A short conversational travel vlog transcript featuring Nate and Kara Buchanan on an island getaway. They leave their resort searching for cheaper coffee (local shops are out stock), experience frequent brief rain showers, spend time editing vlogs, attempt surfing (tiring, reef hazards, limited success), Nate opens and tastes a fresh coconut, and they finish the day returning the surfboard and playing ping-pong. The tone is relaxed, self-deprecating, and observational about island life.

The day off felt weird.
We are leaving.
We are leaving our resort and walking down the road to find some coffee. They have coffee at our resort, but it costs almost as much as our room does. So we are in search of cheaper.
Coffee on a mission.
It's not a very far walk.
Oh, we didn't have coffee yet.
Yeah, we're just waiting for the bins to come.
Ah, Bomber. All right.
That didn't last long.
Coffee shop down the street did not have any more coffee. I guess this is island life.
They said they wouldn't have it for two weeks.
How do you even stay in business as a coffee shop? It does kind of go with the vibe here. Yeah, we're a coffee shop. We want coffee for two weeks. No big deal.
I need it.
Back to the expensive coffee at our resort. When I say expensive, it's like 5 buc is just in comparison to everything else here.
All the kids here are so cute.
We've been here for, like, two days and it's probably rained like five times. But every time it rains, we're sitting under this covered restaurant.
It only lasts for like, two minutes.
And then it's gone. And then it's sunny again.
Just wait it out.
Well, we were planning on going on a walk to Lookout Point, but then the downpour started.
Maybe later.
So now it's back to what we've been doing, which is hanging out and editing vlogs.
So fun.
I am surprised. Surprisingly content.
We have sat here and edited vlogs for way too long. Since we've been here, the people here probably think we're the most boring people in the entire world.
They don't understand.
It'S just been so relaxing.
Time to surf. Going to attempt to surf.
Attempt is the key word here.
We've done it one other time in.
Costa Rica, and it wasn't terrible. No. We wouldn't call ourselves good by any means.
Though looking forward to trying again.
The waves have picked up a little bit. Going to surf.
Going to try to surf.
I'm wearing my shirt inside out because the first time I ever tried to surf, my nipples bled.
Taking my belly button ring out so it doesn't rip out.
Ouch. Yes.
I'll let Kara ride the surfboard out. This is killing my feet on this reef. Ow.
That was terrible.
Terrible. Sheer exhaustion.
Terrible.
Beautiful. You caught a wave.
Yeah, but then I couldn't get out there to get another one. I mean, I physically couldn't get to another wave.
It was extremely, extremely tired.
I caught three, and then I got too tired to do anything. All the waves are over here by these rocks. But all the water is going this way. And so just to get yourself to the waves that you need to ride takes like 10 minutes.
I think I found a full coconut. I'm attempt to bust it open and drink it.
That was easy.
Whoa. Go for it, Nate.
How do you know if you can drink it?
Give it a sniff.
It's white inside. Smells fresh. Smell it.
Yeah. Should I try it? Peru? Yeah.
How.
We?
Good.
Mm.
Are you sure? Why haven't you swallowed it yet?
It tastes good. I just found a coconut and busted open. Can you do that?
I don't know.
No. Thank you.
Hope I don't get sick.
We are returning the surfboard. I think it was worth the seven dollar afternoon we had.
Call it an unsuccessful attempt at surfing.
If anything, we got some good time lapses and a little bit of sunshine.
Time to beat Karen. Ping pong. I'm gonna win.
I need to put my hair.
Just don't hit it as hard, okay?
