Nate Buchanan spends the night at the world's deepest hotel, 1,300 feet underground in an old slate mine. You get there by crawling and rappelling, sleep in a cabin or a room carved into the tunnel itself, and eat freeze-dried meals in total darkness. The bed is surprisingly comfortable.
