Breaking Through Invisible Barriers to Your Trading Success

A spoken monologue (YouTube video) by Kardec Trader about recurring emotional and psychological patterns that sabotage trading performance. The speaker explains how the emotional/caveman brain (survival-driven) overrides rational decision-making, causing repeated losses after short-term wins, and argues traders must develop emotional intelligence, rewired neural patterns, and rule-following discipline to become consistently successful.

Have you ever experienced a repeating pattern in your trading? One that you know is going to be there? It's consistent. You always, you know, you localize it and say, you know something, this is an area that I have problems in and I need to stop failing at it. And you try and you try and you try, but darned if that pattern doesn't happen. And particularly it's after you've started winning a little bit, okay? And all of a sudden you start going, okay, I've got it. And all of a sudden it blows up. Sabotage. Or it could be where the trade starts going against you. After you've taken a loss or two and you're sensitive and all of a sudden you're sitting there, you're ready, you know how to trade, you have the knowledge, and all of a sudden what happens is that, boom, you're gone.
And you don't know what happens. And when the smoke clears, you've just taken a big loss, okay? That what you've just done, it doesn't seem logical. And the truth is, it's not. What you have just done is you have seen how powerful the survival instincts of the emotional brain are, your caveman brain, compared to your cognitive function, the ability to think, to be rational, the mind you need for trading. Well, what happens is that without developing your emotional intelligence, you're going to be victims of these emotional patterns that were built.
For short term survival, okay? They're not built for your best interests long term. They are built for your short term survival in that moment. And let's just take this, let's just take a look and see how these emotional patterns take shape. Is that. Let's just say you've been doing pretty well and sudden you took a loss. Okay, I can get past that. The second one, you're a little. And then you're in the next trade and you're sitting there and that trade truly starts going against you. You don't know what's happening. And you're going all of a sudden.
Something. You're just doing crazy stuff. You're betting you're taking good money and throwing it after bad. And suddenly when the smoke clears, there it is another loss. But the thing is, what I want you to see.
This is not a fluke. That's what an emotional pattern built for your survival looks like. What we want to do is go, you know something? What is happening here if you take it? I have a. I have a client who has done mostly very well in trading and her entrepreneurial activity. Activity she has done exceptionally well, very wealthy woman. However, she also has come to a moment where she can match up and she can put four to six points a week down. And all of a sudden you start seeing this. This woman is truly a master trader.
Then inexplicably, she gives it all back.
Okay. Now you look at that and you go, oh, that's sabotage. Oh, but it's so much more. It's a pattern that is built there to help you survive. But it's from the caveman brains notion of survival. Survival, survive, life. It's not talking about in. In trading, we talk about this. You know, something. We have this. We have this good losses and stuff like that. We know we're going to be taking losses. That is just absolutely BS to the emotional brain. To take a loss is to be consumed by the saber tooth tiger. So you're sitting there and you think, but we're. Andy, she's winning. Yeah, she's up big time. I mean, she's trading with a sizable account. So you can imagine this thing's multiplying, but then.
She almost intentionally loses a chunk. Ultimately, what we discover in there behind this pattern.
Is this desired thing that says, if I make money, I'm going to start displeasing people. It just so happens she's from an immigrant family where she has brought many of her villagers over to this world and has helped set them up and stuff like that. She's a matriarch. But what happened is as she started growing like that, they started looking at her and they wanted the money. The money, money. They started making requests. More and more money, more and more money. And after a while, it started taking a toll. People started getting angry at her. People did all this stuff because they wouldn't give her money. You know, she doesn't owe him money. She's. She's opened the door to Freedom Farm, but in her mind, and her belief is that money.
Is producing bad stuff in the family and stuff like that, the more money you have, the more problems you have. And what's happening is her emotional brain, a lot of people would call that this subconscious is intentionally losing to get it back down to where she doesn't have to give all that money away. She won't get the request that she doesn't have any money.
The problem is, is that her leadership that's done all this really good work has to come to the occasion and say, you know something, I need to look at that pattern. No matter how painful I'm looking at it, I realize that I'm going to have to look at it and go, what is the belief behind here? Okay, that's the deal, friends. That belief is the bedrock of the emotion, okay? Now understand that emotion, that emotional brain is going to work and find a solution to a problem. And it's irrational, it doesn't think logically. And when it finds that solution, it's going to lock it into pattern. And once it locks into pattern, it becomes automatic. It's just sitting there. The thinking brain would not know to see it. Even if it were looking right at it, it would not see the pattern sitting there, okay? It's just sitting there waiting for something to come along to trigger it. It just so happens in my client's case.
All these people that she's brought over come and are asking her for money, okay? More than if she were to follow that, she'd bankrupt herself. Ultimately, what's being called for her is to become a higher order leader.
This is not just about trading.
She can be for a month or two just a class A trader.
Yet back in the background she realized that she's disappointing people in her mind, in her emotional brine, when, when she does not take the requests that people are making her for financial things and give it to them, which would again bankrupt her. So you're beginning to see, oh, that's the pattern behind this reoccurring thing. For most of us the deal is, is that at one time.
That, that emotional pattern that formed was very useful, okay? Like for instance, if you happen to be an avoider, you don't like getting in trades, okay? And you're a little anxious about that, understand when that defensive pattern triggers and you're sitting there and you want more and more confirmation, more and more confirmation, more and more confirmation and it's gone to the emotional brain, that's a victory. If you didn't get in the trade, you couldn't lose. And if you don't lose, the saber toothed tiger isn't on top of you. It may seem illogical to you, but that's the way our animal, our social, mammalian brain works. And unless you as a trader begin to recognize that emotional brain is far more powerful than your thinking brain, it is the master. Thinking is the servant. All thinking is emotional state dependent. And what you're doing is that by logically looking at this and not recognizing that this is really, really about taking that adaptive nature that has allowed us to survive and become these extraordinary creatures up and beyond anything we've ever seen. But the dark side of that is we still bring the early programming that can make that dangerous. So we have to fearlessly, we have to courageously. When we see a sabotage moment, when we see the pattern repeating over and over again, that you go, oh my gosh, this is really predictable. Every time I get into this situation, I face this fear. The deal is right now, if you're falling into that game again and again and again, you don't have the skill sets that allow you to turn toward that dragon and to master it. And friends, that's what I want you to check out. With our work, we build a process that first really educates you on what an emotion really is. It's not a feeling, it's not something you avoid. It is a biological action potential. Its job is to coordinate activity between the markets, environment and the trader, the organism. So it's constantly doing this automatically without the thinking brain even knowing it, it's triggering. And that's what's happening in these particular consistent failures in your trading. You have not trained the brain for dealing with the uncertainties of trading. And the first thing that's going to have to happen is you're going to have to examine your notions of winning and losing. Okay, we all want to win, but you do not have control over whether or not you win or lose, okay? And you can't make things happen.
Not like in the regular world. That's why a lot of people have been very successful in the world at large here in different pursuits, and they come to trading, they're going to take the same success formula and push it on to the markets. Well, it doesn't work. There's a completely different set of rules. And besides that, not only do you not control winning, if you're a trader, friends, your primary goal should not be making money. It's to follow your rules, is to become the mind, okay, that can consistently maintain order so that you follow your rules. If you follow your rules, you will be able to activate the edge you have from your methodology and money will come. But that's not the first goal. It is performance, maintaining the performance that allows the edge to show up and extract more capital out of the markets than you're putting back in. Oh, and losing, you know, I can't tell you. Many times I've heard traders say, I hate losing. I'm going. Well, you've got a real problem in trading. Is that really good traders, elite traders, ones that are building wealth. Losing is just something of you manage. And the deal is they become an expert at losing. So they don't blow up accounts, they have risk management and of their accounts, they have that, okay? Because they know they can't control outcome, they can't win every time. There's going to be a lot of losses and they're managing that. So they actually look, they don't look at losing as a bad thing. They look at as something I have to be highly skilled in. Okay? Now to do that, you're going to have to be able to come down and find a deep core sense of worth, okay? That is not about your performance, whether or not you win or lose. It's there whether or not you win or lose. Friends, that's the secret when you have that winning and losing just happen. Winning is just landing on the right side of probabilities. Losing is just landing on the wrong side of probabilities. The deal is, did you follow your plan? Did you have the discipline, impartiality and patience to follow the plan? In spite of all the stuff going around, the emotional brain triggering to saber toothed tigers and all that stuff, Caveman wanting to get up and defend himself or attack the lion, all that, that's back. Then your job is to build a mind. For now, we teach a process. For this, go to my website, take a look, start reading and just watching and recognizing that, yeah, I'm going to have to rebuild the mind. If I want to get outside of the sabotage, I'm going to have to turn toward those sabotages and really look at them tightly to see what's there. What can I learn from this failure? You learn that you fail your way to success. Failure is not a bad thing. It is the way the brain learns and open your mind to learning. Look at our website, particularly our group courses, our individual courses, my book that explains all this or come and get our free book. The thing though is understand this. You need to. You're going to have to take the organic wiring of the brain with all 30 watts of electricity and you're going to have to reorganize it so that it is absolutely doing something that is completely unnatural. Being patient, taking losses and winning is just nothing to get excited about. It's just another day in the jungle. Okay? So I wish you well take a look at the website and really think through this and say, do I really want to invest in myself.
To develop the trading mind that can become an elite trader and generate wealth? It's not going to be with the brain that you brought. Come and learn, friends. Come and learn.
Sa.
