Just a heads up. Today's vlog is going to be complete chaos for however long it lasts. La Tamatina was insane, but we survived.
It's 3am we usually don't vlog before we have coffee. But we're about to get on the bus for three hours and I'm gonna go right back to sleep. We are on our way to La Tamatina, which is the largest tomato fight in the world. For that reason, we're switching from this camera to the GoPro for the rest of the day. Here we go.
I feel like half of the town is still awake. This is crazy. So you guys got a little something. All right. Sweet. Come with me.
Got some coffee. Now I'm really awake.
Somehow. This drive that was supposed to take three and a half hours has now taken over five and a half. But we're almost there.
Trying to get off the bus.
The trucks with tomatoes. We have arrived. There's lots of honking. We just saw huge trucks drive by with tomatoes filled to the top. There you go. You can put. Thank you very much.
That didn't take long.
It's getting somewhere.
It's getting somewhere close to 10am which is when they put the ham on the bowl.
And we're trying to make it to the center of town. After somebody touches the ham. That's when the tomato fight starts. The tomato fight. For an hour from 11 to 12, it's already insane. I'm really nervous. I'm gonna get tomato of my eyeballs and my hair. She'll probably cry. She doesn't like being hit in the face. No. I think this is how the locals celebrate La Tina.
They gave us all a box of sangria. We're going to use it as a sangria gun.
You can't enter with this. With this part. With the camera. Yes. But really, really. It's dangerous. What should I do with it? You can leave it in the shot. They made me get my GoPro stick up. I'm pretty sure the quality of this video is going to be pretty bad anyway since we had to shoot with the GoPro. Now it's going to be extra bad. And it's just all chaos. We've made it into the middle of the city.
This is insane. We fought our way 20 minutes to the crowd and we made it to the moon with the Greek ammo clock.
And it's his birthday. Happy birthday. Happy birthday. Thanks to him knowing his successfully got.
It. If everybody was just a little less selfish the ham would have been off the pole, like, 30 minutes ago.
We got to get the ham, baby. We've been watching people trying to get this ham for at least 20.
They get to the exact same spot every time. Everybody slides back down the pole. The festival starts when somebody touches the ham. I don't think anybody's gonna get it, but it starts at 11 regardless. What time is it now? I don't know. Quarter to 11, 10, 42. All right, we have T minus 18 minutes.
Are you okay?
Nobody got the ham.
Sam.
Sad party. Here comes track three of five.
My eyes are burning so bad right now.
I can't believe this is from life.
Charlie, what time is it? It's only been. It's been 30 minutes.
There's another truck.
Trying to get to the balcony.
I have no clue whose house that was. Now I gotta try to get back to Tara through this.
We're making a push for the river.
That was so clean.
It is now 12pm the fight is over. It was insane. Officially. Buenos tard. We're heading to the river to get cleaned off. I don't think I'll ever be clean. I think I'm going to have to wash my hair, like, five times. I never been touching so many people at the same time. It's officially owned.
Cara. It's in my ear. Oh, no. I can't hear anything. I just pulled tomato out of Nate's ear.
That's disgusting.
For the vlog. For the vlog. Come on.
You have. Can you hear.
Me?
