Kardec Trader ranks trading tools and indicators from S to F tier, explaining which ones work best for different styles like scalping or long-term trading. He covers price action, volatility measures, and other indicators, rating each by usefulness and reliability.
Price action.
A tier. You can use it alone, but you miss half of the context.
Bollinger Bands.
F tier. It's a proxy for volatility. It change every time. I never managed to be profitable with it.
Trump's truth posts.
S tier if you are Barron. F tier if you are anyone else.
Volume profile.
S tier. Merge with fundamentals is the best model for long term.
RSI.
D tier. It's a lagging indicator and I will not use it.
Deep Trades.
S tier. It's the proxy of the aggression and interaction between orders in the market. It's my favorite indicator for scalping.
MACD.
F tier. It's lagging. It's not precise to time your entry. I don't see any value in it.
Footprint Chart.
A tier. It's really reliable. You have a depth of information that it's really helping you to time your entry, but can be a lot of information to process for a beginner. So I will prefer Deep Trades. EMA. EMAs are not bad. They are like a regression of what the price is doing. I will say B tier, but if you miss the context, you can be always in the wrong side of the market.
Liquidity Heatmap.
S tier. It helps you a lot with take profit, with pressure of the market, and to frame if you are protected by a wall or you are empty below.
VWAP.
VWAP, it's S tier. It's the institutional proxy for alpha execution.
ATR.
ATR, it's B tier, you can use it to frame the correct risk and points to manage the stop loss and take profit, but on itself it's not giving you any kind of edge.
