It.
Today is day 14 of our trek back from Everest Base Camp. We are heading to the town of Lukla, which is where the plane originally dropped us off 14 days ago. It's about a five hour hike from here and we just got started.
Yesterday was day 13, which we didn't vlog. It would not have been an exciting vlog to watch. However, we had an awesome time. We hung out in Nam Che Bazaar at a coffee shop that served real coffee and pastries and it was amazing. After hanging out at the coffee shop all day, we took a two hour hike to another small town and then we just hung out there and played cards. So fantastic day for us. Not a fantastic day for the vlog. You didn't miss anything. We're going to Luckla today and we are crossing our fingers that our plane flies out tomorrow because we've heard that people have been stuck there for five days trying to fly back to Kathmandu. Let's go.
This is how the people in these small mountain villages get their goods. Instead of going to Walmart, they have a man walk up pots and pans and buckets and different stuff like that. And as they pass, they just buy the buckets or whatever they need off their shoulder. Teapots.
Pretty much anything. Brushes.
Crazy.
The last scary swingy bridge. Kind of disappointed, kind of excited. We're almost there.
We just stopped at the very first lodge that we stayed at on our way up the mountain and we're gonna grab some tea back on the trail. This is our last three hours of the entire trek.
I'm in a tank top till we.
Get to Luckla for lunch.
We got into Luckla. We got into Luckla about two hours ago at 12pm we were both completely exhausted. We forgot how far we went down in the beginning and we had to hike all of that back up. So we grabbed some dinner and then we. We both just took a short nap. Unfortunately, we've heard that zero planes left Lukla today and there are just tons of people stranded in this town. And the only way that people are getting out is by helicopter. The helicopter pad is just right outside our room. Ever since we got here, the helicopters have just been coming and going and coming and going. They're really loud. We're booked on the third flight out of Lucklo tomorrow. So we're crossing crossing our fingers that the weather will clear and we'll be able to get out of here. So we've already been in the mountains for a long time and we don't exactly want to be here for like five more days like some people have been.
We hear that rain's a good thing. Hopefully this is a good sign and it'll clear things up for tomorrow. Hopefully the rain has subsided a little bit. So we're going to join some friends at a coffee shop. You get some free WI fi.
I got it.
Hello.
Hello. How are we? Sorry it took so long. That's right. Thank you.
Look at that beaut.
I was walking down and I just, like, ran into this dude. Carrie, you finished Everest Base Camp Trail. He's like, yeah, I'm from Toronto. Mr. Celebration. Mocha.
I don't even know how to drink it. Oh, it's so warm.
It's so good. It's real coffee.
Tell us what we're doing, Charlie.
Walking. Always walking. Another day.
We never stop.
We never. What's up? Poor guy.
What are you licking.
Me and my cone head?
Don't mess them up.
