Now for the Fun part of RVing. We are up bright and early this morning. Jordan is empty.
Bright and early for Kara and I. Jordan's emptying the gray water, filling up the tank with fresh water, and we are headed to Milford Sound.
Seems like a very inefficient route.
I know, doesn't it?
Girls are sleeping in the back, which I'm pretty sure is frowned upon by New Zealand law enforcement.
It's a gray area. It's the only way we could convince them to get on the road this early.
Sam.
How's lunch, everybody? Great.
Delicious.
More piano butter.
We just stopped for lunch about an hour outside of Milford Sound on this beautiful lake. But we ate inside because it's absolutely freezing out here.
Quick stop. Getting back on the RV so we don't miss our boat at Milk and Sound.
So the plan was sort of to go to Dunedin. Been calling it Dunedin. It's not. It's Dunedin.
There's not much there, apparently. Nate said it gets made fun of. Their theory is, at least we're not Auckland.
Everybody says, I just saw that on a TV show. Dunedin's don't blame me.
So what we could do is tonight we could just haul it back, drive as far as we can back up. We could even stay at Lake Hayes again.
Stop. And then.
And then tomorrow drive up this, go to Fox Glacier, Friends, Joseph Glacier, or Franz Joseph if you're French.
And then drive up and then head back down to Christchurch the next day. And that's. I mean, this is probably a nine hour drive. So it's a lot of driving over the next few days. But it does allow us to see what people. People say is the most beautiful, which is the west coast.
Pegas there. Jordan.
Creative new zealand.
Wow.
We were originally mistaken. We thought it was one hour from Te Anu to Milford Sound. It's actually two. We just stopped at the Mirror Lakes. Now it's one hour to Milford Sound.
Almost there.
But nobody in the car is complaining. This drive is absolutely beautiful.
I don't know what the name of that place was, but it was beautiful. Back on the road. How long till we get to Milford south for 30 more minutes. To Milford South. Little hairy through here.
Big white arrow. Looks like you had the right of way. Good driving, Jordan. And we're gonna die.
Alrighty. Just come through here at 100 miles an hour.
It's the middle of the day right now.
The darkest and scariest tunnel I've ever driven through.
And longest.
And longest. We are going just like down into the center of a Mountain. It's not like through it down download.
We're here.
Don't get too excited, everybody. Hey, Julianne.
Hey, Kara.
We're here at Milford Sound. We've been driving all day to get here.
Okay.
2008 was a great year for Milford. Sounded the number one tourist attraction on all of TripAdvisor.
What great recognition. Little tidbit for the vlog.
Congratulations. You did it.
Best tourist attraction in the world.
Wow.
Thank you for making this vlog so informative, Mr. Peace. Whoa.
Check out, check out this car. No, just kidding. Check that out.
It's a Hyundai.
We were supposed to be there at 2:45. Six minutes.
Ten minutes us. It took us six and a half hours to get here. We are here for a two hour cruise and we're driving six and a half hours. I'm going on the right like an American.
Charge.
Somewhere.
Actually, we're getting ready to boat somewhere.
So I don't know how it's flying. According to this brochure, we've arrived at the eighth wonder of the world.
Actually, according to Rudyard Kipling, we are.
Taking the two hour scenic cruise with Southern Discoveries. Which means we're going all the way through the sound, out into the ocean and back here to the visitor center. Kara, this is your ticket for the cruise.
Hold on very tightly to this. Don't let it leave your hands. Don't make this like the bus ticket in Melbourne and Sydney.
I'm gonna put it in my pocket.
No, in your hand. Hold it in your hand. All right, everybody saw this.
It's in there. Oh, my zipper stuck.
See why it's so safe? How are you?
Good.
How are you?
Good, thank you.
Thank you very much.
I didn't lose my.
Sa.
You.
I wish.
I wish I knew but only you can.
Don't leave me on.
I wish I.
I wish.
I wish I knew but only you can.
Don't lead me on.
I will shine I wish I knew.
Yes I wish.
I wish I knew but only you can.
Don't lead me on.
I wish I.
I wish.
I wish I kn.
Only you can.
There were only 17 people on the entire cruise, so that worked out well.
Now we're gonna drive back towards Queenstown until we've can't drive anymore.
Until me and Jordan fall asleep at the wheel. Not at the wheel.
America's on three.
I really. My depth perception was way off camera. Had it zoomed in a little bit so my hand wasn't as long as I thought it was.
We found a beach with a very small rock. I wonder if they float.
I don't think you made the proper choice in footwear for this beach.
No, it's pretty hard to make it that up.
Takes about four hours.
Takes about two hours.
We chose the four hour option.
Two hours.
Takes about two hours.
Mate, are you still speaking Australian? I'm petting.
No, I haven't quite figured out the difference between New Zealand and Australia.
Oh, you just speak time with me. To some people.
I like the mum. Don't be mean. Nice comments, please.
Hi. Hi. What? You sneaky. Mom. Where are we? We're here.
Where's here?
Milford Sound. I just like saying Milford. We may name our future son.
Why is he so noisy?
Milford. It.
Let's try it again.
Hold on.
