This is day 2,546 of living on the road, and today we're spending New Year's Eve in Auckland, New Zealand. We booked a room at this hotel just so we could have a view of the Sky Tower. That way we can see the fireworks show at midnight tonight without having to go out. I think this means we're getting old. The last Tennessee game of the year is on, so Nate made me watch that for a while. Then for our last meal of 2022, we got vegan chili cheese sweet potato fries. Oh my gosh. After our very romantic meal, we were feeling a little sleepy, so we got coffees from this cute truck to make it easier to stay up till midnight. We spent the next couple hours walk walking around the city and then decided we should go ahead and pop the champagne before it gets too late. We love a good cozy movie night. And by 11:30 I was pretty much asleep. But Nate surprisingly caught a second wind and decided that we should go out to ring in the new year because it would be more memorable. Deep down, I knew he was probably right, but was not convinced at first. We joined the sea of young intoxicated kiwis and then found a great spot on the pier with the perfect view of the Sky Tower.
