This is day 2,539 of living on the road. And if I could create the most perfect day in New Zealand, this would probably be it. It all started with talking my sister into doing a polar plunge in Hawke's Bay. It's summer here down in the southern hemisphere, but the morning water is still pretty cold. Then we had a little sister date to the local farmer's market where we got turmeric lattes, hence the yellow mouth, and lots of veggies, including an entire cilantro plant. After cooking our fresh produce for lunch and playing with my nephew Hank so he'll like me more, we couldn't wait to spend the rest of this beautiful day at New Zealand's number one winery, Craggy Ra. It's also top 50 wineries in the whole world. So we decided to go all out and do the biggest tasting they offer, which cost about US$40 per person for eight wines each. They were all fabulous, and Hank approved of the outdoor bun for some reason. When we were finished, this sounded like a great idea. Then ended the day in the best way we knew how. A giant pizza.
