Walking on Dubrovnik's ANCIENT CITY WALL!

A short travel vlog by Nate and Kara Buchanan in Dubrovnik. The video documents a day at the beach and the signature tourist activity of walking the ancient city walls at sunset (they note the entrance fee, crowds, and views). The couple also dines locally — Kara tries black squid-ink risotto — and they share casual, humorous commentary throughout.

Oh, it's raining really hard.
Tourist agency. Great.
Making a run for a restaurant. This restaurant went out by default because it was the closest.
This is why we're not vlogging today. We're soaking wet.
Pick up tomorrow.
Thank you.
It's a beautiful morning here in Dubrovnik, so we are taking advantage of the sunshine and heading to the beach later this afternoon. We're gonna go do, like, the one thing every tourist has to do when they come to Dubrovnik, which is walk along the walls of the old city.
Jell joined us and now her boyfriend Marky Mark is here.
Hi.
Hello. Swimmin.
Was a beautiful day at the beach all day long. And now we're heading towards the old town where we're going to walk on top of this city mall.
Oh, it may be too late.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you very much.
Thank you. They are making a killing letting people walk around this wall.
Sam.
Sack.
There's no doubt that the wall is absolutely beautiful, especially now close to sunset. However.
I do think this is one of the most touristy things that we've done in a long time. We've been fighting selfie sticks all the.
Way around the wall, but it is great views of the city. I love the views of the ocean and everything I take with this is so pretty because the sun's going down.
I think it's really cool that the wall is like the biggest tourist attraction in the city. Yet just inside the city, you have people living, like, everyday life and doing things like hanging their laundry outside of their window. It's really neat.
The church bells are ringing, which means it's six o', clock, which means we gotta go.
When we bought our tickets, we had like an hour to go, like, around the entire wall. We thought there'd be plenty of time. It took an entire hour, like, just to walk around with very few stops. There's like, lots of little cafes and stuff up on the wall. You could easily spend the whole afternoon up here if you wanted to.
The entrance fee is a little high for us, but I think it's definitely worth doing. It's a great view of the city, especially at sunset. And now it's time to find something to eat.
Heard really good things about this place.
I've been wanting to try something with squid ink for so long, and I'm finally getting black risotto. It's so black. Didn't expect it to be so black.
One of my uncles is a priest. Try it. Try it. Try.
Smells like normal risotto. I'm so scared. Okay, Hilarious.
It's a bit of a joke, but at the same. Because, you know.
But at the same time, it's beautiful.
It's amazing.
And I like Yeah a little bit.
I'm surprised. It doesn't taste inky at all.
What would inky taste like?
Inky like beautiful metal. Y almost is what I was featuring. It tasted. How's my etiquette?
How's the stuffed? Yeah, it's not. It's not black, but there's cheese inside. It's kind of nice. That sounds delicious.
Oh, my gosh. Look at it squeezing out.
Jill brought some goggles. They kind of feel like those little goggles that girls wear when they go to the tanning bed. They're better than nothing. I'm gonna go find some fish.
Hey, J.
This is where they.
Yeah, I think this is where they kept the prisoners. Have fun.
Do you feel luckier?
I feel lucky.
Why are we rubbing his nose? It's the wealth.
Totally made up for Nolan.
Is that a wolf or a whale?
Beautiful, guys.
That was really scary. Gross.
No filter is going to make that look better. You got a little black all the way around your lips.
It's a new trend here.
