Today is day two of our trip to the Atlas Mountains and Sahara Desert with top desert. Last night was so much fun. Dancing with the locals while they were playing music. I just couldn't believe I was actually dancing and singing in the Atlas Mountains with all these local people. It was like a dream.
You really got into the spirit last night.
It was so much fun.
Today we are finally going to make it to the Sahara Desert. We're supposed to arrive sometime this afternoon. I think we'll make a few stops along the way. Something about hundreds of kilometers of palm trees. And then when we get to the desert, I think we're gonna get to try out sandboarding today. Yeah, I think so.
Sweet.
So it's the longest valley in Morocco. Have one like 1200 kilometers for the canal. There is in the middle for irrigation.
We were in the car for about two seconds before we came to the most beautiful lookout. This is the start of 200 kilometers of palm trees.
There's a donkey. Sam.
This sign dates back to the 16th century when it used to take 52 days to get from here to Timbuktu by Campbell. Thankfully, it's not going to take us this long to get to the desert. Now we get back in the car.
We are stopping at the second largest library in Africa. But we can't film inside, so we'll just show you the outside.
That answers that question.
I wish we could have videoed the cutest old man in a wheelchair giving us a tour of that library.
He basically just yelled the English words that he knew at us, like literature and poetry.
While the size wasn't super impressive, the fact that There are over 4000 books written by hand in Arabic in the library was really cool to see.
So cool.
Now on to, I think, people making pottery by hand.
Hello. Nice to meet you.
How are you?
You.
Can you mix it in here?
Try not to break any of these.
Make your head. Okay. Slow. Okay. Goodbye. Yes.
Oh, my God.
How are you making it spin?
Yeah. Is there a pedal inside?
You have it.
One big disc. After me.
Wait.
Big foot. Look.
Wow.
That is amazing.
This is amazing.
You're really good at that.
This is incredible. Look, he's making a clay pot in about five seconds.
A plate.
Oh, my gosh.
That is beautiful.
Do you.
Do you kick that inside?
We have a disc.
Wee bit foot after two articles would work that in hand.
Can I. Can I sit and see if I can move the wheel? Yeah.
Yes.
Okay.
The comfy.
He makes it look easy.
Hey, my friend. No, excuse me. You can make that directly.
Okay. I understand. Yeah. Because if you don't have this one pushed up against the wall, then it like throws you out of the seat. Exactly.
Excuse me. You can take that.
Perfect.
Unuse it.
Clay. Yes.
Maybe for me, no problems.
I think I make pot.
No problem.
For some reason, it's not turning into a pot.
My friend. After eat.
Play.
After you eat that small water you can use. Just okay. Small. Just okay.
Okay.
Nice.
Oh, it disconnected. I don't know what this is useful for.
It's beautiful. He does make it look so easy. I know.
Perfect.
He's good at it.
Good job, mate.
Gentleman. Work it.
How's he doing?
Welcome, my friend. Work it in here.
Okay. I think my time as a pottery maker is coming to an end.
You can go for wash hand in here.
30 jobs. Oh, I'm like Mike Rowe.
You are.
This whole water 25 meters in the ground.
25 meters.
They making a fire?
Yeah, it's hot.
We've learned that the pots lay out in the sun for four days, and then after that they're colored and then put in the oven for five hours where they, like, finish and become part.
How do they do that?
Why do you pour it back in?
To mix it.
Sugar.
And to have the white.
Ah, to make it foamier.
Interesting.
This one's good.
Thank you.
I love it.
Yay. Thank you so much. We got a souvenir. Ram.
We are in the last town before we get to the Sahara desert. We just stopped at this little restaurant for lunch, but I think we're gonna stop today's vlog here because it's already been a huge day and we're not even to the desert yet. So tomorrow is going to pick up with this delicious lunch.
When it used to take 50 fly just landed on my.
Disconnecting again. It needs to be.
No, no.
Okay.
Oh, no.
It's difficult.
It's very difficult.
Very hard.
You make it look very easy.
Yes. Maybe you can work it. Maybe 30 days.
Yes.
