FLYING HOME TO NASHVILLE (celebrating a huge accomplishment)

This is a personal YouTube travel vlog by Nate and Kara Buchanan documenting the final leg of a long trip from Australia back toward their U.S. home. The vlog narrates an extended flight itinerary and airport/lounge scenes, then centers on a multi-day family reunion celebrating Nate's grandparents' 60th wedding anniversary (including a surprise matching-shirt reveal and an emotional tribute video) and their niece's first birthday. The footage emphasizes family activities (paddleboarding, boat rides/cliff jumping, games, push-up challenges) and the couple's gratitude for time spent with relatives despite a full-time travel lifestyle.

I never thought I'd be paddleboarding with my 80 year old grandfather. 84. 84.
Good morning from New York. Today starts the last leg of one of the longest travel journeys of our lives. If not the longest.
This all started a few days ago back in Australia. First we flew from Brisbane to Singapore. Then from Singapore to Da Nang in Vietn where we stayed the night in the hotel. Then the next morning we headed back to the airport, flew to Hong Kong where we boarded a 16 hour flight from Hong Kong to New York, which is where we arrived last night where we took four trains to get to the hotel that I had mistakenly booked somewhere.
It was a long journey, but this.
Morning starts the very last leg. We're gonna jump on the free shuttle to the airport and then fly home to Nashville.
Back at the air.
It's a beautiful day to fly.
There's no priority pass lounge in this terminal. We were super bummed. Then we remembered that we have United passes with our credit card. This lounge is pretty great. Time for brekkie.
I had low expectations for a domestic United lounge, but I'm very impress.
That's so good. That's the simple things. Okay, Nate, how much will you judge me if I eat a second bagel?
0 calories in the airport don't count.
Perfect.
Thank you.
First and last spot of the day at loungehood Takeaway Eminem bag.
Make sure all my tract device are.
Flowed from the outlets. Larger devices stood, small ones can be.
Held but make sure they're still in airplane mode.
Once again, push that silver button. Bring those seats forward.
The reason we flew home this week was to celebrate Nate's grandparents 60th wedding anniversary. Which turned into a full on family reunion.
Hi mama. You're getting a double hug.
Some couples would not be excited to put traveling on hold to go spend a whole week in one house with their entire family.
Yay.
But this family is special and we couldn't wait. We stayed at this beautiful Airbnb on the lake soaking up every minute of family time.
Nate's sister and her husband own a printing company. So they decided it would be fun to surprise my mom and pop on their anniversary with matching shirts for the whole family.
Here they come.
Here they come.
They're coming.
They're.
Happy 60th anniversary. Mama and pop, we love you. We are from Tennessee. But it is not normal for us to all print matching tank tops for family reunions. This is a very special occasion.
Victory do.
That night we debuted an emotional video that the family put together all telling them why we love them so much.
I don't know how you sum up what two people like. Now should I be talking to. Who should I be talking to? I don't think there's a lot of people to get to see. Like a day's like they tell you.
To be ready in two shakes of a lancet. I just lost it for like multiple minutes.
We also got to celebrate our one and only niece's first birthday party this week. Look how cute.
Happy birthday dear Gary. Happy birthday to you.
Yeah.
This your first sugar, Caleb?
Yes.
That was the moment.
That's a lot.
Wow. Chocolate.
You like it?
The rest of our time was spent just hanging out with each other. But this family can't just relax. There is always an adventure or competition to be had. A quiet afternoon of paddle boarding turned into speed races. And who can do the coolest trick without falling off.
I'm really impressed.
One thousand three, a thousand four, a thousand five, a thousand six. One thousand seven. A thousand. A thousand guys. A thousand six a stop.
Oh gosh. You've got to go past that little twig sitting out there and then turn around and you got to come back past the dock right here. Kara's gonna be the judge of who wins.
Got it. Seti. Who's gonna win? Never. Done.
Paul, hurry.
On your mark, get set, go.
Two of the most competitive people in the world right here.
I've been beating them since I was 10 years old.
Woo. Dusting off the old cheerleading skills. Never thought it would come in handy. Playing pig at 28 years old.
A morning boat ride turned into cliff jumping.
Game night means no holding back.
Answer that you get team. Go team. Come on.
A midnight snack turned into a push up competition.
My 84 year old grandfather does 100 push ups every night. So it's led to a family challenge of who can do 100 push ups the fastest.
I wonder where they get it from. Go. Three.
Go.
Go. Go. Go.
Go.
Go.
So fast.
Alex, I'm.
We absolutely love our life of full time travel. But with our limited amount of time that we get to spend in the U.S. we do miss out on a lot. Which is why we are so grateful we got to be with everyone for a whole week celebrating such special milestones together. And we wouldn't have missed it for the world.
Today starts.
I'm very impressed.
It's a new tradition.
I want my face on next year's for a seven year anniversary.
Smooth.
Nice hair.
Want us to carry the catal?
Way to go, christy.
Dusty gets a p if I get a pee.
Llama gets a b.
Yay.
That's the cutest thing ever.
She liked that one.
Are you excited?
