This is day 2545 of living on the Road. Today we're renting bikes to do our own winery tour. And my cute nephew Hank is coming along for the ride too. After an easy, breezy 20 minute ride, our first stop is Crab Farm Winery. And oh my gosh, how cute is this tasting room. You won't believe the prices here. New Zealand is not a cheap country, but it only costs US$6 per person to try nine different wines. Yum. Needless to say, we followed up with some much needed French fries before getting back on the bikes. After an eventful 30 minute ride, we arrived at winery number two, Church Road. Once again, this place is so beaut. And the tasting was only US$10. Each wine seemed to be better than the last. After making friends with the sommelier, we scored a private tour of the Cellar Museum where we couldn't figure out if the wax people were real or not. We were having so much fun that we ran out of time for the third winery and walked home in a windstorm. See you tomorrow.
