NASHVILLE to OMAN | Swiss Airlines | KLM Lounge

A travel vlog by Kara and Nate Buchanan documenting their journey from Nashville to Muscat, Oman (early 2018). The chunk covers their flights and layovers (Nashville → Chicago → Zurich → Muscat), lounge visits (KLM, Aspire), airport and hotel scenes, and their excitement about a month-long trip through the Middle East (Oman, Dubai, Bahrain, Qatar). Tone is informal, conversational, and enthusiastic.

In 26 hours, we will be in Oman.
Let's go.
We're in a taxi. We're in Oman.
Today is a super exciting day for several reasons. Number one, this is the first video that we're filming in 2018, which means that this is starting our third, third year of full time travel crazy.
And we're going to a part of the world that we've never been to before. We are going to spend the next almost month in the Middle East. So we are so excited.
Today we go from Nashville to Chicago where we have a six hour layover. Then from Chicago to Zurich and Zurich to Oman.
Muscat, Oman. We've had such a fun few weeks at home resting and catching up on videos. But it feels really good to be traveling and vlogging again.
4:06 in Chicago.
First flight of 2018 is in the book.
Time to go find a lunch.
The KLM lounge is pretty nice. We got in for free using the priority pass, which we also got for free. And if you want more information about that, we'll put a link to the description in the description to my ultimate guide to Lounge Access.
It's also a bit quiet in here, so that's why we're whispering. But since we have some time, we thought we would fill you in on our plans for the month. Like we said, we're super excited about exploring the Middle East. So once we get to Oman tomorrow, we're going to be there for like a week. Then we're going to take a bus to Dubai. Then we're going to get on a boat and it's going to take us to Bahrain and Qatar. Then we're going back to Dubai to explore the city for a few days.
We are so excited.
It's gonna be awesome and it's gonna be hot.
Now we have about.
Five hours to kill here in the lounge. So we're gonna knock out some work and then get on the boy.
And there's a great view in this lo.
It is now 6:45. We are about to board our flight for Zurich and we will arrive nine hours later.
That was a really good lounge. And the time went by way too fast as usual. And they had the best chocolate chip.
Cookies I've ever had.
These two tiny seats are home for the next 10 hours. But there are TVs in the headrest.
So it could be worse. And so many on this flight watches our YouTube videos and said hello to us.
Hey guys. Yeah, I follow you all. Do you really? No. I'll see you later. Yay. That's really crazy. What are the chances? It's my pleasure. Welcome this wide part to our destination Zurich. I do hope you feel comfortable board our a tree Sooty installed itself quite nicely. Enjoy.
We now say goodbye to you hoping that you enjoyed your stay on board.
We made it to Zurich. It is 10:45 here. 3:45 the time that our body is on and we're tired now. Now we're gonna try to find a lounge and get some coffee.
I don't think either one of us slept on the plane. So lots of espresso here in the Aspire lounge and we're going to enjoy the view.
Have to go to Omar. That's really loud.
This flight is another six hours. I feel like we have a job in this car in so long. Stamina is all.
This is all feeling very familiar. We are on the exact same plane and we are basically about to do the exact same flight again minus a couple hours.
A little more sleepy this time.
When we arrive in Muscat, it's going to be 11pm thankfully, it's like not the morning and we're not supposed to stay up.
Quick stop in Dubai.
We just landed. It is almost midnight. So I think we're paying like $26 to go to a hotel and taxi, which is not normally our style. I have no clue if the buses run at night or not.
We also don't have cell phone service here in Oman. Our cell phone plan does not cover Oman, so this is gonna be interesting.
I feel pretty good about this though. Our taxi driver is really nice.
He is really nice. There were so many people at the airport for midnight.
I don't know where he went though.
He showed you a card and then walked away.
I think he maybe like went to pay his parking ticket, but he just told us to get in this car. So now we're just sitting in a.
Car in a parking garage.
He's back. Yeah. Okay.
Our driver seems to be a bit lost. We are just sitting in the car again.
Everything is so pretty in this hotel. So tired. I can't even appreciate it.
Whoa, whoa.
Look at that headboard.
Look at that door.
Look at this closet.
For the record, this is not a fancy hotel. It was one of the cheapest I could find.
Oh, we have a balcony.
Sorry. Sorry, everybody.
Oh, there's a swimming pool. It doesn't look like it has water in it. It's too close for that. It is almost 1am After 30 hours.
Of travel, that made me even more tired.
Four movies, five shows, one taxi ride, three lounges four flights.
We're in Muscat.
We're in the Middle East.
I'm really, really excited about exploring Muscat in the coming days, but right now I'm really tired.
Yeah. Maybe we'll wake up before it's dark tomorrow.
No, breakfast is at 10. I will wake up for breakfast.
Wow. It's so wide. Wow. Don't get any ideas. You're not holding the camera. 2018.
I can, though. It's so lightweight.
Yes. He had to have a massive. Right there, I think.
How do you say hello in Arabic? How do you say hello.
In Arabic? Here. I know.
How can you say hello?
Ah, hello.
Sam.
