Thank you very much.
Oh, fancy. Oh, this lounge is incredible. The top level is massive. Then we figured out there was this huge staircase that led to an entire other floor. All the food looks fantastic.
I wish we had more than four hours here. What do we do?
As you know, we are back in Nashville, Tennessee and we thought we'd do things a little differently these next couple of weeks. Normally on our vlog we're doing lots of travel y things and we don't really have time to talk about anything else. But our most asked question is about travel hacking. So we thought since we had a little more time, we would make some travel hacking videos.
So today we're starting with our top seven favorite lounges that we've ever been to. And we've been to, like some awesome lounges over the last 18 months. But we're not just going to do this to brag. At the end of this video, we're actually going to be showing you how you can get in airport lounges for free. So make sure you stick around to the end.
I may or may not have purposely booked this incredibly long layover just so we can hang out in this lounge all day. As usual, we are going to the airport much earlier than our flight to enjoy the lounges.
And now we're going to the opposition bar.
We have five hours here to enjoy the first class lounges. After a short jog to the airport, we have made it back to the wing lounge. Time to find a lounge to sleep in. Hopefully we should be in the first class lounge. So now we're going to the lounge. Leaving the lounge put our time between five different lounges.
We're gonna go find a lounge.
We are stamped out of Mauritius. Time to find a lounge. This is one of the best views we've ever had from a loun.
I love it when there's windows.
We are currently in the British Airways first class lounge, which is pretty incredible. I'll show you around.
This got out of hand quickly.
Over the last 18 months, we've been to over 60 lounges and it has made our travel days so much more enjoyable. We actually look forward to travel days. Unlike many travelers who kind of dread them, we spend as much time in the airport as possible because we have access to lounges. We could have picked so many to talk about but we've had to narrow it down to seven and we can't even put those seven in order because they're all so awesome.
We had like a very drawn out conversation about which one was the best and when we Just couldn't rank up.
So we're going to start with number seven.
Number seven is the first first class lounge that we ever visited. It's the Japan Airways first class lounge in Tokyo. We were just like mind was blown.
It was only our first week of traveling full time and it was so awesome. I think even if we went today it would still be that awesome.
They had a sushi bar where like a guy was like literally standing by the bar like making sushi with his hand. So sushi was incredible. And then they had these massage chairs. They're just like the world's greatest massage chairs.
Normally massage chairs are kind of like, you know, I'd rather have a person. But like this one was awesome.
We only got to spend like a couple hours there, but it was incredible.
First class lounges are my new favorite place ever. We just had sushi for breakfast.
Number six is the Qantas first class lounge in Sydney, Australia. It was so beautiful. It wasn't like huge but everything was just so pretty and the whole wall was windows. You could see all the airplanes.
Very elegant.
Yes. There was a full sit down restaurant, breakfast, lunch and dinner. You could order whatever you want as many times as you want.
I had the best calamari that I've ever had. Like the best. The best calamari I've ever had was in an airport. It was so good.
It was crazy good. And the desserts were so unique. We had fairy floss and the dessert.
But I think like the highlight of the entire lounge was the massage.
20 minutes. There was a massage menu, a full.
Like take your clothes off, lay down on the bed thing and get an awesome massage.
So good. Right before our super long flight.
Kara, why are we leaving our hotel room at 5:30?
We're heading to the airport three hours early so we can go to the first class lounge.
Check out this massage place.
It's like a jungle.
Fried calamar.
Sorry.
It's like the least chewy squid I've ever had. I have never had my standard berry. Oh, you've never had fairy plots? You know, where are you from? That makes sense then. Guys, don't know what you doing. Yogi.
Yogi.
This is my parents dog, Yogi. Back to the countdown. Number five is the wing.
The wing first class.
The Cafe Pacific wing. First class lounge in Hong Kong.
I think that's my favorite lounge. I know we weren't doing favorites.
I would be really. It's definitely up there.
We've gotten to go three times.
Yeah, it's somehow it's the lounge we've been to the most because we transited through Hong Kong on purpose while we were in Asia.
Just so very out of the way.
They have a sit down restaurant. The sit down restaurant has a sushi bar. And the most unique thing about this lounge is they have what's called a cabana. It's basically just a really big bathroom with like this really awesome shower, a really awesome tub, and you can just like reserve it and then spend an hour relaxing, taking a shower and getting ready for your flight. It's probably one of the most unique features that I've seen in an airport lounge. First stop of the day, the Cathay Pacific wing. First class lounge.
Check out the view.
Check out this cabana.
It's hard to believe I'm in an airport right now with my bath.
Filling up right here.
Thank you very much.
They have ice cream.
I'm gonna miss you. I don't know when I'll be back.
Number four is also in the Hong Kong airport is the pier first class lounge. So about halfway through our time at the Hong Kong airport, all three times, Nate would make me leave the wing to go to the pier, and I would always be mad that we had to leave. And then once we got to the pier, I was so happy because they have free foot massages, which were amazing. And their restaurant might be a little better than the wing.
They had ice cream.
Their burgers were really good. I think you got a burger all three times.
Well, we were just like in Asia and we were eating all this weird food. And so, like, just to have a really good burger was awesome. Up.
Yes. Please check out this menu. No, no.
This restaurant might be better.
Do you all have any massages available?
Cara? These are our massage.
Yes.
Thank you.
Never too full for a few more snacks. Okay. Number three is a business class lounge in Doha that I can't remember or pronounce the name of, but we'll like.
It all feels like a dream.
Anyway, we had like a 10 hour layover there, but it was overnight. We were coming back from Nepal. We were both kind of sick, and so we really didn't get to fully enjoy the lounge.
But it is seriously, I think, the most unique looking opulent. There's an ocean in the lounge. There's this, like, spiral staircase that's open that goes up to the sit down restaurant. Huge sit down restaurant. We were so not hungry that we just went up there and sat until we felt nauseous.
Unfortunately, the feature that we enjoyed most in that lounge was the nap podcast, which at that time was extremely nice because it was overnight. They had like almost these little beds divided off and you could just sleep.
The worst part about that was though, that like we said, we weren't feeling too well. The ocean was blocking the bathroom from the nap pod. So multiple times during the night we had to get up and walk all the way around the water and then to the bathroom.
The joys of travel. Also, that airport has a teddy bear in the middle. That's huge.
And it's like millions of dollars.
Crazy.
Find a good place to sleep. Yeah.
Look how long this thing is.
What looks like the stairway to heaven right here actually leads up to the restaurant.
The lounge also has all of these things. Number two is the American Express Centurion Lounge. Specifically the one in Dallas, Texas. For the most part, we've learned that international lounges are the best. However, there's one domestic lounge here in the US that is very, very good. We look forward to going there and have spent too many hours in there.
That's probably. That's the lounge that we've been to the most on this list. Again, we transit through Dallas on purpose, so we can go to this lounge. Actually, last time we went through, I had the option to book a two hour layover or a nine hour layover. And I chose the nine hour layover. So we could just sit in the lounge all day. They have incredible Mexican food.
That's the biggest part.
And they have free massages. Yes, the massages aren't as good.
And there's actually a nail salon.
Oh yeah.
But I've never had time to do that.
It's like the kind where you sit in a chair and they do your back. It's not like, take your clothes off, lay on a bed, massage.
We are going to one of our favorite lounges in America, the Centurion Lounge.
This is home for the day massages at 11.
That was the best massage ever. Shortest 15 minutes of my life.
And this is why we love the Centurion Lounge. Last but certainly not least is the Turkish Airlines business class lounge in Istanbul. This lounge just like has so many things.
I think it's the biggest too.
The one in Doha, like size wise is bigger. But they cram a lot into the one in Istanbul.
It has the most.
Yeah, like there's food everywhere.
Everywhere. And people walking around with carts with more food.
It's kind of like a cultural experience too. Like, it's like Turkish food. They also have lots of activities. Like they have an indoor golf range. So you can actually hit golf Balls. Inside the lounge, they also have a track with toy cars so you can race toy cars.
There's this Turkish pizza that they're making fresh constantly, like all hours of the day. We were there all day. They also have a little nap room. It's like a theater room with the big screen. We went in there and slept one time. We've been there twice. And now we're going to the Turkish Airlines lounge.
Got a good feeling about this one. We just spotted this wooden barrel. Never heard of that before. Sounds like something we should try.
Think you got enough food? Fried noodles, Turkish ravioli, pizza. Looking stuff. And healthy.
This place is incredible. We hadn't even, like, seen half of it. That is a honeycomb. Video games, you can play the grand piano. It actually just plays itself. Get a massage, read the paper, play pool, watch a movie in the theater, or watch nine TVs at the same time. We've been to a lot of nice airport lounges, and this one definitely ranks at the top. Circle breads, an espresso bar. Swaddy's making crepes. There's an omelette bar, and delicious past.
So now that we finished the countdown, I've realized that we never said specifically that all of this stuff is free. The food's free, the drinks are free, the massages are free. Like, we've never paid for anything inside a lounge. All this is free.
We really hope you've enjoyed this look back at all of our favorite lounges as much as we did. We've had so much fun looking back at some of our favorite vlogs, and like we said, it's made traveling so much better for us.
So now is the part that you've been waiting for while I tell you how you can get access to these lounges for free. And it might not be these exact lounges, maybe lounges that are closer to you or lounges that you'll be traveling through. But I've put together what I'm calling the Ultimate Guide to Lounge Access. And all you have to do is click the link below and it will take you to a page where you can download it. It's a PDF. Somehow it ended up being like 20 pages, but it's basically seven different travel hacks that you can use to get lounge access for free or close to free. So I really hope that you'll download it and you'll read it and that next time you're sitting in a lounge that you'll, like, leave us a comment or send us a picture or something that would be super cool.
All right.
I think it's over.
Oh, he woke up. Yoshi, say ciaoji. Say bye.
Kara, I think we left the lounge too early.
Is this what people normally do before their flight?
