The Maldives Soneva Fushi FULL ISLAND TOUR

This is a YouTube travel vlog by Kara and Nate Buchanan documenting their one full day at the Soneva Fushi resort in the Maldives. The transcript covers a morning island tour (diving center, spa, studios, organic garden, private yacht), a sandbank/hammock excursion, snorkeling with the resort's marine biologist at a reef ~25 minutes away, and a sunset dolphin-watching cruise with large numbers of spinner dolphins; the day also includes multiple meals and on-island amenities. The tone is enthusiastic and experiential.

Good morning.
Today is day two in the Maldives and it is our one and only day on the island of Suniva Fushi. So we're gonna make the most of it.
I just can't eat deal with this right now. The breakfast buffet is massive. We're sitting on the beach. Sun is coming up. All we can hear are the waves and the birds chirping. We have fresh coffee. Does it get any better than this? Like, I'm living my dream right now. This is my dream. And it's even better than I thought it was going to be. It's not even 8 in the morning. I'm already having the best day.
We are starting the morning with a quick tour of the island. This is the diving center.
There's also a spa, an outdoor cinema. An overwater palace that's currently being built. A place where they recycle everything, including glass, which they use in their glass blowing studio. A mushroom growing laboratory. An organic garden with little bunnies.
They're like puppies. Hey, guys, come back.
An overwater bar. Epic kids play place. In case you missed yesterday's video, there's an entire room dedicated to ice cream and chocolate.
For the last stop on the tour, we're going to see Sediva's private yacht.
What? No way.
Last bottom spot.
Yeah. I think I could live here.
This yacht is absolutely incredible. You can actually book a stay here and you have your own chef, your own masseuse, your own dive master. So you can like get a massage in your bedroom and then take a bath in that glass bottom tub in the room.
The tour is officially over now. We are going on our first excursion. It's currently raining, but this is our only day here, so we're gonna make the most of it.
It's gonna be okay. We just got to a sandbank out in the middle of the ocean. It is tiny.
Just us, the sand, the water, and a hammock.
The guys that drove us over here set up this cute little area for us to hang out and then gave us a little cell phone. And now they're leaving. Like, we get this whole island to ourselves. Oh, I just hope the sun comes out. It's not raining anymore. It's not raining anymore. That's a plus. Yes, yes, yes.
We had to call and extend our time because the clouds went away and the sun is out. The water is so much bluer. The sand is so much wider. I'm going to the hammock.
Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.
So happy.
Over water. Hammocks were the greatest Invention of all time. Look at this water.
It's just unbelievable.
Goodbye, beautiful. We just came back for a quick lunch because we have another excursion this afternoon. There's a sushi buffet, and now we're.
Going snorkeling with the resort's marine biologist. We're going to a reef that is about 25 minutes away from the island by boat. Yes, the marine biologist. Because every resort needs a marine biologist.
This is without a doubt the clearest water that I have ever swam in.
Sorry for the interruption. There were three massive stingrays that swam right beneath us. This is amazing. Our guide is so happy. She said she never sees them swimming. They're normally just sitting there covered in sand. So she's just giddy right now.
Wow. That was pretty incredible.
What a great day.
I can't remember if I said this or not, but the Maldives are my number one bucket list destination. And it just keeps getting better. Tonight we're going on a sunset cruise where we're supposed to see dolphins, which are my favorite sea creature. Maldives are my favorite. Dolphins are my favorite. And champagne is my favorite.
Big dolphin spotting.
I see some more.
There's so many. Wow. It's going.
Wow.
There are seriously hundreds of of dolphins right now. And they clap whenever we find them. And apparently it keeps them around a little longer. They're jumping out of the water. Apparently they're called spinner dolphins, and so they're jumping out and spinning and going back in water. It's the coolest.
I can see him under watering.
Wow.
Surprise, surprise. The dinner buffet is absolutely out of this world. We started with tacos. Now I have a fresh plate of grilled fish. I am so, so, so sad that we have to leave here tomorrow, but the place that we're going makes it hard to be too sad.
Yeah.
Up, up, day down as it stays.
Why are they all coming to you? Come to me. I have the food on. Come here.
Come here. Come on. It's okay. Yeah, come on. Come on.
Really?
Left or right?
Right. Right. Sorry.
That was my bad.
Wrong way. I still don't know what to do with myself. So Nate is flying the drone. I'm heading to the other end of the island because I see. Ow. Coral. Ouch.
I don't know if I've said this enough times, but today.
