YouTube trading lesson (host: Ali) about surviving choppy, sideways markets. Ali recommends waiting for price confirmation before taking trend-line break setups—entering slightly beyond a choppy area rather than at resistance—to take less initial risk and allow confirmed trades to run over time.

This little area here is where I would consider a trend line break setup. People listening will go, well, hang on a minute Ali. What about if the chart is choppy? Often when you look at sideways moving chart, you've got a choppy area in the middle. That's still a with the trend area. But I'm going to wait until Price gets out of that way. So the idea being is how can I essentially take a little bit less risk than getting in right at a level, a little bit more confirmation and potentially have a trade in this area here but over time consider running that trade further. I don't necessarily want to get in at the resistance. I just want to wait for Price to confirm that a little bit more and what that allows me to do. Also, if we look at our previous example where I had the two had the levels there. Yes. And then the level here, this area here, I'm going to go against the trend but it allows me, if Price proves itself at that point there to take the trend line break in that area.
