Done. All right.
It's that old coughing attack.
This morning, our awesome Airbnb host, Santiago has offered to take us around the city and be our tour guide, show us some things. He's watched several of our past videos and he tells us he knows exactly where to take us. I think it includes a fort, lunch at a yacht club, and who knows what else.
But it's supposed to rain, so we're going to try to do it all really fast. This is Santiago, our tour guide for the day.
They turned the fortress into a history museum, so we're learning about the history of Uruguay and getting to see some really old weapons.
We have definitely learned more about the history here than most of the countries we go to. So we're extremely grateful to Santiago for showing us around and giving us a private tour. Also, if all of the shots were really shaky. Sorry about that. It is extremely windy. We're also hoping to fly the drone, but the wind. And this is a military base. So.
Where to next?
Did the gps just answer my question?
So Santiago brought us to the fisherman's club, which is apparently a good place to come to eat cheap seafood. It's raining pretty hard and really windy, so we didn't have a chance to show you around, but we'll try to, like, link it below. So if you're ever here, you can come try it out because we're having lunch somewhere else.
It's raining really hard now.
Made it just in time.
We did.
That was a Jewish holocaust museum on the beach in Montevideo. I'm still not exactly clear on why it's here, but apparently Europe, Uruguay and Israel have a very good relationship. Very interesting. We're definitely seeing some things that are not on Trip Advisor today.
I think I'm gonna like the yacht club. This looks figure since we were sitting right next to the ocean, I had to get seafood, so I got the seafood pasta.
And the other wouldn't be the same here without some dolce de leche, so I got it on my ice cream.
So good.
Our next stop was to look at the airport, which is really impressive. And now we just stopped at this private pilot school because he used to be a pilot. Apparently he knows these people.
We don't have our IDs with us. We can't go see the planes, but we do get to see the school.
Listen.
Wow.
Can I sit in this chair? Yeah.
You can even fly if you want.
You want it?
Yeah.
I'm gonna fly a plane. I'm already nervous.
We've ridden in a lot of planes, but we have yet to fly one.
Today's the day. My GPS is on.
Okay.
I should have started. Now what? Okay, this is your wheel. You are going to move up and down left. Right or left?
She's right. Uh oh.
She's gonna crash it upset.
Yeah. You're afraid. Leave it.
Oh, leave it up.
Oh no. Oh yeah.
Oh no. Ms. Airflow.
I do not want to fly with you.
I don't either.
You see that stone?
Warning. You know?
Uh huh.
Still, warning is warning.
It's warning me.
Yeah. Oh no.
Oh, look at the sunse.
You got it.
Oh no. I'm flying here.
You have 1,000 tips. It's like a watch, you know, the small one is 10, 20 and the big one.
Is 100.
I think she should try to land it.
Oh yeah. How did you land?
You're going to the greatest world towards altitude. You're going to do something like this.
Ready?
Just tell me when. Oh no.
Oh no.
Oh gosh.
You cry.
How do you think you did?
I think I need some practice. I'm surprised. It wasn't like.
It was a very nice crowd.
You want to try?
You want to fly in, Mom?
Well that was awesome.
Oh no, no. Yeah.
Everyone was scared for their life. But I didn't crash the plane. Oh, it's fast.
You are going out on the Runway.
That was so much fun. Thank you very much. Nice to meet you. After that, I have a new respect for pilots.
We are at the soccer stadium. Now it was built in 1930 and it was the first stadium for the first.
What is it? The first World cup was here and there's 80,000 seats and there's a museum inside. So we're gonna go.
So I was just told how seats are assigned in the stadium. The brown area that you see right behind the goal, that's where all of like the really crazy people sit. And then if you're like big time into your team and you want to wear your team's jersey, then they put you in the end section, like the seats behind the goal. And then the other team has to sit on the other side behind the goal. And then if you're neutral, you're allowed to sit in the side sections where we're standing right now. But you're not allowed to wear a jersey if you're gonna sit in these side sections. And you have to pay more so they separate the crazies. And then all of the normal people get to sit in the side sections. Pretty crazy.
It was cool having the opportunity to ride around with a local and getting to see and do a lot of things that aren't on TripAdvisor that we would have had no earthly idea even existed.
So thank you, Santiago, for spending your day with us. And since we got driven around today with Private driver, we didn't walk nearly as much as usual, and it was raining, but now it's beautiful. So we're gonna go on a run down La Rambla with all the locals, because everyone is running constantly here, so we're gonna go do it, too.
Going to fit in and get some exercise.
Oh, you're crashing into the ground.
Oh, no.
This is so.
Oh, yeah, you're about to die.
I'm doing tricks. Look at that.
Uh. Oh, there's the moon.
It.
