WE NEVER WANT TO LEAVE | Ubud, Bali Travel Vlog

A travel vlog by Nate and Kara Buchanan documenting a day in Ubud, Bali. Scenes include enjoying a bamboo/airbnb with a floating-breakfast-style meal, riding scooters to a temple with a notable jungle/forest walk, lunch at Atman cafe (vegan/hip, ‘Eat Pray Love’ vibe), hiking the Kampahan rice-terrace trail, and returning to their villa for sunset. The narration emphasizes low-cost accommodations and attractions, humid weather, photography/Instagram moments, and local food experiences.

What is that?
It's like a Pitbull tiger. Yeah. That is the coolest dog I've ever seen.
Oh, my gosh, guys.
I saw this laying in the grass. Is he real?
I've always wanted to stay at one of those really cool places where you get a floating breakfast. I guess this is close to up. The craziest thing is this Airbnb was only like $60 a night and it's so nice. We have some fruit, smoothies, omelets, coffee.
This is really our only full day in Ubud, but I think we're having a hard time leaving our Airbnb. I just am having so much fun RB house with this pool. Eating in the pool, coffee.
A dream.
It's about Bin Day and we are finally pulling ourselves away from our bamboo house. We're going to go out and explore Ubud.
We are about to jump on the scooters and head to a temple that has a pretty crazy looking entrance. I think we're going there more for an Instagram photo than anything else. That's what happens when you hang out with serious Instagrammers.
We just got to go Gaja. Our tickets were only 15,000 a piece, which is only like a $ish. And we got some cute, sad.
There's not much in there. The outside's the highlight.
Thank you. These ladies always impress me with their machete skills.
In addition to our $1 entrance fee to the temple and our $1 coconut, there's this beautiful walking path, like in the middle of the jungle all of a sudden. Waterfalls and trees and flowers.
Gorgeous.
I think the forest walk was my favorite part of this temple. Although it now looks like I have jumped in a bathtub, the humidity here is at least 100%. I just sweat through my shirt. Everywhere we go.
It is. But at least everybody's doing it. Like, everybody's a sweaty mess.
That's exactly what I was gonna say. We spend too much time together.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. A bit sweatier than that. We really got our money's worth at that temple. I think we each have about a million new Instagrams to post. And now we're serving, so we're gonna get some lunch.
We came to a cafe for lunch called Atman. It's a very like, eat, pray, love vibe. Ubud is where that movie was filmed, if you didn't know. There's a lot of vegan options. It's super hip. We're sitting on the fl. And if you've watched many of our videos you probably know that Mexican food is what we miss the most when we're not home. So we all ordered burritos. It looks kind of Balinese, though, because they wrapped a leaf for a little bit. I feel like it's local.
The clouds have rolled in. It feels so much better now. I'm not sweating through my shirt. And we are about to go do the one thing that I knew that there was to do in Ubud before we came, and that is go walk through some rice terraces.
I don't know what else to do besides walk through them, but I'm excited.
Hopefully the clouds are clear, though, and we'll get a good sunset. Yeah.
So I think we made it to the trailhead. Trailhead. So I think we made it to the trail hut.
We think we made it to the trailhead of Kampahan Bridgewalk Bridge walk, which is the little trail that takes you to the rice fields. We think we heard it was 9km. Not sure if we'll make it by sunset or if we'll make it at all, but there is a cafe in 2km. We just saw it on a sign. So that's our goal.
This is the most exciting I've seen, Kara. About a hike in a very long time.
Because there's coffee at the end. I love coffee. It is so much better than I thought it was going to be. We're just walking to some rice fields in the middle of a town.
That is the cool thing. Like, I thought it was going to be, like, really touristy. And then you had to drive outside the touristy town to get to the cool stuff. But it's just all, like, mingled together.
Oh, my gosh. This kid's so cute. Hi, baby. He's so little.
That's what we should have done.
Is he real? No, I painted it. You painted it. That was cool. Everybody that walks down the path is, like, stopping, taking pictures.
Sam.
We've been walking for a little while, and the trail is great, but we're super far from the rice fields and the clouds are not going anywhere, so there's not much of a sunset. So we're trying to rush back to our bamboo house and try to catch it there. Can you blame us?
I go back to the villa for sunset. We meant stay and take pictures for an hour until it got dark, and now we're heading back.
Worth.
Nice. He matched it with your top.
Okay.
We really got our money's worth in that 125.
We really got our dollars worth there. I think we. We really got our dollars worth.
I'm too hot to think sweating is a lifestyle.
Smooth. Smooth.
I wish this water was just a little bit warmer.
What did you paint it with? Just black paint. Hair color? Hair color. Nice.
That's very cool. That's why it stays.
How long did it take to paint? Just not more than one hour.
Oh, you're good.
Yeah, he's calm.
