Journey

A motivational program by Randy Howell that teaches personal transformation by learning to observe and restructure one’s biology-driven comfort zone and internal dialogues. The talk uses stories (Elmer Fudd) and archetypes (ruler, magician, sage, warrior, jester) to show how invoking latent ‘hero’ voices and right‑brain capacities (imagination, intuition) can produce meaning, purpose, and lasting change beyond habitual, survival-based patterns.
Chapters
Welcome. My name is Randy Howell. And this program is going to teach you how to transform your life into what you could be, not what you currently are. All through here, you're going to be able to find out how to equip yourself, how to retool yourself, how to reorganize yourself for this emerging world that we now find ourselves in. You'll become more powerful, you'll find a deeper sense of purpose, joy and meaning in your life. Ultimately, that's the whole idea of transformation is taught here in this program. What you're going to be learning is about how integrated our biology, our brain, our mind and our spirit really is. You're going to discover that the brain creates a comfort zone. And ultimately the brain, because it wants to make us survive, not thrive, creates a pattern that we become embedded into. That's called the comfort zone. It's not a business term, it's a biological term. And until you learn how to manage your biology, you will not be able to break the patterns that hold us into self limiting ways of being in the world. Here we're going to learn how to observe, disrupt, and be able to spot the pattern and then be able to change the pattern so that you can become something much more possible for yourself than who you currently.
Ultimately what you're going to learn is the difference between fate, which is about probability, it's about the brain organizing you into pattern, and then that pattern taking over and running your life.
That's called the self fulfilling prophecy. Or in Eastern speak it's called karma versus destiny. Destiny is when you can see beyond the comfort zone and see what is possible for you and then to reorganize yourself to bring forth that new possibility. And that's how you get into deeper purpose, meaning and joy. So the first thing that we're going to be learning about is the power of our biology. And until you learn about the power of your biology, it's really nearly impossible to change effectively. Look at diets, look at New Year's resolutions, look at seminar highs. You know, you go to a seminar, you get all cranked up and three weeks later it's gone. You go back to the old pattern, the point about observer, the observing self. It is the door to transformation. It is exactly the piece that you have to have to be able to grow beyond your comfort zone. Because when you produce observation, you come to the next thing that we'll be learning. You become aware of the internal dialogue masquerading as your thoughts in your mind. What I want you to do is to Imagine.
Elmer Fudd. Everybody here knows Elmer Fudd. And my favorite cartoon of all of his is There is Elmer Fudd. He's hunting bugs. He's hunting that darn wabbit. And he's been hunting him for lifetimes. But this time, by sheer luck, he corners Bugs. Bug been asleep. And there's Elmer. He's got his gun. He points it up. He's ready. He can feel the trigger. He can feel his finger squeezing the trigger. It's the delight. Finally, after all this time, Elmer gets the wabbit. Then what happens next is really amazing. Two cartoon bubbles appear on his shoulders. One, a little demon with horns in red. And on the other, a little angel, complete with halo. And what they begin to do is they begin to argue with one another.
The little demon inside him is saying, kill him. Kill him. Kill him. You deserve it. You finally get him. Kill him. The angel part of himself was saying, spare him. Spare him. Have mercy. He's only a rabbit. You don't really need to kill him. This fight goes on and on and on and on until finally it gets so loud.
That Elmer actually notices it. It wakes him up, and he starts looking at these two cartoon bubbles.
And in his confusion, Bugs escapes.
Hmm. We're a lot like that. We have voices within us that we don't observe. We didn't even know they were there. And as long as we stay mindless, they control us.
Here in waking the observer. And understand, Elmer.
Just lucked into the observer showing up. He had. He had been mindless of these voices, and then he went to sleep again. He's a Carcane character that is supposed to be a mindless buffoon. How about you and I? What we're going to talk about is also the heroic side of the self. The heroic side of the self starts with finding out who you are as a child of creation, not as getting validation externally, but to find within the self this part of the self that is divine, this notion that willed you into being, this notion called God, higher power, that I would define it as the source of all being. When you open that part of the self up and you begin to define yourself by it, you find yourself completely different than who you were when you were trying to prove your worthiness, prove your meaning, prove your importance.
Next, there is other voices within the self that I call the heroic or the inner champions that have been sitting there dormant, ready to show up, ready to become part of the dialogue on the stage of the self that invents the power of who you can be.
The Ruler wants to bring forth kingdom. The magician living within you wants to find the vision, the possibility beyond the comfort zone so that you can live fully alive, fully awake. The sage living within you finds the wisdom. The warrior within you finds the courage that you need to confront your fears, to confront your self doubt, to confront your arrogance, and to embrace something beyond yourself.
You also need a jester, my friend. You need to find mirth. You need to be able to take a joke. You need to find the fun in life. These are the heroes that live within the self. And these are the things that you're going to be waking up. As we go through this programming, it is an incredible joy and ultimately you become to a place where you can observe the internal dialogue. You can spot what characters, what voices are controlling thought. More than that, then you can invoke, you can call up the powerful elements of self that will bring forth a completely different world. You'll find the confidence, you'll find the courage, you'll find the insight, you'll find the innovation. To move from left brain thinking that is now kind of out of vogue. I mean, it used to be the blue collars that got taken overseas, their jobs taken overseas. Now it's the accountants, the engineers.
The attorneys. It's cheaper elsewhere. All this left brain stuff that used to get us by and ensure success no longer does. In awakening the heroes, you awaken and start using the right side of the brain, where your intuition, where your imagination, where possibility live. And that's what we're going to be doing then as you accumulate these, what we will be learning how to do is to challenge the story that has been created by the inner critic and the wounded child of who you are. And you're going to create a new script, a new way of seeing the world, a new life script for you that brings forth a different world. You'll learn how to both confront that and bring that forth simultaneously. It's going to be a great journey, folks. I am excited that you're here. I can't wait to be able to teach you the skills and tools that will allow you to grow a life of deep purpose, meaning and joy. To become who you were born to be, to be able to reinvent yourself as a much more empowered human being in this world and to redefine success, not just financially, but in human terms of what it's like to be.
A person in the world who can bring forth the glory that lives within them. And this is where we start with observation. Welcome aboard. Now let's go journeying.
