Qantas BUSINESS CLASS Lounge (+Sydney Harbor)

A short travel vlog by Nate and Kara Buchanan documenting a morning in Sydney: exploring Sydney Harbor and a ferry ride to the zoo, then heading to the airport and using the Qantas business class lounge (originally believed to be first class). The vlog concludes with arrival in Melbourne and plans for a road trip along the Great Ocean Road.

Kara, what were we supposed to do this morning?
Get up and run.
What didn't we do this morning?
Get up and run.
It is 9am we just quickly checked out of our hotel. We've got like three or four hours to go explore the harbor before we have to go to the airport.
There it is.
Right there.
We made it. It's not a bad view for our morning coffee.
Hey, where is this ferry going?
I don't know.
The only ferry we're getting on it.
Oh, it's going to the zoo. That's where I wanted to go.
Look at that.
And now we have to figure out how to get back. There's the zoo and now we go back on the ferry and we're back. There were like 300 people on this ferry going to the zoo and now there's about three people on the ferry going back to the city.
Samantha.
No batteries included.
This guy, I've never met anyone like him before. I told him I was from the U.S. he said, I've been to New York and California, Connecticut. And I had a lady and we ate my food and he was tapping his belly. He told me he ate kangaroo and he took her around for four days and he just couldn't get over it. And I have no idea what else was in it.
Looks like fun.
It was super fun. His name was Max. We just finished the ferry ride. It was gorgeous. Everything just couldn't have been prettier. It was awesome.
Now we're heading to the airport as quickly as possible because we have access to a new first class lounge today. The Qantas first class lounge.
Going to grab our bags and then coming right back.
We saw a sign that says that this lounge has a very strict dress code and sandals are forbidden. And since Nike tennis shoes are so much classier.
Nate decided to change so we don't get turned away. My sandals are pretty hidden. I'm gonna try to get away with it.
How are you? So far it's going well. Not only did she not kick me out, she sent us to the business lounge. Kind of. We haven't explained.
It's a puny salad compared to mine.
I'm saving room. This is course number one of min.
We do have six hours here delaying.
Future loaded rifles and impounds aircraft.
I left Karen in charge of making the sandwich.
It's looking pretty green. I don't know about all that. Last but not least.
Dessert.
Yes.
Round four coffee to go with our dessert.
Time for dinner.
Mary. And I've gotten an entire bowl of croutons.
Are you serious? What a nutritional salad. Nate.
I got a couple leaves and a lot of croutons.
Do you think anyone else was in here for lunch and dinner?
I think they would change the food options if that was a normal thing.
We're just gonna eat the same courses again. I know a lot of people found our channel by watching our lounge videos. So I thought I would give you a quick tour of this Qantas business lounge. It's basically a big circle. So I'm just gonna go around the whole thing.
Apparently filming it. The business class. And now we're on our way to our gate.
Made it to Melbourne.
Hello.
Shouldn't be far. Yeah, we'll see about that.
Let's put 30 minutes on it so if we get there sooner, it'll be good.
I like that. Expectations lowered.
There it is. I just have to figure out how to get there because this.
We found our room. Are you gonna open the door?
Yeah, but you need to scoot back. I'm playing a game with myself. When you need a video ready. Too low or too high?
I'm too low. You're too low.
Oh, gosh.
This is the heaviest door.
Whoa.
Oh, it's nice.
Melbourne, Australia.
We were about to end the vlog and I realized that I needed to explain one major inconsistency. Earlier in the vlog, we said that we were going to a first class lounge. Like most of the other things that happened in Sydney that didn't exactly work out as planned. It turns out that there are two separate terminals in Sydney. One for domestic, one for international. The first class lounge is in the international terminal. We were flying domestic, so we ended up in a business class lounge for the day. Not to worry. We will get to go to the first class lounge on our way to New Zealand in about five days.
I wasn't complaining about business class though. It was still pretty nice. And in the morning, we're getting up super early to start our three day road trip down the great ocean road. AKA I'm taking a nap the next three days.
All right, we're going to sleep.
Seems silly to only open a restaurant for seven days.
I love any man.
Is that a person or a fake man?
I think he's fake.
So freaked out right now.
He's standing guard. Very still.
He looks like he is after someone.
