Cron Prince Ludwig, later King Ludwig I, married Princess Teresa of saxe Hildersbergassen on October 12, 1810.
The six were invited to a Hidden.
Held in the field in front of the bishop to celebrate the royal event.
And that's why we have Oktoberfest.
If that was important here, I want to do that all again, baby. Get it?
That was a little bit of context from Wikipedia. For those of you who aren't super familiar with Oktoberfest. Today is day two of Oktoberfest for us. We've been here in Munich for four days. Unfortunately, the whole time we've been here, it hasn't stopped raining for more than five minutes. It's still raining. So really all we've seen is the inside of 2, 10 at Oktoberfest. The inside of our hotel room, which is really nice. Today is our last full day in Munich, so we're heading back to Oktoberfest to do as much as possible. Hopefully we'll get to see a lot more than two tents today. Maybe the weather will cooperate.
We're here. It's still raining. Dylan and Kirsten are going to meet us here and we're going to try to get a table together for lunch.
Right now we're just going to cross our fingers and hope we can get into a tent. Cuz we're here much later than we were the first day. Yeah.
It is almost not raining. So we're going to make the most of it and walk around outside while we're not just getting completely soaked. Yay.
There's so much to see.
Yeah. Thank you kids to take this off and see things now.
You brought the camera.
We didn't even make it over to this side of the festival the last time we were here. It's like an amusement park. Garrett's pretty excited about it.
There's been no alcohol consumed at this point.
These are the biggest horses I've ever seen.
We're about to head into the Hacker Festival. I'm sure that's not how you say it. To see if we can find a seat and grab some lunch.
We're getting a table from the nice lady in front of Kara.
We got a seat right off the bat. I have no idea how. Somebody was standing on the table tugging their beer. Everybody's freaking out. And then. He didn't do it. Everybody booted.
Apparently it's traditional to get a half a chicken with some potato salad. That's what we get.
Looks delicious.
That was so good, man. Just started. Things just got really loud.
They are Literally drinking beer out of a carrot spot. But they are literally drinking beer out of the house.
Another guy drank out of his shoe.
We are leaving this tent.
It's raining pretty hard again. This may be a terrible idea. We've seen as many clouds and as many people chugging beer, failing to chug beer, singing on tables. I feel like we did that. Yeah, that was a good 10. So we just talked to this guy who was from Munich. He was telling us which tent we should go to next. I told him the three we've been to. He said, you've been to the best three. So I feel pretty good about that. There's another one that starts with a P. And fully understanding we're gonna look for that one. He didn't say go to that one. He said go to the P.1 with the big beer stein on top of it.
I see it.
Oh, there it is.
I could do a pretzel.
Can definitely do some food.
Should we get a big. Can you get a big pretzel? There's a ton of food on the street that's way cheaper than it is in the tent. So before we head to the next tent, we got some cheesy.
We devoured our pretzel. We're gonna try to hit one more tent before we call it quits for Oktoberfest.
It is amazing how many people are still out pouring down rain.
It is absolutely pouring. I think we have little chance of getting sat in the tent, but the last have plenty of room. I guess coming on a weekday makes a huge difference from a weekend.
Can see with no camera right now, it's very.
These are the. The Swiss cast that we're sitting.
We are officially leaving the tent and all the crazy Swiss people. But I really liked them. We're officially saying goodbye to Dylan and Kirsten.
Bye. Bye.
It was very fun. Safe travels back to the U.S. thanks, brother.
The only other thing we really feel like we need to do to experience Oktoberfest is get what they call a pork knuckle.
We really don't know what it is. It sounds delicious, though. We've now been inside four of the 14 main tents. Since this is our last night here at Oktoberfest, we're gonna try to give you a look into as many of them as we can.
Hey, guys. Got a little too crazy in Oktoberfest. It's still raining a little bit outside, so I'm not sure how many we're going to be able to get into. And here we go.
Let's go, people.
Are so nice in Oktoberfest.
That was nuts.
Literally, like, 75% of that tent is standing on the table singing.
You.
Wouldn't let me in because that was wearing sandals.
You should know those are not traditional Oktoberfest tacos.
It's raining, and I didn't want my shoes to get soggy.
It's okay. Let's go to another one.
We've now been turned down from two tents. The Marshdal Tent turned us down as well. They asked us if we wanted to eat or drink. We gave an honest answer and said no and said we can't come in. Bryce Lee said yes. They're getting pretty strict, I guess. The tents are starting to fill up. How many have we attempted? 10?
Yeah.
No clue where the other four are.
Not sure if there was a reason, but that tent had, like, 10 times as many security guards as all the other tents.
I've learned that German security guards are.
Very enlarged in your huda.
Those guys thought I was Cristiano Ronaldo. That's at least, like, the fifth person today to mistake me.
I would say, yes, he is. Would you like his autograph?
Unfortunately, I can't speak Portuguese and I'm terrible at soccer. Football.
We've done the whole main tent strip, and we've only been in 12.
There's two more somewhere. We're not sure where, but we've heard that there's a cool lookout where you can, like, see over the entire Oktoberfest. So that's where we're heading now. There.
We spotted two more from the viewpoint. Not sure if it's like the official 14/10 of October Fest, but that'll be 14 for us. So we got two more. Then we're calling it a night.
Apparently, that tent is reservation only. One more.
Beautiful.
That tent was way different than any of the other tents. It was lots of quiet, lots of wine.
Everyone was sitting down in their chair.
Small glasses of beer, not liters. I didn't even think that was legal at Oktoberfest. I feel like we can officially call it a night.
What about the pork knuckle?
We may be getting pork knuckles.
Nice and fresh. One pork knuckle dash.
This is our last Oktoberfest experience. Pork knuckle sandwich.
It tastes really fat, really crunchy, and I love it.
Had a pork knuckle sandwich. We had a giant pretzel. We had half a chicken. We went in or attempted to go in 12 of the 14 tents. I feel like we've done Oktoberfest, got.
On a table.
We sang, we danced.
It's been a crazy couple days. We've met people from a lot of different countries. We've had a ton of fun. But Oktoberfest is officially over for. Karen.
Said, you have a lovely dress, but I hate your shoes.
I don't know why he doesn't like them.
The traditional Oktoberfest chocos.
He said, you do not mix this lovely dress for. So.
Keep going.
You can do it. Oh. Where'd he go? Did he die? Oh, he's back.
You're so close.
