FIRST CARIBBEAN ISLAND! | 15 Day Repositioning Cruise

Transcript of a YouTube travel vlog (creator Nate Buchanan) documenting a day in St. Kitts during a 15-day repositioning cruise. The speakers (Nate, Kara and local guides/characters like Dean and Genie) rent scooters/ Vespas at the port, circle the island, visit viewpoints and beaches (notably Black Rock Beach and a crowded Reggae Beach bar), sample local food (conch fritters), and return the scooters before reboarding the ship. The tone is conversational, experiential, and touristic.

I gonna do a song for you guys. This is use Kate, Kara, Use Kayla and use Nate. You guys are my friend, I don't know but you guys gotta go to heaven. You so pretty, you're so handsome. Where part you guys come from? I know you gotta be from heaven. Have a good day, guys. Peace out, man. Love your mother.
Sam.
After five days at sea, we have just pulled into the port on the Caribbean island of St. Kitts.
Yay. It's a beautiful sunny day. The water is super blue and the mountains are so beautiful. We're still on the ship, but today we're exploring the island in the best way we think you can remind me.
To drive on the left. From what we've heard, it only takes two and a half hours to get around the entire island. So we should be able to see a ton today and a lot of beautiful beaches.
I'm so excited.
The scooter company that we're renting from is picking us up here at the port and they're going to take us to the scooters and then we have them for the whole day.
Hey, how's it going? Hi.
Nate. Yes.
Hey.
It's Kate. Kara.
Kara. Sorry. Hey, nice to meet you.
Nate and Kate a lot.
First time seeing kids.
Yes.
Okay, welcome.
Ready? We're ready. Except for I don't know how to buckle my helmet.
So do you guys have any experience?
Yes. Well, I had an experience riding on the back.
Have fun, guys. Perfect.
Thank you.
No problems. Call us.
Okay. It has been less than 30 minutes since we got off the boat and we already have our scooter. We're ready to go. And we're going around the north part of the island this morning. That's the like two, two and a half hour drive. And then this afternoon we're gonna head south. There's like this little skinny part of the island. It's supposed to be where all the good beaches are. So we're gonna spend the afternoons at the beach.
We only have one afternoon.
I said no.
The drive so far has been so awesome. I love getting to drive through these little towns where you can see all the locals, like out working. And the mountains and the water are just so pretty.
Sam, according to Google Maps, we've already driven over halfway around this island and there are less and less people with every second.
It's about 11 o', clock, so it's taking us about two hours to get here. They told us it would take like two, two and a half hours, so we allotted about four for circling the island because it usually takes us so long. We love, like, just stopping off at little places. The drive has been so much fun and the people here are so, so nice.
Everybody just smiles and waves at us. I like, don't want to make it all the way around. I just want to keep going.
But if we make it all the way around, then we get to go to the beach.
Okay. Yeah.
And I'm hungry. And I hear most of the restaurants are back on the south side of the island, so we need to finish the second half so we can grab some lunch.
Yeah, there's nothing out here.
Just feeling we are getting to experience local life. Scooter is without a doubt the best way to see St. Kitts. In our three hours that we've been on the island, we've become experts.
We were just driving along, soaking in the views, and past this really nice looking lady. And she was waving, but she was waving like, please stop. So we slowed down and she said, the Black Rock is down that way. You missed it. And the Black Rock beach is the place that we wanted to stop. And we would have just drove right past it.
Whoa, goats.
Goats.
It was so nice of her to stop us. I would have been so Sad. There's also 1, 2, 3, 4 buses down here of other tourists.
Wow, this is beautiful over here.
Wow.
This is so cool. So when we pulled up, it was this cute little village with all these little vendors and all the tourists up there. And then this guy told us about the secret path that takes you down to Black Rock Beach. Everybody else is over there, like, overlooking it. We're like down here on it all by ourselves.
It.
Enjoy the ride back to the kusher. Enjoy yourself, like. And please make a baby for me. So next time you guys come back and see the baby babe. Kate and Nate. Okay, so what you can do a pig.
This is our friend Dean. He's the one who told us about the secret path in the video.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Well, this is Kate and Nate, my friends from in the States. But in England having. Sometimes I want these guys to make a baby soon and named Kate and Nate. Okay? So I'm a friend bigging up Kate, bigging up Nate at the whole United States. Big up, everybody. Love you guys. Wish you guys to come here, see the view, enjoy it. We love you guys.
Later, Dean.
Have a good day.
Bye, Dean. Bye.
Love you guys.
See every. You're so friendly.
Guys, look out for some animals on the road.
I'll do it.
Yeah.
Appreciate it.
Yeah, Dana's the best.
It is about 1:00 clock now, and we are almost to the beaches, which means we are almost to food and we are starving. But we just had to stop here because it overlooks the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Ocean, and it doesn't even look real. Nate's telling me it's the Caribbean Sea, not the Caribbean Ocean.
This is Genie in St. Kate's on Reggae beach with my new friend Kara Karen. What should we eat.
Punks? Flitters.
Ah.
Conch fritters is good. Fun is very good.
Okay.
Yes. We get the conch from the sea. They come in those shells.
Yes.
And it's good for the best and beautiful venue. Doing the jiggy jiggy.
What?
You heard the lady. We had to get the conch printers, so we did.
She did not lead us astray. Seriously, this place is like a proper beach bar. The Beachies beach bar I've ever seen. Nobody's wearing shoes. Everybody's out on the beach having a good time.
Just for the record, the reggae beach bar, the concentraters were super good, but it is very overpriced and pretty crowded, and there's a lot of other beaches that we didn't see any people at. We have about an hour before we have to turn the Vespa in, so we're gonna go try to find one of those.
To find a beach with no people on it, probably because the waves are gigantic and kind of scary, but it's.
Still good for a nice long walk.
So we have to get back on the ship.
We are turning in the Vespa now because unfortunately, our time here is up. But it's one of those fun emotions in life where you're really sad that something's over, but you're really excited about what's next. And tomorrow we get to go to a new Caribbean island, which is really exciting.
Hopefully my sunburn goes away.
Are you Channing or not?
Halfway.
