Turkish Airlines BUSINESS CLASS LOUNGE at IST | Athens to Amsterdam

A travel vlog by Nate Buchanan (with Kara) documenting travel from Athens to Amsterdam via Istanbul. The chunk covers sleeping overnight in the airport, an 11-hour layover at the Turkish Airlines CIP lounge (showing food, shower rooms, and amenities), boarding the evening flight to Amsterdam, and late-night arrival in Amsterdam where they meet a host/contacts to pick up a car.

Is this our home for the night?
Yeah. Yeah. I saw a girl laying like this.
Nice.
I think it's the best. I don't know where you're gonna sit, but I'm sitting right here.
No worries.
Hey.
Hey.
It's time to go.
All right. See you Jordan. Thanks for coming. See ya before Christmas.
It is 4:30 in the morning. We just slept in the airport for like an hour and a half on the ground and now we're going to check into our flight to fly to St. Malone. Also, I'm pretty sure they frown upon filming in this airport. I've seen a ton of no camera signs so the airport montages might be pretty short.
Thank you very much.
Thank you.
I fell asleep in this landing.
I'm pretty sure I fell asleep before we took off and I woke up after we.
It is 7:30 in the morning. Last night consisted of a 30 minute nap, a one hour nap and then another one hour nap on that airplane. Our flight to Amsterdam doesn't board until 6:30 tonight, which means that we have an 11 hour layover. But we're those weird people that get excited about long layovers.
Especially when it involves the big beautiful Turkish Airlines CIP lounge that we were in a few weeks ago with so much food.
I may or may not have purposely booked this incredibly long layover just so we can hang out this lounge all day. And we're back.
Maybe we should nap in the theater. When I said that we should take a nap in the theater, I was totally joking. But that's what we just spent the last hour doing. Now it's time to grab some breakfast.
That is a honeycomb. No clue how you're supposed to e.
I think I need two hands. I'm sure you're supposed to eat this with something, but I'm just gonna use a spoon. Cheeses, olives, yogurt. The most amazing thing I've ever seen in a lounge. Fresh honeycomb circle breads, an espresso bar. This lady's making crepes. There's an omelet bar and delicious pastries.
So since I slept on the floor last night and we have 11 hours in this lounge, I thought I would come take a shower. These shower rooms are pretty nice. Comes with a robe. My favorite. A hair dryer that looks like it'll actually dry my hair. Vanity palette.
Oh my gosh. It comes with a scrunchie.
Keeping that.
Slippers, soap, hand cream. Oh my gosh.
It even comes with a scrubber, shower gel, shampoo.
I love showering at the Airport.
No pressure, but no matter what, this is going on the vlog.
Hit or miss. It's going on the vlog.
I'm scared.
It didn't. You hit the ball, but it didn't register on the screen. We'll give you another shot. Try number two.
Ooh, it's still going. A grand total of 93.
I want to get 100.
It is 4:45, which means that we've been in this lounge for way too long on three and a half hours of sleep. If you want to see, like, a full review of this lounge and everything there is to eat for, like, lunch and dinner here, we'll link our last vlog right here. Like, two weeks ago.
We're both like this. We're both struggling to stay awake at this point. Kara fell asleep editing a vlog with her hand on her computer for, like, at least an hour.
Is it time for dinner?
Time to go. Our flight is boarding. We leaving the Turkish airways lounge after 11 hours here. And to be honest, it flew by. I'm embarrassed with how little we've vlogged. It's been a struggle to keep my eyes open for the last 11 hours. Three and a half hours of sleep was not good to me. Basically, it consisted of drinking a lot of coffee and eating a lot of olives.
Had a great time.
This is a huge deal. We're actually on the jet bridge getting onto the plane, not getting on a crowded, terrible bus taking us to the plane.
At least we're not riding on an overnight bus.
No, we were supposed to leave at 7:30. Not a big deal, except we've only slept three and a half hours.
Oh, it is cold.
We're in Amsterdam.
It is past midnight. We each slept for about three out of the last 40 hours on some kind of weird uphill escalator thing. It was either, like, try to take the public transportation, which we're not even positive if it's running, and then get to where we're going at 2 or suck it up and pay for an Uber and get there in 30 minutes. So that's what we're gonna do. Take all of our money.
Are you having a good night? Yeah. I just began.
We have arrived at the place that's not our place, but the place that we're picking up a car from that's not a rental car. We'll explain later. But right now it's like, almost one in the morning and we have to buzz somebody's room. It is 1:40 in the morning. We have finally made it to our destination.
We had no idea where we wanted to go after Greece, but we knew we had to be in London at the beginning of November. And this really nice guy who watches our vlogs told us that he was going to be in Thailand this month. And if we found ourselves in Amsterdam, we could stay at his place and use the scar. So here we are. Thanks, Enrique.
That was so weird. This is what happens when you're sleep deprived.
We should. I was gonna say something else, but we'll just.
You missed the screen completely.
I think 60 frames makes, like, all the light bulbs overexposed. Looks kind of funky. We're trying it out, though. So if today's vlog looks a little funky, it's because it's all been shot in 60 frames. It started out as an accident. We just kind of rolled with it.
