This is a first-person travel vlog by Nate Buchanan (with Kara) documenting their journey from Tokyo to the Philippines. The chunk covers waking at ~6:00 AM (power outage), checking out of room 1119, aiming to catch a 7:00 shuttle, use of the Japan Airlines first class lounge in Tokyo, arriving in Cebu, following a local's advice to SM Mall (bus fare ₱55 mentioned), then an overnight bus and chaotic transfer toward Oslob to swim with whale sharks; it closes with a late-night, low-quality resort arrival (stains, a lizard) and stress about early snorkeling at 6:00 AM the next day.

It's about 6 o' clock on Monday morning. We have to be down to catch the shuttle bus to the airport at 7. But we woke up and all the power is out in our room.
So we're using our cell phones to get ready. I'm pretty positive I'm gonna leave something. This is our last time in a cold country for the next three months, so we are leaving all of our warm clothes here. We're checking out room 1119.
Yeah. The power. Oh, no problem. See y'.
All.
Taking the earliest bus from the hotel to the airport so we can spend as much time as possible within the lounge because we have access to the Japan Airlines first class lounge.
You'll see.
First class lounges are my new favorite place ever.
I'm currently laying in the greatest massage chair that's ever been invented.
We just had sushi for breakfast. Is this real life?
Apparently. It's time to go.
We probably should have done a better job vlogging that experience. But between the massage chairs and the free sushi, just didn't have time.
It was awesome.
It's.
Please don't make me get off.
Apparently Asian countries have tighter restrictions on carry on baggage.
Kind of nervous apart with this.
It's not like our whole life's not in this bag. Everything we were gonna wear for a year, they lose it. No big deal. We just made it through security. Our flight board's in like 25 minutes. And of course we're going to final Loun. It's hot in here. Can't find the lounge.
Nate's version of hangry is hot and angry instead of hungry and angry. So far, I do not like the Philippines.
Somehow we went out of security and now we have to go back to the security.
Than expected.
We also learned the Filipinos are like me. They're laying all the time.
We made it to cebu.
Take this bus. How much is the bus to SM?
55.
Yeah, what a deal. Take this bus. You're going to get dropped off at SM mall. Yeah, take my word for it. Find a place in there to eat. Then get a taxi there. Take you to south bus terminal. We blindly followed our new friend's instructions to jump on some random bus and go to a mall and get dinner. Then jump on a longer bus to go down to Oslob to swim with the whale sharks tomorrow morning.
Grab that seat.
Nate is dedicated to editing the vlog while we wait on our food. We're also not sure if we have wi fi at the shady resort we're staying at tonight.
This bed Has a couple stains on it.
We have an hour and a half to get to the bus station before the last bus leaves. Otherwise we are stuck in Cebu for the night and we're gonna miss swimming with the Welsh larks. We have no clue where the bus station is. The taxi line was too long. So we're going to hell one in the streets.
What do we do?
Stand here with my arm out. We might be in L. Our cab driver has to pee first.
Is it coming to get us? South bus terminal.
South bus.
Okay.
I've already done exactly what they told us not to.
Yep.
Get in a non meter cab. These roads look dangerous. You better put your seat belt on.
They don't have a seat belt. Do you have one?
No. Oh, we almost died. Oh, we're about to die.
A little tight to your stuff.
Maybe that's it. Okay. This might not be it. Quite the line or something. Do we need a ticket or do we just get on?
Excuse me. Oslob also. I don't know that.
White shirts please. Are you going to Oslob? Oh, there's a line there. How confident do you feel that we're going Oslob?
I feel pretty good. It's not 100% but look at all.
Of our friends that we're going to Oslob with. Yeah.
We're currently at the two hour mark of waiting in line. She's legit asleep. How does she do that? I just heard some people talking and it sounds like it could be 2am before we get on the bus.
We move a little bit.
Understanding. I'll stand.
Yes.
There was a bus.
You like at top of each other standing.
Only got like two more hours to go.
San Miguel beer. God be the glory.
Just call the owner. Hi.
Maybe sleep.
Hello. Hello.
Well.
We'Re here.
We're here. I puked.
Hour one into the bus ride. Cara threw up.
We had the trash gun on the bus.
Hopefully they'll wake somebody up so we'll have somewhere to stay tonight.
Sorry it's late. Okay.
Number three.
Thank you so much. You're welcome. Some type of creature just.
It was a lizard. I saw it scratch across the floor.
Okay. It's past 1 in the morning.
It's past 2 in the morning.
It's past two in the morning. We have to be down downstairs ready to snorkel with the whale sharks at 6am.
And I hope I can sleep tonight knowing there's a lizard in our room.
Couple stain. Oh my gosh. The stains look even worse in the camera.
