MUMBAI TO BANGKOK | Our Last Day in India | Jet Airways

A first-person travel vlog transcript by Kara and Nate Buchanan documenting their final day in India: meeting an old friend (Kelvin) in Mumbai, touring South Mumbai (architecture, cricket, landmark), enjoying food and drinks, then flying to Bangkok to regroup before continuing to Myanmar. The piece mixes casual conversational narration, airport/flight scenes, and arrival impressions in Bangkok with brief street-food moments.

We have good news and we have bad news. The bad news is today's our last day in India. But the good news is we're meeting up with an old friend.
So back in 2013, I got my Masters of Business Administration and a guy named Kelvin was in my class. He's originally from India. He came to the US to go to school with me. Not like with me, but came to the US to go to school. We became friends and now he's moved back to Mumbai. So he's going to be showing us around his home city today. And I'm super excited just to get to reconnect with him after five years.
Forever. Yes, forever. Hi, how are you?
Thank you so much. From this point forward, we did more catching up than we did filming, so I thought I'd just quickly summarize our day.
We jumped in a cab and headed down to South Mumbai, where we spent most of the morning just strolling the sleepy Sunday streets, learning the rules at cricket, admiring the beautiful colonial architecture, and stopping at South Mumbai's most popular landmark. The afternoon was pretty much solely devoted to food and drinks.
We went for lunch, coffee, ice cream, and fresh sugarcane juice before ending the day at a hip beachside bar to watch the sunset. So we wanted to say a big thank you to Kelvin and Tejal for showing us a new side of India that we hadn't seen yet.
28 days ago, we landed in India having no idea what to expect. We had no clue clue how many awesome foods we would eat, how many cool people we would meet, and all the fun experiences. And now it's all over. Today's our last day in India. We're leaving.
But it's crazy. We've been here in India for 28 days, which I'm pretty sure is longer than we've ever been in any other country. And I still feel like we've barely scratched the surface. There are so many places that so many people have told us, like, you cannot leave India without going to this city specific place. And there's like 10 of those places that we still haven't been to, but.
We would never make it to 100 countries if we tried to do everything in India. So we have to move on, come back another day. But it is so cool. Like we are. We go to a new country all the time and it's always fun. But India is somewhere we've always wanted to go. And so it's like the fact that we're finally marking this off our bucket list is a super fun feeling.
But today we Fly to Bangkok, which we have already been to, so we'll explain later.
Uber's here.
Thank you.
Thank you very much.
At the airport.
Wrong way. It's. It's that way.
Going down.
Thank you.
Finally.
Wow.
It's only 10:30. We don't board until at least 12, we think. Do we know what time we board? We don't have that confirmed, but that's when we feel like boarding should start. So I'm gonna upload a vlog because the WI fi hasn't worked at our hotel for the last two days. Enjoy my coffee. This is great. The outlets in here don't require a converter and it just put me in the best mood. It's the little things. WI fi is not working.
You win some, you lose.
We started boarding six minutes ago. The usual. We will be jogging to the gate.
You know what gate we are?
We have to go to gate 77, which sounds really far away.
68. We're almost there.
We're the last ones. When he is waiting at the gate, we're the last ones on the flight.
We're sorry, everybody.
Where's our flight?
There's about 14 people on this flight, so no big deal. That's why nobody was up to date. This is your seat. No, this is it. This is it. We always book the window seat in the aisle seat, hoping nobody sits in the middle. But on this flight, I don't feel like anybody's gonna come sit in the middle. I think there's more empty seats than there are people on this fl. I guess nobody's going to Bangkok today.
Not complaining.
So we advise that you keep your seatbelts fastened at all times when seated. It's close to Bangkok. I'll get back to you with an update. Till then, sit back, relax, and enjoy the flight. Once again, welcome aboard.
It.
Thank you. Thank you.
Bye.
Bye.
We are back in Thailand. Thailand has such a special place in our hearts because in 2014, we came to Bangkok and it was our first time in Asia ever. And we just love it so much. And it's been two years since we've been back. We're so excited to be here. We can't wait to eat.
Scary.
Wow.
First try.
Lovely. We are so excited to finally be at our Airbnb in Bangkok and now for the reason that we came here.
So we were originally supposed to be going from India straight to Myanmar. And then when I started looking for flights, I realized it was basically just as cheap to make a quick stop off in Bangkok as it was to fly straight to Myanmar. We've been traveling pretty quickly through India. The WI fi wasn't super good. And we really just kind of like needed a week to regroup and catch up. Bangkok's familiar to us. Bangkok has good Internet. The Airbnbs in Bangkok are cheap. So, like, for all of those reasons, we just thought this would be a great place to just stop for the week, work and regroup and get ready to go to Myanmar. And we were just looking for an excuse to come back to Thailand. We don't have a lot of plans. Maybe we're going to film a video. Maybe we're not going to film a video. So the video that you see next will either be us traveling to Myanmar or I have a really good feeling that Bangkok is gonna, like, get the better of us. And we're gonna have to go out and film at least one video eating some street food.
Speaking of street food, I'm hungry.
That was so corny.
So we walked about 10 minutes from our hotel to this super cute little noodle stand. We weren't sure where to order. There were all these options. And this guy had ordered the soup that was so good, and we asked him what it was and he pointed us something on the menu. So we said, we'll take two. It ended up being some kind of beef wonton noodle soup and it was amazing. But we ended up sitting with a super sweet couple from the UK who recognized us from YouTube. That's why I didn't try it on camera. But it was awesome. And now we're going to find mango stink rice for dessert.
That was right in the lounge.
That happened bad.
How many currencies are in your hand right now?
2. But they look so similar. Isn't that crazy?
Yeah, Travel props.
That sounds like a lot.
Good night.
Alrighty. That's Pocketful.
It.
