Starting this morning off, going to get a haircut because I'm kind of in desperate need of one. And then we should have a roof. Really exciting afternoon plan, but I'm waiting on an email to confirm.
Hopefully this haircut goes better than last time in Vietnam.
Don't end up with tiger spots right here.
But at least we speak English here.
This will be my first haircut where I've been able to communicate with the person cutting my hair in English since we got on the road. Found it just shorter here, a little longer on top.
Can I do it?
Can I?
He's going to do it better.
I'm going to trust you.
This guy trusts him.
Here we go.
Looking good, Percy.
Need a man. Thank you.
Thanks, Percy.
Bye.
That is the most time that anybody has ever taken on my hair. But it was fantastic. No, he took his job very seriously and he did a great job. This is Cape Town.
Yeah.
Let's see if we have an email for our big plans this afternoon.
No new emails. This could be it. That's not it. Don't think I ever said what I was supposed to be doing that got canceled. But I was supposed to be going paragliding this afternoon, but apparently it's too windy. We're trying to reschedule for Friday, hopefully, because that's the last day we can do it.
But to cheer Nate up, we're gonna go get our favorite food in the whole wide world.
Sushi. Instead of being Nate's afternoon, it turned into Kara's afternoo.
All right. Looks great.
Thank you.
Jordan, enough sushi.
Both of these plates cost, like $11 total.
Oh, couldn't do it.
Best sushi we've had since Japan. You find yourself in Cape Town 169. Yeah, sushi, something like that turns into.
A club at night.
Our plans for the rest of the afternoon were to go to a market and then go to the beach, but now it's, like, super cloudy.
I did not leave any room this time around. My bag for souvenirs. So I'm going for, like, jewelry.
That's about all I can fit.
This one come from. This looks interesting.
That one look from Abricos. From Africa, because.
Ivory Coast.
Gotcha. Okay.
It's a very special piece. Very old one.
Very neat.
Yeah, that's very unique pattern. Very old one.
Don't worry about the price here. Only give you better price. For you. A special one.
This will not fit in my suitcase.
Why not?
Because I have a very small suitcase.
We're getting out of here. It's one of Those markets. That wears me out when you can't walk more than five steps without somebody trying to sell you something.
They're nice, though. It was a new strategy this time of just talking to them. Then I feel less bad if I don't buy anything. At least they had a nice company.
But then she gets all their hopes up, and they all think, cause she's so nice, she's gonna buy something. So then it's like this divorce when she's trying to leave the shop.
Well, when you tried to charge me $20 for a cheap fake.
We're not going to the beach still cl. Crazy windy. I don't know what we're gonna do with the rest of today. I'm just, like, kind of lost today after my exciting paragliding adventure got canceled.
I will probably just push through it and go to the beach, even though it was cloudy and windy. However, we're gonna be at the beach for, like, two weeks. More than that.
Mauritius and Zanzibar coming up soon.
Yeah, that's like three weeks of beach. So we're not gonna force it, But I do have.
Yes.
All right.
This is Theo. He's the owner slash head roaster. What do you call yourself? That's right. Of Camille. He's roasting a Colombian blend for us right now. The thing that drew Carrie and I into this was that your sign said roasted to order.
Excellent.
He's got two micro roasters right here. We ordered a Columbia blend.
Beautiful.
Awesome. Those are the beans. These are also the beans.
Literally just came out of the roaster.
Dark and strong, just the way I like.
