Dang it.
Sorry. Thanks. Whoa, baby. That's what I'm talking about. Round one of very many today. Should we get something else? Yes.
How do they compare to the best beef noodles that we had yesterday?
I like these better. These were free. Number two. Bye. Thank you.
We are leaving the Cathay Pacific lounge. We are not rushing to our gate this time but instead rushing to another lounge.
Had to wait on my vlog to upload and now we're going to the oxygen bar.
How do you work the oxygen bar? Oh, thank you.
So did she put it behind her head like this?
Yes. Had a little bit of a headache this morning. See if this relieves it. Oh, so nice.
All right, time to go. Gotta make our flight. Bye. Thank you. Thank you. Here we go. Heading quickly to our gate. After possibly spending a little bit too much time, talks a few more. Surprise, surprise. This is quite the line.
We are using my One World Emerald status to skip this line and head to that line.
Thank you. Thank you very much.
Just landed in Hong Kong. We have five hours here to enjoy the first class lounges before we catch our next flight to Kuala Lumpur.
We even got an official invite this morning.
Time.
Thank you.
That was easy. We're in. You go straight and schedule a massage. Do you all have any massages available? Massage? The next appointment is five o'. Clock. What's that? Five o'. Clock. Okay, now it's three. Three twenty. Okay. Can I schedule two? One for me and one for my wife. Right. Two pictures for you. Thank you so Much and together. Oh, fantastic.
Yes.
We're gonna kill the hour before our massage with the meal in the pre restaurant. Yes, please.
Kara was jealous of my noodles last time.
Cha Cha.
You didn't need to say anything. Your eyes did. I went with black peppered seared tuna. That was delicious. Round two of the ice cream.
Thank you.
Never too full for a few more snacks.
We were here in the Cathay Pacific pier first class lounge like four days ago and I didn't think we did a very good job of giving you a tour so I wanted to do that now. Right now we are currently in the bar area of the lounge. This is the pantry.
Just keep in mind everything you see in here is completely free. Behind me right here is the desk where you go to register for your free foot massage. And behind me right here is the full sit down restaurant.
You've already watched the seat in there twice. No need to go into too much detail about how good the food is. And that's pretty much it. I'll give you a quick walk through and fast forward to the rest of the lounge.
And we're back.
According to these things. Oh my gosh. They're going crazy.
We must go now.
Well, we have to get upstairs. Why are they so loud?
We're coming. Thank you.
Thank you.
That is the first time I've ever had a proper foot massage and that was amazing.
I got a back massage and I thought she was gonna break my back.
Wait, did you enjoy it?
I enjoyed it so much. I never wanted it to end.
No, it was way too short.
I'm so happy we got it though.
Yeah. Time to switch lounges so we can get some free sushi. Thank you. Hopefully we'll be back one day. The pier started right here. We're currently here and we are making our way all the way to the other side of the airport for free sushi.
We're coming for ya.
We're back.
After a short jog through the airport, we have made it back to the wing lounge. Good afternoon.
Good. How are you?
Starting with a little sushi appetizer.
This doesn't look very good, but it's pretty delicious. Cara went with the.
Hand seared duck breast. How you feeling about that?
The good news is if you don't like it, we can always get more sushi. Almost done editing yesterday's vlog. Kara's been doing work all day since we've been in the lounge.
Yeah, massage eating. Sadly, we are leaving the wing first class lounge and we don't know when we'll Be back very much.
Goodbye.
Our flight boarded at 8 o' clock and we have 18 minutes to make it to the other side of the airport before they close the gate.
Are you serious?
Yep.
When did this happen?
Let's go.
Where'd she go? Keep up, Kara. This is by far the closest we've come to missing our plane. I forgot we board. I forgot we took off at 8:30 and not boarded at 8:30. So we've upped our brisk walk to a slight jog. I'm gonna cramp from all the food I ate in the lounge. His final call, but I think we're gonna make it. Yes.
Thank you.
That was the closest call we've ever had.
That was my fault. I mixed up the boarding time and the time that the flight actually takes off. It was final call from the time we started walking. We're the lounge. Which took at least 15 minutes.
They met us like halfway down the hallway to gain our passports.
But with that said sweating, I maybe regret like five minutes of it. Had we left five minutes earlier, we might have had to run. Well, I spent time sitting on the flame while I was else boards when you could be in the first class. Exactly.
Finishing our cheesecake.
Oh my gosh. So hot. It is so hot. Okay, here's what I don't understand. Why do they not put air vents on Asian planes?
What the heck?
We made it to Kuala Lumpur. It is currently 12:20. A little tired. This has been a long but very enjoyable day of travel. We still have to clear immigrations, go through customs and then take an hour taxi ride to our hotel.
There's no way we're going to sleep before 2:00'. Clock. It's almost getting too late to vlog. And just paid for a taxi to our hotel. $30. Definitely not the norm, but when it's almost one in the morning.
Gotta do what you gotta do.
Thank.
You. Do you know how many different countries you have? I think.
50. Nice.
Very cool.
Perfect. Thank you.
We're here and we made it before 2 o'. Clock. This is the moment of truth. As a gold member, I'm hoping that we get a room upgrade, free breakfast and access to the lounge. Hey. Checking in? Sure, no worries.
Are you vlogging or. Yeah, yeah. All right. And we've been traveling for the past month and we've been doing daily vlogs.
We got.
Upgrade to the executive room.
We got the upgrade. We got the access to the lounge. We got the free breakfast and a handful of warm chocolate chip cookies.
They're warm.
Yeah. Carrie, Are you thankful for my gold status? Yes.
Thank you for all of your hard work.
I didn't do anything for this one. Just signed up for a credit card.
Right under the.
Executive lounge floor. We will be spending lots of time there.
The last thing I needed was four cookies.
I know. He has no idea how much we've eaten today.
Just smell.
Wow.
All rubs.
Yes. Slightly better than the last two places that we've stayed at.
Just a little bit. I think. We have an air unit. We have a pillow menu. Foam contour pillow. Natural rubber pillow. That sounds interesting. Made from 100% rubber. Is an antibacterial hydrogen.
It's also in part soft support for the head and neck.
Hard. Just get nice. We even got a view.
This is the super fancy zigzag couch that has absolutely no purpose. How am I supposed to roll my bag when I have a handful of cookies and a camera? Seriously, I'm rolling my bag with my pinky here.
Well.
Try to leave me. She's sick of me.
