WORLD'S ONLY SKI IN SKI OUT TREEHOUSE

YouTube vlog (Nate & Kara Buchanan) documenting a five-day skiing trip in Whitefish, Montana centered around Nate's 32nd birthday and staying in a claimed "world's only" ski-in/ski-out treehouse. The video shows their progression from beginner ski lessons to cruising blue runs and attempting a black diamond, includes powdered runs and backside exploration, a mid-roll sponsor read for Athletic Greens, a room-by-room tour of the two-and-a-half-level treehouse (sleeps six, ~10 ft from slopes), and closing reflections on the trip.

Welcome to beautiful Whitefish, Montana. I'm going to give you a full tour of the world's only ski in, ski out tree house.
It is so cold.
Dancing.
To warm myself up, throw on the legs. For Nate's 32nd birthday, the only thing he wants is to ski his first black diamond.
Here we go.
Dear Karen, Nate, after spending four years traveling the world and documenting our journey to 100 countries, 2020 brought us back to the US where we bought a converted sprinter van to explore all 50 states. After a magical few days in Yellowstone.
We made this seven hour drive north to our 26th state of Montana, where we're making the most of the last remaining weeks of winter.
Oh, gosh.
That was a lot harder than I thought it was gonna be. Oh, my goodness. Look how tiny my Emily scared my body.
So about a month ago, Nate surprised me for my birthday with a castle.
And a long weekend with my sister. Nate doesn't like surprises, so his birthday was planned well in advance. For his 32nd birthday, he wanted to learn how to ski. Kind of like surfing. Skiing is one of those things that he wants to learn because he feels like it's something that he can enjoy for the rest of his life. If we're being completely honest, I was not looking forward to this trip. So a few days ago, we met up with Nate's brother and sister and their significant others to attempt to learn how to ski.
I can't believe we're all here. This is the best. We made it. We're here.
At this point, we've been here for three days and I honestly cannot believe how well everything is going. Everything about this trip so far has exceeded my expectations. It's especially after how the first day went.
We realized we're a lot further up the hill than where our lesson starts. So this should be fun.
How do I get up to this little hill?
They're gonna be carrying me out of that later today. We all about died just trying to ski a very short ways to our ski lessons. Here we go.
All right.
Oh.
Good work, everybody. I'm exhausted.
I was looking.
All right. We made it to our lessons. We're only 33 minutes late. The lessons we took on the first day made a night and day difference. What are these called?
Slope.
Longest run I've ever done in my first blue. The view from up here is insane.
Okay.
We just came down that.
So much better in one day.
Way to go, team.
And over the last three days, we have progressed from barely really being able to stand up on our skis.
Let it go.
Let it go. Let it go. Sorry.
We may be in a little over our head. That's just defeat.
That's not injury.
To cruising down most of the blue slopes on the mountain.
That was epic.
I seriously cannot believe that that is me. It's crazy.
Whoa.
Whoa.
Wow.
Look at that view.
Okay, two things. One, the reason Nate sounds so weird is because he was skiing with this GoPro mount in his mouth. And two, these mountains were a lot bigger in real life. Okay. All right, back to the vlog.
Today is Nate's birthday.
Happy birthday.
Thanks.
Probably my crates for the day.
We have all progressed way more than we thought we would on this trip. Especially me. I'm more surprised than anyone. So for Nate's 32nd birthday, the only thing he wants is to ski his first black diamond. If you've never been skiing before, runs are ranked from easiest to hardest using colors and shapes. The easiest runs are green circle, the more difficult runs are blue squares, and the most difficult are marked by black diamonds. They're for the big dogs. I don't think I'm a big dog yet.
You get your little tail.
This is the best day ever.
Skiing in winter wonderland.
Wow.
We have fresh snow, a full beaver outfit, and it is the day of my 32nd birthday to attempt my first bike diamond. Couldn't ask for better conditions.
All right, here we go. Outside road. I did not pressure anyone else to do this with me. And the two willing volunteers were dusty. Oh, yeah. And no way.
I don't know what's gotten into me.
I'm feeling good.
Here goes nothing. What could go wrong?
Come on. Come on, Nate.
There he goes. No problem.
All right, they made it on the first steep part. That's not the end. Here I go.
That felt so good.
It's going to get hard here.
My heart is racing. I'm shaking. Did you see me almost lose it?
Real quick, we want to say a big thank you to Athletic Greens for sponsoring this video. If you follow us on Instagram, then you know that we love this stuff. After returning home from international travel last year, we went on a major health kick. And that's when we discovered athletic greens. And it's pretty much been a part of our daily routine ever since. That was a year ago. It is an all in one nutritional supplement with 75 vitamins, minerals, and whole food sourced ingredients. It's basically a multivitamin on steroids that supports gut health, energy, immunity, and stress. Since we're constantly on the road, literally, it's a stage especially hard to ensure that we're getting the vitamins and minerals that we need from our diets alone, which is why we consider athletic greens. Hi, little birdie. That's why we consider athletic greens our nutritional insurance. As we're traveling around in the van, we keep this super cute jar in our fridge and we always start our day with it. Because then we know no matter what happens the rest of the day, our bodies got the nutrients they needed. So if you could use some nutritional insurance of your own. Click the link in the description below to get the athletic greens immunity bundle. It includes a free one year supply of vitamin D drops to help strengthen your immune system system, and five individual travel packs for free with your purchase.
No injuries. Four days.
We did it.
It was a miracle.
Happy birthday.
Couldn't have asked for a better birthday.
Little celebration. Take a nap.
Woo.
We ended Nate's birthday with a long soak in the hot tub. All right, Cheers.
The birthday black diamond, followed by a.
Pizza party with homemade dough from Nate's sister. Yes. She flew on the airplane with her sourdough starter. Do we have like, one pizza per couple?
Whoa. Are you trying to get in on my birthday pizza? Ready for this?
Yeah.
I don't think it's gonna fit on here, though. Don't drop it.
All right.
I'll just be a little droopy.
It's fine.
Most stressful part of the day.
Ooh, it's bubbling and sizzling.
Oh, yeah.
Mmm. Happy birthday, dear Nate.
Happy bir.
Happy birthday. Survive skiing, but not pizza night.
This is so crazy. I think what's happening right now is the definition of dumping. We got seven inches last night, and we're supposed to be getting another three to five tonight. Wow. I don't know how it gets any better than this. I feel bad saying that because I know my family's going to watch this video and they just left. But look at this. All right, we're moving out of this chalet right here and into.
That tree house. Treehouse. Chairlift. Treehouse.
What in the world? This is so epic. This is truly our first day skiing real snow.
Today we're skiing. Last week, we were sliding down ice.
And we upgraded our skis to performance. We're not beginners anymore.
We're on the backside of the mountain. Nobody comes back here, and there's just so much powder. Holy moly.
Look at this snow.
Making fresh tracks down my favorite run.
That's the most snow we've ever skied on. My skis are, like sinking. We're the only ones in sight.
This is awesome.
They have boot warmers.
Gotta get these boots off. Still haven't mastered how to do this gracefully.
Wow.
Oh, it's beautiful.
All I need is a glass of wine.
I don't think it gets any better than going from the slopes to a hot tub in under two minutes.
Literally had my clothes halfway off in the door.
Just to. Just to help you appreciate how close we are to the slopes. Hot tub.
Ski left. Go back inside.
All right, now that I'm nice and warm and dry, I'm going to give you a full tour of the world's only ski in, ski out Treehouse. It is two and a half levels, the bottom level being the biggest. The most important feature of the living room is definitely this fireplace. I cannot tell you how magical the feeling is to be frozen solid for seven hours straight and then walk into a warm, toasty treehouse. And this is the kitchen. We have this giant, beautiful island that doubles as a kitchen table and everything we could ever want in a kitchen. It is completely stocked with a Vitamix 4 burner stove, huge coffee pot, a dishwasher, and it's all just nice. I think when you've stayed in as many airbnbs as we have, you realize that a lot of people end up skimping on the details. But in both the chalet that we stayed in and this treehouse, they've done it right. Look, they even have this, like, framed screen thing that has the temperature outside and the time and the host contact number services. Oh, like if you wanted to book, like, a tour or massage. Never seen something like this.
Whoops.
Whoops.
And behind these barn doors is the master bedroom. This place actually sleeps six people. So while it's not very big, they've done a really good job using the space efficiently because during the day, we can leave these barn doors open and it feels a lot bigger in here, but at night, we can still close them and have some privacy. And those details I was talking about. This bed is memory foam, and it is so comfy. I love our new bed in the van, but this one's hard to beat when I fall asleep if I lay there too long. This is the master bathroom, and it has everything we need. It's very pretty and nice, but it's a bathroom. This dryer, though, is a game changer when you're living on the slopes. When we come in midday for lunch, we can take off our cold, wet gloves, buff hats, socks, put them in here while we're eating, and then we're nice and warm and dry to Go back out. It is the best feeling. And once again, the entryway is so convenient and well designed, with the baskets and the hooks and the carpet and even the little detail of this bench to sit on while you take your boots off. It's great. And up this spiral staircase is bedroom number two. If we were here with friends or family, we would stick the rest of them up here. There's a queen bed and some bunk beds, but you're really not roughing it if you're in this room, because look at the view you get to wake up to.
Should we sleep up here instead? And.
Ow.
Once again, details. Every bed comes with a heated blanket.
And this is the second bathroom. It's just a bathroom. And last but not least, this ladder leads you to the second and a half floor, which is probably the most unique part of the treehouse.
We're in the turret. This is just a round room with a bean bag and beautiful views of the slopes. I feel like I could literally open this window and give someone a high five on the ski lift. And what's really cool is this part of the slope has, like, jumps and rails. You could watch people do tricks from up here, or you just lay down and watch the stars. They're twinkling.
All right, that about does it for the tour. I'm being completely honest. We probably won't be awake long enough to fully enjoy this place. After five days of skiing, I'm going to be doing good to hold my eyes open until it gets dark outside. We'll probably have some dinner, get back in the hot tub, pass out, wake up, and do it all over again tomorrow. But at the same time, I wouldn't have it any other way. I love this feeling of being so exhausted from doing something fun that I just can't hold my eyes open. It kind of reminds me of the bike trip. Mmm.
For you.
Should we take a nap and then try to stay up later?
There's no way we're waking up if we go to sleep.
The sky is so crazy.
Cheers.
I'm so tired. I hate to break it to you, but I'm not sure how life gets any better than this. We may have peaked.
Sam.
Have fun.
Without a doubt, the best part about this treehouse is that you are literally 10ft away from the ski slopes.
You just sank in the snow, so.
There'S no bundling up. Then getting in a hot car. You just walk out the door and take a few steps, clip into your skis, and you're ready to go.
Karen said she wanted to Finish her coffee. And the lifts are open, so thought I'd sneak an extra run in this morning.
Here he comes.
Morning. Enjoy your coffee.
Five days of skiing has really caught up with me. Feeling sleepy today. Nate, on the other hand, is like a little kid when it to comes comes to snow. He has so much energy. It's really cute.
This is about to be the best run of the day. Look at this. This is crazy. Powder Practically untouched.
I can't believe we're the only ones on this run. There are so many people today, it's crazy. But they just opened this one. We're gonna make some fresh tracks.
Let's go.
Holy cow.
I'm not throwing up trouble or what? I love it.
I love it.
I love was completely silent.
Day one.
This would have been like.
Sliding down the ice.
Who?
But did I look as cool as I felt?
Oh.
Yes.
All right, it's official. I'm ready to quit YouTube, buy my yearly pass, and be a ski bum for the rest of my life. It's been real.
I'm not sure I will be happier at any other moment than I was being like, oh, my gosh, I can do this. I can do this. We are trying a T bar for the first time. No pressure, Barrett.
I want to go ride there one day.
Cool.
Don't sit now.
Let it go. Go.
Let it go. Let it go. Sorry.
You're good.
This is my first time. Okay, don't sit.
Don't manage.
Yeah, my bad.
Here we go.
Pitch forward.
The guy was too busy talking to care about her Antarctica jacket, and he forgot to give her the instructions. Bucky's costume. Fresh Snow on my 20. Oh, not even 20.
I just want to put my face on it.
I tan orange cracker.
Excuse me.
Oh, it's hard to walk in ski boats. All right, we are back for round two, and we almost have the whole crew. Sarah, skiing the bunny slopes yesterday. Dusty. Round two. Kaylin's first black diving.
Who are we?
No, girl, we did it.
We all did it.
Carla.
Sarah.
I didn't fall in the bike, but I fell standing up.
One. You're jumping. Three, two, one.
Okay.
What happened? So how are we getting you really sweaty? No, it's not sweat.
Just let me have my morning in peace.
He would let me make the cereal cuz he said I didn't know how.
Practice of championship.
