A vlog-style YouTube video by Nate Buchanan (with Kara) documenting their early-morning visit to Angkor Wat and nearby temples. They describe arriving around 5:15 AM for sunrise, complain about very large crowds, visit Angkor Wat, Bayon, and the Tomb Raider (Ta Prohm) temple with its tree, experience food with ants, briefly get separated, and decide to end temple visits for the day. Tone is informal, humorous, and mildly frustrated with crowds.

This sunrise better be awesome. We are going to meet our tuk tuk driver so we can go to sunrise at Anchor Watt. They even packed us breakfast.
I love our hot.
There's kazi here.
Slightly inflated prices here in front of Angkor wat. It's currently 5:15 in the morning. It appears as though we got here in plenty of time to see the sunrise.
Can't see a thing.
Heard that the crowds here can be madness. We'll see lots of flashlights bouncing around in the distance. But we did get coffee.
It's not bad.
Here in the Watt.
How you think it's going?
Heard about this secret sunrise spot where you could watch the sunrise above anchor one. We're like the only ones here except for like 2,000 other people.
The crowd is almost more impressive than the sunrise.
This guy that sat right in front of me. Not sure if the sun's up yet or not. Probably a little cloudier than I hoped for.
Pretty but cloudy. Cara, thoughts?
Thanks man.
Hope you got some good shots. This is nuts.
This is the most people I've seen in the country since we arrived and.
They all got up at 5 in the morning. Okay, I know we're like extremely lucky to be here, so I'm not trying to complain.
But there were a lot of people and it was pretty gray.
It's still pretty great.
I'll just do some intense editing for these two.
Sam.
Stairs are slightly eroding.
Let's turn it into more of a slide.
We're in the top Sanquat. We haven't even left our first temple yet and I've already burnt through the first battery.
Sam, top of the temple is getting pretty popular.
This is crazy.
We were here like 15 minutes ago and waited in line for like two seconds.
Well, that was Angkor Wat.
We've been here since 5:30 and we are just now leaving.
I do want to point out this whole week we've been talking about Angkor Wat a lot. I just want to clarify. This is Angkor Wat. This is the only Angkor Wat. We just call all of the temples Angkor Wat. But this is like the Anchor Wat.
We were a little negative this morning after fighting the crowds for sunrise. So we might just put this all to music.
It was worth it.
Did you take a nap?
No.
Thank you. How about you both?
It was great.
Very nice. Yeah, yeah.
And this one, Bayan Temple. And after the small temple and above one over there.
Okay, we're at the Bayon Temple now and there's a bunch of faces of a guy named.
I can't remember.
I was gonna be impressed if he did.
It.
We found food.
We're both starving. Would have eaten anything anywhere at this point.
Thank you. Did you fall asleep over there?
Yeah.
How many ants did you find in the race? A few.
We'll just leave it at. Should have stuck with chips and Coke. Just driving past temples at this point.
Which one? And we. Where are we now? Here. And then we wait for you. Okay. This is our last temple of the trip. The tomb raiders temple. But I've never seen tomb raiders.
Supposed to be pretty cool.
This tree is growing out of the top of this temple.
Just like straight out of the ceiling.
We'll prove it.
No roots down to the ground. Just temple.
How in the world. I have to go in.
Can we? I think this is their attempt to avoid cutting down the tree and also preserving the temple. That's crazy.
How is it on both sides of the concrete wall?
I don't understand how many people can fit in one temple.
Just ignore all the people getting their picture taken.
Oh, the cool tomb raider tree with a million other people. That was nuts. Crazy. I thought the crowds at Angkor Wat were bad this morning.
There are so many people here.
If you're gonna come to the Tomb Raider temple, do it really early. Done with temples.
I'm done with temples.
We're done. We're going back to the hotel.
Go home.
Somebody put lipstick on that one.
I'm lost here.
I left her sitting in the shade while I went to scope out another temple and she's not here.
We're both tired and hungry. Now we're separated and lost.
This is not going to end well. We've now been separated for at least 20 minutes. I'm not worried at this point. It's just weird that she would walk off and leave. I'm trying to stand in high places or places that are way out in the open so she can see me. We're both running on two hours of sleep today.
I'm sure she's as annoyed as I am. Also. This place is massive. She could be anywhere. I spotted her. You can't tell if she's happy to see me or really mad that I've been gone for so long.
I guess we'll find out.
Where did you go?
I went to go scope out the temple and then I came back and you were gone. Really? Yeah.
I was just on the other side of that wall.
I looked around.
Right on the other side.
I lit like I walked all the way out there and looked back just to make sure I wasn't missing you.
Yeah, I thought maybe you were looking for a bathroom or buying new food.
Or got hit by a motorcycle or got robbed. I was really hoping for the food part, though.
Kara, while we're on our way back to the hotel, will you tell us how we ended up eating a plate of rice that we picked six ants out of?
I don't even want to talk rice in front of me. And said, there are six dead ants in this rice. I wouldn't have eaten it. And about halfway through, I saw a tiny little ant. And so I just decided I was gonna ignore it. I took it off the plate, I set it on the napkin. I just tried not to think about it. Continued eating my lunch. Few more bites in, I saw another one, and I thought, okay, don't think about it. Move it out of the way. Move on.
That's what I did.
My last few bites. I started looking for them, and there were several more in there, but you.
Had already eaten so much of it, you just decided why not?
And so that's why I didn't tell Nate, because he was already done. So I figured, what's the point in telling Nate if he's already eaten his ant? So I didn't tell him. But then he saw me picking him.
Out.
So I had to tell him.
And we forgot our pipto bismol.
Street food is not always the answer.
