A short family travel vlog by Nate and Kara Buchanan in Split, Croatia. The hosts spend a day with guest Charlie doing casual activities — skateboarding, swimming at a concrete beach, playing on cliffs, attempting bocce, and hiking to a cafe to watch the sunset. The transcript is conversational and documents the day’s sequence from morning preparations through an evening dusk stop at a cafe.

We have a really special guest joining us tonight. Chad from Kentucky.
I'm so happy you're here.
One more skateboard. We just need Jill.
Good morning, y'. All.
Good morning.
This is how most mornings start in the Buchanan household. We are heading out to meet Charlie for lunch. He got in late last night. And because this is his only full day here in split, we're gonna let him choose what we do today. $10 says we end up at the beach.
And of course we're riding our skateboard.
That's what happens when we get around Charlie, these things. Oh, that's just a split. It's not a skateboard.
Let's.
Sorry we're late. You look like you're enjoying yourself, though.
I was just messaging you guys.
Today is your one day in split, so you get to choose what we do.
Okay, so we've done all the things I really wanted to do. So the first one was to check this out, which is amazing. Second one was to swim in the ocean. I skated there in five minutes.
Nice.
Went swimming. I played balls with some of the boys up in the cliffs and I want to go for a run through the park.
I bet everybody on the vlog $10 that we'd end up at the beach. But it sounds like you already did it without us. I have.
Thank you.
Got a little snack for lunch with the view.
Not bad.
We decided to spend the afternoon at the beach. So we went back to the apartment and grabbed the GoPro and the day is officially starting. Or at least we're like going to do something now.
We've made it to the concrete beach. I don't know if it's still considerate of each if it's concrete. The water's right there.
Looks beautiful.
Sun shiny.
I thought we go out there near the point.
I like it.
Wow.
Charlie and I are going for a swim somewhere out there and Kara's enjoying the sunshine. We can't talk her into coming in the cold water.
It's one of those things I'm always glad when I make myself get in, but it's always terrible. Just gotta go for it.
And.
Hey, how was your swim?
I think I stayed in the water too long. Had the involuntary shakes.
Yeah, you're looking a little cold.
A little green. Probably the best place to throw it.
Probably down in the water.
I'm considering not doing it.
How you feel, Jed?
Really warm.
Why are you shaking?
Just trying to cool down.
A few pull ups before we leave the beach.
By a few, I mean like a few. We are leaving the beach. But before we head back, I'm gonna beat Charlie in a game of bocce ball.
We'll see. We'll see about that. Not a chance. Oh, my cola's up.
There's no balls available at the bocce court. It's just empty.
I had a lovely time laying on a rock in the sunshine while y' all were freezing and swimming.
Heading back to the apartment now. Gonna get cleaned up, and then the plan is to head to a cafe to watch the sun sunset.
Lovely.
Pretty chill day, but it's been really nice. We are hiking up a hill to a cafe. We're, like, really late for the sunset, so we're hiking up to watch what is left of the sunset. We made it to the cafe. I'd call it more like dusk than sunset, but still beautiful.
We're gonna stay up here and enjoy the rest of the sunset, but we did not bring any more batteries for the camera, so I think the vlog has to end here because it's dying. We're just gonna grab dinner, and then it's gonna.
I know. We match. Beautiful. So glad we did that.
87, 88.
89, 8, 7.
Surely that's enough. Oh, I wanted to push him down there.
Nice work, mate.
I'm gonna have the most toned arm of.
