In order to do well in options, you have to understand the basic fundamentals of how options work. So options are pretty much a contract, and that contract is represented under any stocks. We'll use AMD as an example. As an AMD, let's say right now, trading at $95. The reason why people go with options is because they don't have the $95 per share to risk. So that contract gives them the option to go and buy and trade AMD for a much cheaper cost. So the way it works is the contract, a buyer and a seller off that option contract. There's a few components of options that you have to understand. One, every single contract is going to have a date which is going to be your expiration, which means that this contract, when we open up, it's going to expire worthless or a certain worth is going to carry, depending on where price ends. And the second part is going to be something called a strike or target price. If I wanted to buy $95 per share contract, each one contract represent 100 shares off that particular stock. So if I was to buy one contract, I can control 100 shares AMD without having to actually risk $95 per share.
