HKG First Class Lounge Hopping (Wing & Pier Tour)

Nate and Kara spend a long Hong Kong layover hopping between first class lounges: Cathay Pacific's The Wing and The Pier, plus the Qantas business lounge. They sample the food, showers, and amenities before flying to Sydney after three months in Asia.

Starting the morning by attempting a feat that's never been accomplished before.
No way.
You look like an angel.
Success. That's what it feels like to be Karen. You have to sit on your suitcases every time.
No. Lounge in the Da Nang International Airport. This is the first international airport that we haven't had lounge access in. But that's okay because we probably would have eaten some mediocre lounge food here. And we need to save room for the first class lounges in Hong Kong.
How smart does she look over there?
Not when you see. Just when you look at your computer with your glasses.
We are currently here in the Da Nang airport. If we're lucky, our flight will leave in about 30 minutes. And we have a two hour flight to Hong Kong. Once we get to Hong Kong, we have a nine hour layover. Which means we get to spend nine hours in the Hong Kong first class lounges. Then at 9:30 tonight, we board a Qantas flight. That's nine and a half hours. And we fly to Sydney, Australia.
We should have started boarding 20 minutes ago. We're missing out on precious wounds time.
You may now switch on your mobile phones.
Getting through the transfer took about 45 minutes. Which is about 45 minutes longer than I wanted it to take. We should be in the first class line soon.
And we're back.
Kara, what should we do first?
Sushi.
That's how long we have to enjoy the first class lounges.
Starting out with the white appetizer.
How many pieces of sushi did you eat? Too many.
I think I just saw somebody with ice cream. I didn't know they had ice cream. Yes, I do. Okay, thank you very much.
Hi. You just wait.
What?
Thank you very much.
They have ice cream.
Dog. Our time is dwindling so quickly.
I don't like need a shower or anything, but it just felt wrong to come into the Wing first class lounge and not go in a cabana. Since I'm in here, I thought I might as well do something productive.
Well, that was fun. I feel bad getting everything wet for a couple of B roll shots. But if you've never seen the Cafe Pacific Wing first class lounge. You needed to experience it.
Thank you very much.
One more sushi snack before checking out the next lounge.
I'm gonna miss you. I don't know when I'll be back.
One day. This could be the last time ever. Who knows when I'll have One World Emerald status again.
As much as I hated to leave the win, the pier does have a better dinner menu. So we're gonna go there and grab dinner, and then we're heading to the Qantas business class lounge. I can't believe we're heading to a business class lounge. We have access to a first class lounge, but like, a ton of people on lounge buddies said it was their favorite lounge, including the first class lounges. So since we've been to these other lounges two or three times, I thought we might as well try it out. Kara, do you agree with my decision to leave the wing? Not.
Why not?
Except for a massage.
Remember how fast we were running in this direction last time?
Yep.
Should we link it? Show me where we're going to link it.
Here's when we almost missed our flight. Here's the first time we came to this lounge.
And this one. Pleasant.
The chef's specialty is super good. It's gonna be hard not to get that. I also haven't had a good burger. As crazy as that is, I think I'm gonna try the burger. And if it's bad, everybody on the vlog will know not to get it.
I filled up on quite a bit of sushi, so I ordered some cauliflower soup to save room for the Qantas.
First 5Lo business class.
We are pretty good. Nate, on the other hand.
Is not saving room.
It's no. 1. Calhoun.
Is Calhoun's your favorite burger?
I don't know. We used to go there in high school every Wednesday because they had five dollar burgers. And then we got kicked out one time and threw stuff at us. So we don't go. Only 2 hours and 20 minutes till we board. I think they forgot my ice cream.
I should not have eaten that.
That is pret.
Shouldn't have had that ice cream.
I should not have eaten a hamburger. I should not have eaten French fries. I should not have eaten ice cream. I should not have eaten a million pieces of sushi today. But I did all of the above and now I feel like I'm gonna throw up. We're gonna, like, carry in the Qantas lounge. I'm not eating anything for the next 48 hours.
I don't want to feel like you.
Whoa. I had heard this was the least crowded lounge, and it's looking like the most crowded.
How much time do we have? We have one hour and 30 minutes. Should we spend it in here or should we go back to the wing? Your choice.
Back to the wing.
While we have access. Lead the way.
We are so spoiled.
Should have never left the wing. I tried to tell you.
Bye, Qantas and we're back.
Feels like home.
We now have 1 hour and 21 minutes left to enjoy the first class lounge. We should probably consider leaving the lounge about now.
I doubt it. All right. We learned the lesson last time we're leaving.
Probably the last time we'll be in this lounge.
That's a commitment to the vlog right there. Exporting. As we walk to the gates.
We don't even have to run this time.
This feels weird.
This is terrible. We reached the gate and they haven't even started boarding yet.
What were we thinking? Not in business class. But at least we get to board with them. Not in business class, but my one world status still gets us free orange juice.
Best orange juice I've ever had.
I don't feel like it's really hit us yet that we're leaving Asia right now.
We have been in Asia since January 10th. Like almost 90 days.
It's like home.
Everything's been cheap. There's been all types of symbols we don't understand. The food's been fantastic.
Most of the people have been really nice. We'll be sad. I feel like street food is not a part of the culture of other countries as much as it is Asian culture.
Anything like in Asia. Like, people just hang out on the street with their families, like, selling whatever they're selling. It's just so nice. Like everyone's just out all the time.
With that said, I think there is one thing that will cure my depression, and that is the awesome travel we have planned over the next two weeks.
Before we take off, make sure that all your cabin baggage is so in the overhead locker or under the seat in front of you.
I am not complaining about Qantas economy.
Especially since I'm about to move over there.
There is nobody on this flight that's like a business class seat just waiting for you.
Pretty much like business class.
It looks like one of those rolls of biscuits. At any second, my zipper is gonna get out and clothes are just gonna explode everywhere.
No shame. Snap Chat.
This is ice cream flavored.
That's not good at all. I might have a problem with organization. There are, like three levels of pictures in every place occupying my computer. Kara's desk. Stop. It's an organized mess. It's not even organized. It's just a message.
