A short YouTube vlog by Nate Buchanan documenting preparations for his brother Dusty’s wedding. The clip shows family setting up for the rehearsal dinner, practicing the processional (moved indoors briefly due to rain), and Nate preparing and later delivering a best man speech. It mixes candid family interactions, behind-the-scenes moments (signs, planners, grandparents), and rehearsal-dinner festivities (cake, dinner, speeches).
Chapters
The entire reason we came home in the first place was for my brother Dusty's wedding. And the wedding festivities have officially begun. Yay.
We've been setting up for the rehearsal dinner, and now I'm working on some wedding posters.
Tell them about this wedding poster that you just made.
Well, I made one.
To show people which way to turn, but unfortunately, I told them to turn the wrong way.
So now she's redoing it with the arrow the other way.
This is sign number two.
This is my Aunt Gawaina. Welcome to the vlog. And Galena is the wedding planner, so make sure everything goes well tonight. This is my mom. Hello, everyone. And my grandmother, who's running away from me. This is Nana.
And this is my other grandmother. Hello, Mamaw. Everybody's been working hard today to get ready for the rehearsal dinner. Dusty, how you feeling today? Feeling great. But also a little tired and sore. A little sore from bubble ball? Yeah, a little raw.
Yo. Made it nice. Dusty and Sarah have picked an absolutely beautiful place to get married. This is the view from their reception area.
We changed and got ready for the night.
And now the rehearsal dinner festivities are about to begin.
Well, we were supposed to be practicing for the wedding, and now it's raining pretty hard. It's supposed to rain tomorrow, too, so we'll see what happens. They might be getting married up here instead of down there. Currently making notes for my best man speech that I'm supposed to be giving giving tonight at the rehearsal dinner. I absolutely hate public speaking. I've been dreading this moment since before we left from our trip. And I knew that I was gonna have to do this. So hopefully it goes, like. Okay. Hey, are the two of you excited for this?
Oh, and hey, Delena.
I don't think Sarah's very excited right now. Yes, it's raining outside, so we're practicing indoors. We'll get that started.
All right, now let's grab the play. And Cheryl. Okay, here we go. So you're behind. Look like you'll walk here.
Now the music will change to the wedding march.
Missing an important piece of this wedding.
It's not raining as hard now, so move practice outside. This is Bailey falling going on the vlog.
Bailey is the best maid Maid of honor.
Still got time to back out. I like it outside. Rain or shine tomorrow.
Rain or shine.
Okay.
And I'm gonna ask for the rings. Who's gonna have the rings? The girls have all been made. I'm responsible. It's the first time.
This is my sister, Kayla. Hello. Kayla's the one who designed our logo. So if you like that, you do design work. I can do it. She apparently does design work while working.
As of this moment right now, she's.
A really good artist. She draws some ridiculously good stuff, but just for fun. Unless you want to pay her money, then maybe for money. I'll take it. She lives in Texas, in town for the wedding. Looking forward to spending some time. She used to be called Nate with long hair. You see why?
That's my cousin Zach and my aunt that's hiding.
We did all the practicing. And now for the fun part.
Time for the best part.
This is the best part of any rehearsal.
We got Chef's Market cake.
That looks.
Like, amazing.
And the best Italian restaurant in our town, Carrabba's.
That looks magical.
Like a Coke commercial.
Looking good, Gracie.
How'd you get everything? Dusty was the younger brother who always wanted to hang out with his older brother and his friends. Probably like most younger brothers. The problem was none of my friends liked him.
But he deserved it. So he got. He was. He was better than they were at things. And keep in mind, he's five years younger, which is a lot of age when you're in your teenage years. So as soon as one of my friends would come to the house, he'd be like, hey, you want to come downstairs and play ping pong? He's like the ping pong champion. And then not only would he beat him and make him feel bad about himself, he was much less humble in his younger years. He would rub that in their face the whole time they were over this because I may or may not have punched a hole in a door in a bedroom. I didn't mean to. It just happened. He's going to come upstairs and he's going to sit down at the kitchen table about half conscious and just. And you're going to be like, dusty, what are you doing? And he's waiting on you. He's waiting on you to bring him his bowl and his spoon for his cereal. And then after that, you have to stand there and you have to ask him what kind of cereal he wants. Set it on the table. Can you port yourself?
Congratulations to you both. Like I said before, I've never seen two people so in love. I know you're going to be super happy, Sarah. Happy to have you as part of the family.
Nate's speech was awesome. I think all the vlogging has made him more comfortable talking to.
Probably the most comfortable I've ever felt standing in front of a crowd with.
A microphone and everyone else's was awesome, too. It was a great dance.
Good night. Congratulations, bestie. And Sarah, hope the weather holds up for you tomorrow. Banging slice Somewhere over here. If it doesn't, it'll still be a fantastic day.
All right, Mommy, you ready to be in the vlog?
You're in it. Aunt Galena, you're stuck. Yeah, this is my Aunt Galena. Oh, my gosh. You have a better chance of getting hitting the head than a mate.
That'S going on the video. Oh, it almost went in.
