We've already had such a fun day. We've started this little routine where we get up, go straight to the breakfast buffet, and then straight to the beach, and it's been awesome.
So today we're doing something that neither one of us has ever, never done before and that I've wanted to do for a really long time. And thanks to go North Cyprus, we're going paragliding today.
That means we're running off of a mountain with the little parachute thing behind us.
It's going to be amazing.
Nate is definitely the more adventurous one of our relationship, so he gets me in these situations where I just have to remember to breathe. So I never want to do these crazy things he gets us into. And I freak out all day, but at the end of the day, I'm always so glad that I did it and can't believe that I was even scared. So I'm thinking today is gonna be the same. I just have to get over it and run off the moun.
And this is the seat that we're gonna be strapped into.
You can try it if you like. Oh, really?
Yeah, try it out, Kara.
This could calm my nerves a little bit or make them worse. Oh, this is nice.
Comfortable. Yeah. Yeah, It'll be that relaxing the whole time.
Oh, yeah.
I'm gonna be like, this lady is 104, and she holds the Guinness book of world records for being the oldest lady ever to go paragliding104.5 months. And to be exact, the weather's looking good, and we're heading out to the launch site.
Got a little hike before we get to the takeoff spot.
What is it called?
Putting on the harness.
All right, Nick, what we're gonna do, we have to run for the takeoff. Okay. When you start running, no sitting, no jumping, and don't bend your knees when the canopy is lifting you up. Okay. Stay on your feet. Run like hell.
Okay.
Okay, this way. Not this way.
All right, you're in charge. You got him going first.
Kinda.
You're gonna lift your knees up and push the harness forward so you can see the inside of the harness. Sitting is easy. You got plenty of time. Concentrate yourself on running and running.
I wasn't nervous until this second.
Wow.
Ready?
I'm read.
I love you. Bye.
And easy.
He's flying.
We were in there in, like, two seconds. This is amazing.
Oh, my gosh. This is insane.
We're about to do some tricks.
Smooth landing.
Not too bad.
Not at all.
Everything about the experience was awesome and just, like, incredibly smooth.
Well done.
There was A tiny bit of adrenaline. Like when we were running off the hill, but the wind picked us up so fast.
Yeah, yeah, it was nice wind for the takeoff.
He survived.
How was it?
It was awesome. You're gonna have so much fun. It like, wasn't scary at all.
I'm so scared for you.
Your first two steps, you're just like flying smoothly. You're gonna be asking him to spin circles.
Sorry, I did my best. But it survived.
Yeah.
It can change if the clouds go a little higher or we have the some kind of window, we can see where we're going. We'll take off.
Okie dokie. It's a bit cloudy for my takeoff. Need to be nervous for a little bit longer.
Ready to get it over with?
Kinda.
The sun's coming out, so we're heading up.
Looks like there might be a little window in the clouds.
Looking pretty scary.
Cleared up enough. He says.
Time to strap in.
We're on our way to pick up Kara. I'm gonna say like five seconds after she got there, she wasn't nervous anymore and she had the time of her life.
We're flying. Oh, my gosh.
Oh my gosh.
This is crazy.
Everything's all okay?
Yes. Are you okay?
Yeah, not a lot.
I can't believe we're flying.
Okay, okay.
Another one too.
Okay.
I'm gonna sleep a bit. Wake me up before we touch down. Okay.
Sweet dream.
All right, bye.
We're on the ground.
Cool.
Yay.
Those tricks at the end.
Yep.
That was so crazy. You are a great pilot.
See the slope coming down?
Yeah.
You take off behind that into the valley, which is facing to west. We did. 4.2 kilometers from there.
Wow.
He lived.
I'm really glad you made me do yet another crazy adventure.
So Oscar and I were about to part ways and I told him that I needed a haircut. He said he knew a guy, something about wax and fire. Yep.
It's gonna be experience for you.
So he's taking me to his favorite barber right now.
Ian Salam.
Hello.
All right.
He's getting his eyebrows trimmed.
I'm pretty sure I don't have enough hair around here to make all this necessary, but I'm just in a pretty experience at this point. Me too.
Are you nervous?
Yes. I've never had wax applied to my body. Look like more nervous about this than I was about fair while earlier.
First one. Yes.
That seems like necessary.
How do you think they're going to get it off?
They only know one way to get wax off. I don't even have any hair on my forehead. He has hair on their forehead.
I missed it.
I put all that on my face. And then. You didn't video getting ripped off.
I'm sorry. I'm sorry.
How's that feel?
Love it. It looks mov. Can I touch it?
Smooth.
Beautiful.
Thank you. Thank you very much.
Have you ever gotten hairspray in your.
Hair before all burns? Oh, it is so smooth, though.
Ooh. Can I go get a haircut?
If you want a fun experience when you come to North Cyprus.
Come to the London Eye Barbershop.
My mother's washing line.
This is my favorite part of you getting a haircut.
It looks like a bowl cut. It's like I have a seat that follows me around anywhere.
