A short travel vlog by Nate Buchanan (with Kara) documenting low-budget travel and island life. They report their accommodation cost (~$15/night) and a daily budget (~$40/day), show cheap breakfasts/lunches and snack tastings (including a reaction to spicy prawn crackers), and explore a shallow reef-protected lagoon where they find multiple blue starfish. The vlog also notes a lengthy motorbike trip to rock pools that resulted in sunburn and closes with relaxed beach scenes.

So we're paying like $15 a night for this room. The meals here cost about the same amount, so we've been going super cheap on breakfast and lunch and eating one big meal at night. And this has been breakfast. Dried cereal.
One of my personal favorites. Cara, not so much. And my all time favorite, dried mangoes. So we're living on like $40 a day right now, so we're making up for all the money that we spent in Tokyo, so we can keep going for a whole year.
This is lunch. I didn't really eat like a poor college kid when I was in college, so I feel like I'm really experiencing the poor college life because I always had a meal plan. So I just ate the school's food all the time, and it was great. Thanks, Mom. And D, we also have some chippies.
Barbecue corn chips, and my personal favorite.
These cafe mocha.
Chocolatey graham cracker sandwiches. So this is dessert. It's been fun.
If you watched till the very end of our last vlog, then you saw us stop at Haha's because Kara really liked the name. And we bought some snacks. We. Most of the ones that we bought, we intended on tasting good. This one we just wanted to try. Spicy prawn crackers.
Yum.
All right, here we go.
He said these were his favorite.
Yeah. Oh, that's bad.
Shoo. That is strong.
It tastes like.
Smells like shrimp.
Yeah, well, that's what prawn are.
Really?
Yeah. You gotta eat two, and I'm gonna eat two. Hold them in your hand.
Nope, don't eat them yet.
It smells like.
Smells like Tabasco sauce and, like, rotten shrimp.
I'm thinking it smells like raw shrimp that's been sitting on a platter at a party for, like, three hours.
One. No. Yeah. We gotta do it. I get the water.
Tip of the water first.
Okay. One, two, three.
Now. You guys. So fizzy.
Mmm. Delicious. I'm just kidding. They're not good.
Why are you still eating them?
It's like, so bad that, like, I just need to try it again and make sure it was as bad as I thought it was.
I need peanut butter.
That was fun. If you liked us trying weird foods, let us know. We might do some more. We'll try to talk carrot into it at least.
How about I film you trying the snacks?
No, we both gotta do it. But you have to leave lots of comments or lots of likes to let us know that you liked us trying weird foods. If we're gonna talk carrot into it. Do it.
Let's go to the beach eat, let's go get away they say what they gonna say have a drink clink found the burlap bad girls it's hard to come by the patrol oh, let's go get it on the zone oh, yes, I'm in the zone is it 2, 3 leave a good tip I'mma blow all my money and don't get too lord, lord I love to dance so give me more, more till I can't stand get on the floor, floor like it's your last chance if you want more more then here I am I.
Don'T know if you can see it in the video, but this whole entire lagoon is protected by a reef that's like 300 meters out there. So we're going to go. That's Kara. And way out there is another person standing at knee deep.
We are literally 100 yards out into the ocean, and it's only ankle deep. Just water.
There's a huge starfish. This is the coolest thing ever.
It's all spiky. I wonder if it's poisonous. Oh, my gosh. It's a blue starfish fish.
This is crazy.
I thought it was like a shoe. I flipped it over and it was a star.
This does not even look real.
That is crazy. It looks like he has arthritis.
It kind of looks like Patrick from spongebob. It does, except the blue version.
Blue starfish number three. This one's looking comfy. Maybe they're just really good at playing dead. Surely there's not like three dead blue starfish.
You know, maybe that's the only reason they make it this far in. Maybe if they were alive, they'd still be out on the rink.
Yeah, just waiting on them to move.
We went on our motorbike ride yesterday to the rock pools, and it was an hour and a half by bike. And then we were in the sun at the rock pools for a couple hours and then an hour and a half back by bike. So we both got toasted. So we're gonna be hanging out here in the shade for the next couple hours. Kara, show them your back. Her shoulders are pretty pink. My thighs from the motorbike. That might be like a second degree burn. We are here in the shade, enjoying this view for the rest of the afternoon. There could be worse ways to recover from a sunburn.
Today's getting crazy. We're moving to the beach.
What a great day.
Successful day of relaxing on the beach. Hope you enjoyed the views.
We did.
Thank you.
Blaming it on the train.
Yes. Yay. For three days it was our first time making Crossing Black Line.
Let's go to the beach, eat. Let's go. Get away they say, what they gonna say? Have a drink.
Clink.
I haven't brushed my hair since we left Tokyo.
Living the island life.
Man.
You're so mean.
Just in case you're wondering, this is where Kara laid to get the last shot.
I'm gonna slack with the camera.
