Schindler's Factory + Old Town Krakow!

This YouTube travel vlog (Nate and Kara Buchanan) documents a day in Krakow: an early-morning visit to the Schindler Factory Museum (they spent about two and a half hours there and found the exhibits focused more broadly on the German invasion and Jewish life than on Oskar Schindler himself), followed by lunch where they try Polish soups (including a cold beetroot soup, chłodnik) and a dumpling (pierogi) platter. In the afternoon they explore Krakow's Old Town, look for a camera repair shop (discovering local shops don't fix their camera; LCD broken), and discuss camera/phone options (considering Samsung S7 for 360-camera compatibility). The vlog mixes travel impressions, food reactions, and practical notes about gear.

Sam, Dang it. What kind of coffee shop isn't open at 8:30 in the morning? Oh, I can see the roaster back there. This place looks cool.
It's raining this morning in Krakow. We're up earlier than usual. We are heading to the Schindler Factory Museum. Apparently it's supposed to be free on Mondays, but only so many people get in, so we're gonna try to be the first one there when it opens.
Not exactly a hundred people standing outside like I thought there might be. Apparently other people maybe don't care as much about free stuff. I think we're gonna make it.
Oh, no.
You guys enjoyed it? It was good.
Yeah. I really liked it.
We just finished the museum. We spent like two and a half hours in there. It was good, but I feel like I didn't learn that much about Schindler at the Schindler Factory Museum. It seemed like it was more about when the Germans invaded Poland and just kind of like how that affected the life of the Jews.
It was a really incredible museum, though. I'm really glad we went. And now we're gonna go find some.
Lunch because it is almost one o'. Clock. We didn't eat lunch before the museum or breakfast. I don't know who thought that was a good idea.
We came to the cold spot and we order the Polish soup of the day. It's supposed to be sour with mushrooms and meat. And that was all he knew.
In English. Lots of leaves.
Oh, wow. It's like a really hearty chicken noodle soup.
Chicken.
It's like some kind of red meat, like sausage.
It's delicious.
What in the world did you get? I got a cold beetroot soup, also called chuddi.
It does not look edible.
It smells good.
Get in here before my disease gets me.
It's really good.
Is it?
You want some more? No. It reminds me of.
It has a very familiar taste.
Beetroot, Charlie. Like a napkin.
The best.
Tastes delicious.
It's like really good cold beetroot water.
Mine, meanwhile, is beautiful. Yours is.
We ordered the dumpling platter, so it has a bunch of fillings.
Potatoes.
I'm not sure which one's which.
I know there's some mushroom, goose, potato. It's all got.
This one seems potatoey. It's like Thanksgiving mashed potatoes at Grandma's house in a dumpling.
Rainy weather got to us. We took a little nap, and Nate finally drags me on to bed. We're going out.
So we've been staying in the Jewish quarter of the city. And We've stayed there, like, the entire time, so we actually haven't even been to the main part of Krakow, like the old city. So we're going there. We've heard there's a camera shop there. It's like, maybe the only, like, nice camera shop in town. And we're gonna go check and see if maybe, just maybe, we can get our camera fixed and just explore the old.
What percentage chance do you think we have of getting our camera fixed here?
Because this is the new model. I would say, like, between 5 and 10% chance.
Give us a good look at it one more time.
Oh.
Do you fix cameras? Nope. Oh.
It still works well. Like, the camera works, but the LCD doesn't. Yeah, I figured that's what would happen. They said there was a cannon shop in Warsaw, which is like a long, long way.
I did have somebody comment on the email I sent out last night about breaking the camera can and would fix it. So I'm hopeful that if we get back to the US I can get it fixed.
I've accepted that the iPhone is not coming back. Trying to decide if I want to get a new iPhone or if I want to switch over to Samsung, which is something like a few years ago that I never thought I'd be saying. But the Samsung S7 works with the 360 camera, which I think would be really cool to start incorporating into our channel.
So now I'm just trying to decide if I want to spend the money.
I'm not a major fan of the 360 camera yet. I'm sure one day it'll be really cool, but right now when I watch 360 videos, I'm just like.
Why do I look?
I think it could be really cool. It would take some getting used to and, like, figuring out how to, like, really take its shots with it, but I think it could be awesome.
How do you edit in 360?
What?
We're not quite on the same page with the Samsung yet.
I also love Apple.
We are on our way home. We're gonna walk through the center of the old city on the way back, and then we are meeting up with our Australian friends for dinner. I should really start referring to them as Charlie and Jill and not just our Australian friends.
Oh, Australia.
The old city of Krakow is awesome. I can't believe it's taken us, like, three and a half days to get up here. We've just been hanging out in the juice quarter. We didn't know what we were missing.
It's adorable.
The juice quarter is awesome. But this is, like, really awesome.
