I think I meant for this to look like a smiley face.
Date night.
Every day is like a date night.
Yeah, but it's not ain't special once.
We dress up and we have a reservation.
And I'm wearing long pants which is so hot. Supposed to be smart casual. Unfortunately I'm not lugging too many smart casual clothes around the world with me.
Or shoes besides chocos and Nikes.
Sue.
That's what I'm wearing for our date.
We are going to sit on the boat on the top of that hotel building to watch the laser show from.
That angle tonight and SuperTrees. So at 7:45 the SuperTrees do a light show and at 8:00 the clock the marina light show happens and we're on top of the boat. So if my strategy is correct, we'll be able to go to one side and see the supertree show and then the other side and see the laser show on the bay. But first we are going to sweat. Let me correct that. I am going to sweat in my long pants and walk to Little India because the old man that we met eating lunch yesterday said that there is a shop there that has the best satay in town.
There are five things that we were told to eat when we came to Singapore. Laksa, gross chili, crab, delicious fried carrot cake.
One more.
Oh, chicken rice.
Oh and chicken rice which we had yesterday. So the last thing on the list is satay. We have no idea if we're saying that correctly but it's like barbecued meat on a stick.
The old man that told me that this was the best satay place in Singapore gave me pretty fuzzy directions. I'm giving us like a 50% chance of actually finding this place. Man told me to get off the MRT which I think is somewhere over there and then come till you see the first wall of ATMs.
Check. And then go up the steps. Feeling like our chances have increased at least to 70 that.
Now I'm feeling like there's a chance that it's going to be close. I think that might be it.
We haven't had non yet.
You can get garlic naan for a dollar.
Cheese on and one chicken tj.
That was so cool.
This Indian guy sitting right to my right is enjoying the video in more than we are. So much so that he just rinsed off a piece of my non bread and fetish.
He's one of his mouths.
1, 2, 3.
Might have gone a little over. Got a little overzealous on the nine. This entire spread of food was like 650 US.
That was great.
Another fantastic Indian food experience.
Always listen to the locals.
Kara naan or chapati non. Oh, my gosh. I will say both of the Indian restaurants that we've gone to have been, like, super excited to show us how to eat their food.
It's really cute.
It's made those experiences way better than any others.
Any effort we make to be like their culture, they just get so excited.
To the point of feeding me, which took it a little too far. Who knows where his hands have been.
I just took it in slow.
I wish I could have gotten it on camera.
What do we do with this.
Here.
And now? After eating really cheap street food, we're going to one of the probably the nicest hotel in the entire city. That's how we like to do things. Save money some places and splurge when a good experience arises. Better not drink all that.
I saved you the ice.
Oh, thanks. That has kind of been our deal with fruit juice. We've bought a lot of fruit juice since we've been here. I usually let Cara drink the majority of it as long as I get deep the ice.
I like that plan.
All right. We just finished a little photo shoot in the park for the new website that we're building. And now we are on the way to our reservation at the Marina Bay Sands. We are going.
There.
All the way up there on this beautiful night.
I love date night.
Just by taking that.
Whoa, baby. This is not in fast forward. This is real life.
Wow. That is the fastest elevator I've ever been on. I think my ears just popped.
Yeah, I do.
I think we have to transfer.
I'm looking like it.
This view is beautiful.
It might take over the number one spot from the other night.
All right, let's go.
We're gonna go sit in chairs and get a drink and watch the light show.
Lead the way.
It's perfect.
Should I get off the fancy camera?
We have the best seats in the house for the tree light show. Kara's pretty excited. I'm also hanging this camera over a 57 story rail, so if it falls, it's gone. Iced teas were the cheapest things on the menu, and they were $8. This better be the best tea I've ever had. Check out the view.
We watched this slideshow coming from this building from right.
We didn't get to go to the infinity pool, but we got so close.
It's right.
There.
Where are you from?
From the U.S. which part of the U.S. from Tennessee.
Tennessee. How did you know how to get.
Come up here. We went to the Sky 57 restaurant.
Oh, okay.
I think I read on TripAdvisor.
Oh, okay.
Okay.
So you read about it in the TripAdvisor, is it?
Yeah, yeah.
Do you know there's an even better place right now?
No.
I show you how it looks here. I say, be careful with this. This looks like a powerful weapon.
Yes. Why is it all wrong?
Or this the first time I stop.
Or you can hold it like this and you can do, like.
It looks more dangerous when it's round.
Yeah.
Normal tripod is, like, all straight, right? Got, like, a lot of, you know.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So you can bend it.
Oh, you can bend.
Like, we wrapped it. We wrapped it around the wrist.
Oh.
All these things are getting more and more dangerous. And I scolded with a Korean lady because she was swinging her selfie stick or whatever, and although she was wrapped in her back, but she was swinging it so high, you know, while she was talking with her friend. It's like eye level. No, I just told her and said, be careful with that. The way you swing. Don't swing that stick. And then fortunately, she understood English and she turned around, she said, sorry, improvise. Now I have to carry alarm because we got swinging things and all the. The background noises, you know.
Music.
Yeah, it's very loud.
Yeah, yeah.
What just happened?
Did you hear his laugh?
I think he meant well. Yeah. We just need to, like, do clips of his laugh. Just back to back to back to back.
Are you staying here?
We're getting on.
