Dublin to London | BEST WAY TO SLEEP IN THE AIRPORT!

A Nate and Kara Buchanan travel vlog documenting travel from Dublin to London with a long airport layover. The couple spend many hours in an airport lounge (working, explaining how they access lounges via Priority Pass obtained with a City Prestige card), fly to London, and use an airport Yotel (Terminal 4) for an overnight layover before departing to Iceland the next morning. The video includes practical tips (lounge access, sleeping in airports), brief plugs for a 22-page PDF guide and a newsletter, and candid travel footage.

It is currently 11am we are getting kicked out of our Airbnb and we are heading to the airport. So I bought this, like airport Link bus pass thing, round trip that I'm not exactly sure how to use. So we're just going to go back to a stop where the bus dropped us off and get on, show them the pass and hopefully we ride to the airport for free. That's the plan, at least. That's the bus. Go, go, go. That's the bus. That's the bus.
Apparently there wasn't a bus stop, it's just a stop light. So one of our viewers works at this dessert place called Queen of Tarts. She sent us a message on Instagram and we just passed it. So we're going to go see if she's in there before we get on the bus.
This is our new friend, Emir. She saw our videos from Thailand to Cambodia and took the same bus that we did. Great tip.
Thank you. Thanks, guys.
Have a great trip. Thanks for calling in.
We are at the airport and we have a little bitty confession. It is.
1Pm and our flight isn't until 8pm and we're here.
We're spending the day in the lounge. So how to justify this to people who don't travel all the time? I don't think it's possible, but we are about to meet my sister and her husband in Iceland. We're running a car, we're going to be doing a ton of driving and very little work is going to get done. So we're going to try to get caught up on some work. Today day, we have access to a lounge, so we have free food and drink for the rest of the day and we want to a good WI FI connection and we love airports. So we're spending the next seven hours here in the airport and then we have an overnight layover in the London airport. So, like the rest of this vlog is going to be in airport. So if you don't like airports, maybe just turn it off, come back tomorrow, we'll be in Iceland.
It's going to be awesome.
Today's going to be. We're excited.
It's huge.
What do you think? I like corner like that. Or we can climb back in that corner or we can do it. This is her space.
So every time we spend time in lounges, we always get comments asking how we get access to these lounges. So moving forward, we're going to try to do a better job of explaining that, starting with this one and this one. We are accessing using the Priority Pass. This is the the digital version. I'm trying to cover up my details, but the Priority Pass is basically a membership pass that gets you into over a thousand airport lounges around the world. And we got this priority pass by signing up for the City Prestige card. And that gave us the priority Pass for free for a year. And that's just one of the ways that you can access airport lounges for free. And because we get this question so often, I've put together an entire guide. It's like a 22 page PDF I believe. So there's a lot of information in it about all the different ways that you can access airport lounges for free. So you can download that in the link below. A little bit of a shameless play. Also, it's still really quiet in here, which is why I've been whispering.
As usual. Our time in the lounge went by way too quickly. That was seven hours gone. But we got a lot of good work done. I got our weekly email sent out, so if you want, you can sign up to get that shameless plug number two. I'm on a roll. And I also got a lot of good planning done for our Trans Siberia intro.
And I edited an entire vlog.
So right there in the lounge. Now we are flying to London.
Watch out for you.
Our strategy has worked once again.
The safety card in your seat area shows details of escape routes, oxygen mats and life jackets. It also shows the brace position which.
You must adopt in an emergency land crate.
So we've just arrived in London and we have an overnight layover until we leave for Iceland tomorrow morning at 7:30.
Our original plan was to find a cozy bench or corner on the floor to sleep since it's such a short layover in the middle of the night.
But thankfully we don't have to do that.
So I reached out to the Yotel and they have offered to host us for the night. It is a hotel here in the airport. It's kind of a hotel, I think between a capsule hotel and like a regular hotel they call the rooms and cabins. I don't really care. It's not a.
We just have to find it. But it's here.
It's in Terminal 4. We have no idea what terminal we're in now.
Turns out we're in Terminal 5. So we're riding the bus over to Terminal 4 for free. Hello, Fre. We're staying at the hotel. Yay.
Going to our cabin.
Whoa.
Awesome.
We're in our cabin. Oh, this is cozy. First of all, I got a hair dryer from reception, so I'm super excited about that. All these buttons on the bed.
Oops.
I don't know what that was.
What?
This is awesome.
Lights.
We have a tv, some plugs, a table that pulls out a shower. Whole bathroom right here. And we just sleep in this cute little room.
Just got some hot chocolate.
Time for ben.
I'm gonna turn off the lights.
Can you see my head?
Yeah. Flying.
Deep bre.
I just didn't need one glass.
Okay, you gotta wrap your legs around the seat. No, no, no, no, no, no. Like.
You can't.
Look miserable. I gu.
