Pass Prop Firms Using This ICT & Orderflow Futures Trading Strategy ($600k+)

Abraham Perez breaks down a NASDAQ scalping system combining ICT concepts with Bookmap order flow analysis. He uses three timeframes to read liquidity, confirms bias with volume profiles, and executes trades via Inverted Fair Value Gaps and Change-of-State setups, managing risk with 1:2 to 1:11 reward ratios. His approach has generated over $600,000 in prop-firm payouts.

scalping strategy on NASDAQ that he has used personally to make over $600,000 in prop firm payouts.
When I first start, I saw that I waste so much time just trying to identify an opportunity. With the order flow, now I have this x-ray vision, and when I go to the book balance, this is where the magic happens.
This guy has mastered futures scalping by using ICT and order flow. Introducing Abraham Perez. Abraham has over $500,000 in prop firm payouts.
I learned to identify the markets with ICT concepts. That's when the order flow and the price action— that's together. Yes. I don't believe in, in mechanic strategies. I don't think they perform well long term because—
using this exact system, Abraham goes through step by step how he identifies his trades, executes his trades, and performs with a high win rate.
You can see that volume was from the selling side. That was my confirmation. I got in that trade and that was a $5,000 streak.
Abraham no longer guesses. He uses order flow to confirm every single trade.
I'm not just speculating that in a high or a low there's liquidity. I can see that there is liquidity and I can see how the price is reacting with the liquidity.
Not only does Abraham go through his exact system, he also trades live on this episode on Chart Fanatic.
I want to see buyers getting in the price. I want to see the aggressors flipping the puck. This is the most powerful tool that the traders have. This is just the trigger. This is where you get in the money. The confirmation is in your whole analysis. People think that Asia doesn't have opportunities. London is not that good with NASDAQ, but Asia tends to move real well because—
Welcome everyone back to Chart Fanatics, the go-to channel for all of the very best strategy and concept breakdowns in the world with some of the greatest traders in the world as well. Talking with today, I am very, very excited to have with us someone who's going to put to bed the debate that's going on online right now between ICT and order flow, because this trader uses both. And not only that, he's used both using the strategy that he's going to break down today, which is a scalping strategy on Nasdaq that he has used personally to make over $600,000 in prop firm payouts so far. He trades on ChartFunnels Live as well, which we are honored to have him there, but we're honored to have him here today as well. It's the one and only Abraham Perez.
Thank you, thank you, Riz, for having me here. It's a pleasure to be here with you guys.
It's an absolute honor. And I don't know if this has come out before our Words of Wisdom or not. I hope it has, just because people should know your backstory and everything that you've sort of gone through to get to where you are today. But even if they haven't, that's something to look out for, so keep an eye out. But today we're focused on strategy. So where's best to begin?
There's The story behind my strategy is that when I first start, I saw that I waste so much time just trying to figure out how to identify an opportunity. I didn't have a system that I could follow step by step and identify something. So I tried to study the markets and then develop a strategy that helps me cut that time that so much traders waste just going, you know, back and forth from timeframe to timeframe. So the strategy, I call it the system because it's that, it's a set of proven processes that helps me to identify a good opportunity in the market. Definitely. So, uh, for in the beginning, the, the first thing that— and this, this is going to be interesting because I use a scalping strategy, um, if you will, but I like to analyze the whole market as a, as a whole, you know. I, I don't like to just focus on 1-minute chart or 30-second charts. I like to see the overall picture. Yeah. So the first things, the first thing that I want to do is identify the context. What is the market doing? One of the mentors that I had is Charles Dow. And from the Dow Theory, we learned that the market moves in trends cycles. So that's the first thing that I want to identify, is identify the market trend and the actual, actual position in correlation with this market cycle. So let me explain. If we have, let's say, an upper trend, we know the price is going to do higher highs and higher lows. This is really basic, but the thing is that this is really correlated with the liquidity, and that's the cycle. The price is always going for the liquidity that it's above and below highs and lows, and then it's going to rebalance to internal range of liquidity. So in the higher time frame, the price is always do the same thing. It's always looking for external range of liquidity, then retracing back to an equilibrium where the supply and demand has a fair value, and then it continues until we have a clear change of the structure. So we can see in the chart, of course, like right now that The price was almost like accumulating in this area. As soon as the price accumulate in that area, bam, it took all that buy side liquidity. So that's the first thing. Now we made a new high, we took a liquidity, we are facing a resistance that was our previous high, and we can expect that the market in one moment is going to pull back to reach for those orders that are on the fair value. So that gave me the context that maybe not now, not today, but we are in a point where a pullback is very likely. So if we took an external range of liquidity, we know the next step is going to be reach for internal range of liquidity or even change the structure. Yeah, we don't know, we don't know the future, but we can expect a pullback. The market, it doesn't just go up all the time. People thought that with silver and gold, and you saw what happened. Yeah, so That's the first thing. Once I identify the context and I feel confident about what I'm seeing, I go to step number 2. And we're still using the structure, but as I tell you, Dow teaches us that the markets move in cycles and tendencies. There's a macro structure There's a secondary structure and a microstructure. On the secondary structure, that is the structure that forms in the pullbacks and the impulses, that structure that forms like this inside of it. Yeah, inside. This is our secondary structure.
So if you were to take, say, this segment here that you have mapped out It would be a case of then mapping out that higher low. So that line here to then here is what this would look like. So this is your secondary structure.
Exactly. That's the secondary structure. Okay. So I use that secondary structure to identify if my bias, my direction that I identify here, is confirmed. Because I don't— because the price took a high, I'm not getting in a short position right away. I want to see that weakness in the market that is like telling me that, hey, it's time for a pullback.
Gotcha.
So let's go to the, to the charts and look what happens. I tend to use the 15-minute and the 1-hour chart to um, see how the price is reacting with previous highs and lows. So the market to that high, and look what happens. A little bit faster. The price dropped huge, had a huge drop. And when I saw things like this, there's another piece of knowledge from Dow. Dow, he was a really awesome trader. Volumes confirms you the intent.
Okay.
So if you have a lot of volume going in one direction, it's more likely that the price is going to continue in that, in that direction. Yeah. And it's not just a big move. We need volume and closure. You want to see closure with, with, you know, solid candles above or below a previous high or low. Let's say if I have a huge move up closing with a lot of volume over a previous high, it will be more likely that the price is going to continue to that area. So I can, I can just wait for a pullback and then start buying again. When I saw this, I said this might be, um, might be a good opportunity to sell.
This, this, uh, big sell-off here.
Yes, because there was a lot of volume, a lot of volume there. And when I saw the higher time frame, I saw that even in the daily chart, you can see it right here. I'm going to expand this. We had a small fair value right here, but it didn't do anything. It just went all the way down. So when that happens, I like to see, is there another zone of liquidity that the price might be going to? And you can see that we have this relative, um, equal lows.
Yeah.
So the price might go even there because that is a liquidity of this accumulation that was the, the first days of January and December, the end of December, it was like, yeah, it was a really sketchy price action and it was accumulating liquidity. And now we are seeing the intent. They took the liquidity, they took the impulsive sellers, and now they are pushing the price back down.
So would you say that your macro time frames would be your weekly, daily, Would you—
I like to use the 4 hours and daily.
Okay, 4 hours daily.
4 hours and daily just to see context. You know, I want to see context. I want to see what is my internal liquidity, what is happening on the higher timeframe. Because we have to know this, the higher timeframe has the strength of the movement, but every change happens in the lower timeframes. Yeah. So that's why I like to mix them. And the second step, I just want to confirm that, okay, I'm feeling sells. I want to confirm that in 15 minutes when I saw that huge displacement to the downside, I was more likely to look for sells because now the volume is confirming me that the price might continue to go lower.
Yeah.
And that's when we go to the third step. And the third step is the— I will say the easiest one because now we have everything confirmed. We got the bias, we got the liquidity, we got the structural confirmation. We want to identify an entry model and confirm the entry with the impetus of the market. That's when the order flow and the price action goes together. Yes. And everybody now is having this huge, um, you know, thing on the social media between ICT and order flow. And I, I learned to identify the markets with ICT concepts. I might not use exactly his strategies, but I learned to read the markets with him and with the order flow. Now I have like this X-ray vision where now I'm not just speculating that in a high or a low there's liquidity. I can see that there is liquidity and I can see how the price is reacting with the liquidity. Because most people think because the price just took a liquidity above a high, it's going to sell. Yeah. And it's not the case every time. Sometimes it just displaces that liquidity and continues to go up. So I want to see how it reacts with that liquidity. So the third step, I like to identify an entry model, and this is one example.
Should we draw out the entry model? Huh? Should we draw it first?
Yes.
So, so in terms of, uh, just to confirm, macro, daily, 4 hours, secondary, 15, 1 hour, and then micro, you're looking at your 1 minute to 30 seconds, I imagine?
It can be from 5 minutes to lower. Okay, I really don't mind to go to the seconds. I love seconds, especially with NASDAQ. Yeah, and, and people have to understand, not every asset you can trade it on seconds because you will not see any price action at all. But NASDAQ is so volatile, yeah, that if you— let's say you trade 5 minutes, your entry will have a huge stop loss. Yeah. And when you go to the 30 seconds, you can see clear, clear, crystal clear structure that is telling you, is confirming you. Just because there's something that when When people says that, uh, it's impossible to trade cycles, like, people tends to believe it, yeah, to believe it, and, and just practice that.

This is what happened, and this is in Asian session. That's another thing, people think that Asia doesn't have opportunities. And it really is really good. I really like to trade Asia on the Nasdaq. And look what happens. What I want to see when the market opens in Asia, I want to see what was going to do. And the first thing, it opens with a huge volume down. It tries to go up and then look what's happening. Check where it is reacting. Our previous support now acting as a resistance. This is what I call an apex. So the price tried, but it didn't have the volume enough to go over the area, and then it went all the way down here. So again, The price tries to go up and then it encounters this area. And this area as well, I'm gonna put it a bit— here you can see that this area also was acting as a resistance and then it acts as a support. Didn't go through. And it breaks down, it retests the area, and that's when I want to see the reaction. So I told you that the third step, we are going to look for an entry model. And here's one thing, when you are evaluating a setup, as let's say an A+ setup or a B+ setup, How do you evaluate a setup?
I'd say based on the positive expectancy of the trade. So based on the data, how well it should perform.
Exactly. And how do you gather that data?
Through backtesting, journaling, live trading, dissecting your trades.
Exactly. So what I do is I like to go for setups that I have proven records that are more likely to react. Also, I like to see confluences, how many confluences I have in one area, and that can, um, help me to identify a, a high probability setup. Let's say I have, um, like 2 years of backtesting of an IFBG rejecting a previous support or resistance level. If that happens when the price already took a liquidity zone, it tends to go really good. But if the liquidity is intact, that kind of setup is not that good.
Interesting. So that's how you learn the nuances.
But you have to You have to backtest it, you have to gather your data. So I like to see how many confluences I have in one area and then identify the entry model and the impetus. So I use 3 entry models that's on my strategy. The first one is the—
so this is number 1, the first entry model.
Number 1 is the IFVG. This is really trending right now.
Yeah, nowadays.
Yeah. So what I expect is the price to take some sort of liquidity, have a fair value gap here, and then the price close with volume under that previous fair value gap. He's invalidating. Actually, the IFV is the new engulfing candle, but it's basically the same meaning. Yeah. So if I have that and I have the impetus, I'm going to take it. The second one is the change in state of delivery. And this one I really like a lot because it's a whole cycle. We have to have a trend, let's say an uptrend. Then the price reacts in some area. It makes like this candle that is going to sell. Then he manipulates with volume, it breaks, retest, and when it close with volume, uh, below that, I take my sell positions. It could be in, in, in buy too, no? And the—
for the buys, it's just flipped around.
Yeah, is the same thing. Let's say we are going down, the price reacts, let's say, in a support, you think it's going to buy, then he manipulates then displace, retest, and just go.
So it's important that through what you're saying though, which I think is important to highlight, is the nuances again, as you said. So with this, it's not just an inverted fair value gap, which a lot of people might hear and then go, oh, just mark out every single one. You know, they should really listen to what you said, which is we sweep some form of liquidity, sell off aggressively with volume, and close below. So those two little seems little, right? Seems simple, but those two make a drastic difference to the actual performance of the setup itself.
Yeah, and actually the IFVG is one of the models that if you don't have a confirmation with the Impetus in the Bookmap, yeah, with the order flow, it tends to fail a lot. Okay, so I just use them when everything is aligned. And I'm going to show you real quick. So, and the last, the last setup is a continuation model, and this is really easy. I know everybody has heard about this, is the break and retest.
There we go. So that's not allowed in ICT talk. Yeah, it must be a different name.
Yeah, possibly. What I like to see on break and retest is that the price has already started a move. So, okay, I'm not looking for a reversion, I just looking for a continuation. Let's say that the price, it has revert here and it went here. So what I look, I, I look for this kind of break, retest, and then go. Here's one thing, I like to see a fair value gap displacing the previous high. Okay. And I want to see the retest in that area in line and close above that line, that apex. And that has to be aligned with the, with the order flow too.
So, and bear in mind, all of these entry models come off the back of the first element we were looking at, which was the macro and the secondary.
Yeah. And this is One mistake that a lot of traders made is they think this is the confirmation. No, this is just the trigger. Okay. This is where you get in the market. The confirmation is in your whole analysis. You know, I don't know if you use, uh, even fundamentals. You have to do an analysis of the market and know that you have good odds that that direction is going in your favor. So it's not just blindly follow a pattern. I don't believe in mechanic strategies. I don't think they perform well long term because, you know, if there were a mechanic strategy that performs all the time, I think everybody would do it.
Yeah, exactly.
Because it's mechanic, even I can just program an algorithm and it's going to be crazy profitable. But I like to use this just a trigger of my discretionary analysis of the market. So yes, first we identify the context, the bias, we identify the drawdown liquidity. Number 2, we confirm with the structure. And number 3, we want to get in with the impetus. Yeah. So look what happens. The price went to this area and this is really interesting. I'm gonna go low to the 1-minute. So this is what happened. I get in at 11:49 at night, and what I was seeing is that the price was rejecting this zone. You can see that the price didn't have the volume enough to go above that 50% of the range, the last range that made. And when I go to the Bookmap, and this is where the magic happens, it's going to be really cool. Look what happened. You can see here is 23:38, and you can see that the market is trying so hard to go over, but even that I have buying volume, it cannot do anything. So that means that the sellers are absorbing those buys. They are gaining a lot of control in that area.
Should we break down quickly before we move on just what we're seeing, you know, through the Bookmap, what we're seeing on screen?
So right now you are seeing a, a, a map of the order flow in the Action Maker. And this is really nice because the first time that you see this, you may get confused because there's a lot of, you know, uh, images, and it can, it can, you know, um, um, I feel overwhelming. Yeah, it can be overwhelming, exactly. But it's really easy. We have mainly 2 parts, let's say 3 parts. The first one is the heatmap. I'm gonna, gonna turn off everything. So this is the heatmap, and the heatmap represents the passive accumulation or the passive orders. Passive orders are orders that are sitting sitting in a price, in a specific price, waiting to be executed. That is, um, like I say, a market order.
So this would be like limits, stop buys, could even be stop losses, take profits.
Yeah, exactly. Those are the kind of orders that are waiting for the price to be executed.
And they're the passive orders.
Those are the passive accumulation. And here's the thing, a misconception that a lot of people has is that if I see a, a zone with high, a high number of liquidity in that area, the price is going to react really violent. And that is not the case always, because actually what moves the price is not the passive, is the aggressive, the aggressors that are getting in the market.
Yeah.
So How they depict the aggressor with the volume dots. Those volume dots are the, the orders that are getting in the market right now in real time. And even you can see the volume. Let's say if I click this, um, that, this, that black bubble, you can see here in this area in the lower left that it has 14 contracts at $25,897. That's the volume of that order. So those are the ones that are moving the markets. The heatmap is the passive accumulation. It can, it can attract the price, you know, it can be like a magnet to the price. But it's not the one that is moving it. The passive ones. The passive one.
The aggressive orders.
The aggressive orders. Exactly. Those move the markets and those are the market orders that are getting in right in the moment.
Futures traders, it's time to hear about Apex Trader Funding, the largest futures firm in the industry. They have completely changed the game their new evaluations. So far, they've already paid out over $600 million to traders around the world, just like me and you. Now, not only that, Apex actually holds the record for the largest payout to traders, which is of course with Jade Cap, no stranger to Chart Fanatics, with $2.5 million in a single payout. And the person before that was Trader Kane with $2 million in payouts. Now, what sets Apex apart? Apex, you can get up to 20 accounts, which no other firm offers. Now, not only that, they have extremely clear rules. With their revamp, there's no MAE rule, no 5:1 risk to reward rule, no hidden rules, no gray areas, clearly defined drawdown models. So you have two options now: end of day drawdown and intraday trailing drawdown, which means no payout denials, no payout reviews, No discretionary decisions and no surprises. What sets them apart as well? Traders receive 100% of approved payout requests, up to 20 accounts, as I mentioned, and one day to pass. Now, the other thing that I love about Apex is not only can you get 20 accounts, but there's different account sizes. So if they have $20K accounts all the way to $150K accounts, so you can get 20 of any of the account sizes that you choose. Not only that, you have Various trading platforms from WealthCharts to Tradovate to Ribmic. The choice is yours. So make sure you use the code CF to get up to 90% off on evaluations right now using the link in the description below. Trade at Apex today. Let's get back to the episode.
The other thing that you see here is the, basically the current order current order book. Yep. Is the price, and what you're seeing here is the number of contracts that are in those prices. Between 21, 16, you have a decent amount of liquidity there. But here's the thing, we have also this yellow line, that's the POC, the point of control. This is based on the session volume profile Another beef in the internet using ICT. Bro, I like ICT and I like the volume profile. What can I say?
And you're winning.
And I'm winning. The point of control is the zone where the most quantity of orders of volume are in that volume profile and it acts as a support or resistance. Also, we have that purple line that is the VWAP. It's like the point of control, but it's anchored to the price. Yeah. And it is dynamic. It's more dynamic than the POC. The POC tends to go direct. It can recalculate.
So the key 3, that would be your passive orders, your aggressive orders, and then your book. What was on the side?
Sorry, the current order book.
The current order book. Are those the 3 that you originally mentioned? Exactly. And then the other layers are your POC and your VWAP.
The POC and the VWAP. And this is really powerful because you can see that the price was reacting. And I'm going to go back to the chart. You can see that the price was reacting in a support level. And when you go to the Bookmap, you can see that you have the point of control there. There's no wonder why the price is not going over that area.
So on here, would that area be these two highs here?
Exactly, gotcha. This area. So in one moment, the buyers lost all the power. I'm going to show you the volume because this is one thing that I like to see. They lost the power. This was like the last pushes, and then you can see that no more strong buys. Yeah. And then they lost the point of control right here. The price uses the point of control as a resistance and it starts to going down. I'm getting in right there? No, because I need to see the price action that is going aligned with me. So what I see, what I saw was this. The price right here try to go, it breaks hard below this area, it retested, and then just went away. So this is some kind of this changing state of delivery when you see like the price react with a support, it tries to sell, manipulates, and then breaks to the real movement. And then it retest the area. I, I like to draw a line between that last low and it didn't, um, go over. But look what I was seeing in the bookmap. Look what happened at exactly at 49. Boom! What happens? The point of control went here. Why that happens? That means that a lot of volume got in the market in that moment. You can see that that volume was from the selling side. So that was my confirmation. I got in that trade and that was a $5,000 trade. Wow. Was with 2 contracts, 2 minis, and was on 500 ticks. Was a really awesome, awesome trade. You can see what happened next.
So it goes to the VWAP, was in the exact same place as well.
And you can see that the price went all the way down. It was always using the point of control and the VWAP as a support and resistance. And what happened in the price action, I just let it rise. It was always using that support, and then the sellers got really aggressive and boom.
How do you judge your take profits for yourself?
So this one, I usually go for a 1:2. I'm a scalper, but in this particular trade, there was liquidity in this area. And also I had this previous low, I had this, this fair value gap. I would like to let it go, um, farther away, but because I have an area that could, um, react, react, so I like to set my take profit, um, just before that, just before that, exactly. So I can just go out.
So this trade presented you quite a large risk to reward as well?
Yeah, this was like a, it was one of my best trades. 1:11.
Wow.
Yeah, it was a high, high RR. So I'm going to show you another example from New York. There was another trade that I took. And you are going to see that it's really different from this one in Asia. One thing that I like about Asia is when everything's aligned, it doesn't tend to reverse. Yeah, it goes to the—
you say less manipulation.
Yes, it's really cool. I like it. London is not that good with NASDAQ, but Asia tends to move real well. So this example was in, in New York. We are using the same analysis as Asia because we are still going Um, of the same, yeah, macro and secondary structure. Exactly. So it, it hasn't, um, revert that analysis. So I have more, um, let's say, uh, probabilities that the price is going to keep going in my favor. Yeah. So I was looking for sales, but this one was really, really tricky because in the, in the market open it just accumulates a lot. Yeah, you can see it accumulates a lot, a lot. And when I saw the Bookmap, it was— that was that, that movement. So you can see since the open, the market just accumulate in that area and And look what is interesting. If I go to the 15-minute chart, you're going to see that is exactly the same, the same area that the price was reacting on Asia. It's the same. And you can see even the volume, the price never closed above.
Interesting.
Even that the price went all the way to the golden ratio, the 62% level on the Fibonacci. Never close with volume above that area. And that is, that's telling you something, you know. The buyers are not having the, the power enough to, to gain, you know, the traction to go to the buy side. So it's more probable that it's going to take liquidity in the downside. But the thing is that the price was not giving me the entry because, okay, when I saw the Order flow, you can see the battle was real. You can see all that volume in buying, all that volume in selling, volume in buying. It was really balanced. You can see, and that's what is accumulating. And it's accumulating between two big zones of liquidity. Look, this zone with 95 contracts and this zone with 102 contracts. Those could be spoof. Those are fake orders to manipulate the price action, the algorithms. In the markets. But the thing is, right now I'm not seeing anything to get in the market, so I have to wait. And look what happened, what happens here. The price try here, try here, try here, nothing, nothing, nothing. But in this time, the price did a really, really nice Nice pattern. That's the IFB with volume taking that previous highs. And looks how it looks in the, in the book map. So what is happening? You saw how, how the, the buyers are losing the point of control again.
Would you say, just one sec, the, the book map is quite more spread out in its information versus the candles?
Because it's not, um, it's not about time frame. When you see a candle, that is a depiction of the buying and selling in one determinate, um, time frame. Say if you are seeing the 1-minute charts, you're seeing, you're seeing the development of the price in 1 minute. Gotcha. But in the order flow, it's real time. Okay, it's seconds.
So that's why there's so much more information.
There's so much more information. And at the same time, it's really good because when the momentum is getting in, it's not too late to get in. Because that's the thing that happened with price action. And let's say if you're afraid to trade below 5 minutes in Nasdaq and you want to scalp Nasdaq, it can be really hard. And sometimes when you have your confirmation, the move already happens. True. And sometimes it's just best to, you know, stop the day and don't do anything. So what I wait was for this, exactly this. The price, the buyers lost the control of the, of the puck. Yeah. Now they are going to retest the VWAP and that can reverse. But now I'm seeing, and you can see it too, that the buyers has less volumes And the sellers has those huge spikes. So that means that the volume, the aggressors are, are gaining more strength in the selling side. Yeah. So let's continue to 10:50 was the moment that I took my opportunity. You can see it went for that liquidity. And now it's going to retest the area. It took that— you saw that? Yep, it took that liquidity and then it didn't have the strength to keep up. This— what is happening here is just the accumulation still. See, from 30 to 40, let's see in the chart. What you're seeing is this, this move, this move. Now that the price is going to be here, now it's going to get interesting like this. It went above again. It took the liquidity. You saw that was a huge zone of liquidity. And then, bam! That is what I was looking for. They try again. They could not keep the price above the price again in the exactly same zone. And they lost again. But this time I have the huge volume in my favor. I have the break of the pull of the POC. That's what they call in— Point of Control, yeah. Yeah, the POC break. Okay, yeah, yeah. POC break. So I have the POC break and now in my price action I have.
So this is how you execute your trade then?

And this is when I identified this, uh, IFB. Okay. And now I'm getting in with that volume that is breaking again the point of control. So now the point of control is going to act not only as a confirmation but also as protection. Yes, because you saw that every time price Exactly. Every time that the price tried to go there, just went back down. In this case, because, um, in January the price action on NASDAQ has been a bit sketchy. Yeah, I, uh, this time I'm more conservative and I just aim for a 1:2. You see, in Asia that I have more confluence, I have, um Less manipulation. I just let it run, but in this time I have to reevaluate my risk management. And it was an awesome, awesome trade. It went farther down because it was targeting liquidity in the downside, but you can see how it ends in the Bookmap.
Do you know, just before we move on from here, on the Bookmap, So like even just seeing this elevated volume here at the highs, which is up here at the highs, and then seeing no follow-through, even that alone, is that an indication that the buyers haven't got that aggressive nature?
Actually, actually, I have friends— one of my mentors in order flow, he used that. He enters a bit more aggressive than I do because I always use the charts. I'm not only trading in bookmap, I use the chart as well. But he likes to see when he sees big spikes of volume and then there's no follow-through, he gets in the market.
Straight away.
Straight away. Wow. In certain environments.
Of course, we are there.
But that is what you want to see. You want to see that the volume is in your favor. So if I was looking for a sell because the higher timeframe was telling me that it was most likely to be a pullback, I identify an equal lows as a possible liquidity zone. I have the confirmation on the market structure on the secondary structure with the break, with a lot of volume displacement. Everything is aligned. Yeah. That's how you identify high probability trades. And you might see that it's a lot, but all this process—
just the way it looks, isn't it?
And because I'm explaining it like step by step, but all this process happens very systematic, you know. And actually it's kind of boring because that is what it is, you know. It's just a system that you're going to repeat it and repeat again. So that's how my system works. Look what the price ended up doing. Retest again. As I told you, it served as a protection and just went to target that liquidity on the downside. I think in that moment I was already out. Yeah. But you can see that the price did a little, I think, a retest here and then it continues. Look again, the point of control is keep pushing the price down.
Which is an indication that there's more bearish volume.
Exactly.
On average for that. It's pushing. Is it based on the day, the point of control?
Yeah, it's on the session volume profile. Gotcha. And this is interesting because when you understand what is the the volume, the session volume, the volume profile overall. And you see that the point of control, that's one of the most important part of the volume profile, is going down. That means it's recalculating based on the amount of volume that it's getting in the market. And when you see that the volume that is getting in the market in that moment is selling, and you have a bearish scenario on the higher timeframe, you have bearish confirmation.
Should we see, uh, should we see what the chart looked like at that point there? So on that, when it retested the point of control and when it shifted down, this was at 11:44.
11:44 is this one right here. Okay. And this is so amazing because this is a break and retest. This is my last I, I could trade that last one. I, I'm almost certain that if I go to the 5-minute chart, I will have something here that is, um, it's what is having that reaction, and that's why the puck goes down. Let's go to the 5-minute chart. Here's the fair value gap. It's a bit, a bit higher.
You can see this poor resistance through the left, all that.
Yeah, yeah, it's a resistance zone. But I'm pretty sure it was 11:30, then 45. Nah, I missed this one. Let's see. Yeah, yeah, the fair value gap is a bit higher.
No, it's okay. You know, not every trade that sets up is an entry, as we talked about. Yeah, you know, there's criteria, but that's not, as you mentioned yourself, execution. But equally, even though you're not systematic in terms of making an algorithm or having something that is, you know, 100% have to have this, this, and this to execute, you still want to see your model, right? You still want to have your 3-step process of your, you know, higher time frames and secondary, then down into your entry models, and then into the, the Bookmap. So I know the reason I was asking was more so just to see, okay, what does this look like on the chart? Because we had obviously understood it from the Bookmap. But I will say that This is probably the greatest Bookmap dissection that I've seen so far, because now I feel like I understand it for the first time, which is crazy because I've done a lot of order flow. But they haven't specifically done Bookmap. It's like these other tools as well. One question I do get when we have order flow guests on is a lot of people ask about settings. Is there particular settings that you have on your Bookmap, or is it pretty standard?
My setup in the Bookmap is pretty standard. I eliminate a lot of tools that I really don't use. People like to use like the Icebergs. Those are algorithms that identify when the big market participants are dissecting orders, just to, you know, they're constructing a position, but step by step. And you can identify when that is happening. And it's good, but for my strategy is not that useful, you know. Um, also there's people that use the gamma levels. I use the gamma levels in a different way, but in the bookmap is pretty standard. What I like is the session volume profile. This is one thing that I always put over there. I like to see the VWAP. Too. You can go to the settings and configure add-ons. And yeah, the AVWeb, I need it. I really liked it. And the volume. People tend to forget about that kind of volume. And for me, it's really powerful.

As we can see, um, the market is in a very very sketchy conditions right now because if we go to the weekly, as I say, my strategy, one of the main things is the cycles of liquidity. And we can see that on Friday's drop, the price reached an internal range liquidity. So the price went to this weekly fair value gap. You have a confluence with an apex, with a previous resistance level that now is using as support. We can see that the price actually react really, really strong on that level. And now the path is clean to go for the external range liquidity on the upside. So I want to confirm that, and to do that I have to see some kind of confluence on the lower time frames that we are actually going up. Right now, um, the only thing that I, I see is that the price, um, half recover, almost half of the drop. I think it's like a 50% of the drop. Yeah, almost like 60, 50% of the drop is reacting on the golden ratio. Um, this doesn't give me a clear path of where we're gonna go, but I have key levels. And that's one main thing about NASDAQ is, is really an asset that respects key levels, support resistance levels. So here there is a key level that if the price wants to— once if the price wants to go up, it has to close with volume over this critical level, you have to break that level and close above that level. If the price is going down, maybe to make a more, more deep discount of this fractal, of this impulse, the price have to close below that level. So that's, that is a key level that we want to watch for today, this week. And talking about sessions, we have the London high. This was pretty heavy on the open. We got the London high, we got these lows, so Right now I'm looking for two kind of confirmation. If we want to go lower, we have to fail to displace this level, maybe took that liquidity close below that, and look for a signal in Bookmap that the price of the aggressors, sellers aggressors, are gaining more traction. If I want to buy, I, I would love to see the same but failing to displace the lows. That will give me a clear path to buy towards London's highs. Um, so now we just want to wait to see what it's doing right now. If you can see the Bookmap, the price is above the Point of Control and the VWAP. So both the, the point of control and the VWAP are acting as a, as a support level. If you see, uh, the price have been respecting that level. So now we want to see that the price is still respecting that level. This part right here will be really important. Because usually that kind of level with liquidity acts as a support level. So maybe the price can use this as a support level to keep going up towards the London high. We have liquidity in that part. Let's verify that liquidity part is 24,944. 24,944 it is. It have liquidity, you have a small amount of liquidity, 26 contract. Maybe we can see a reaction over there. So for now, it's just waiting. To the open, we want to see reaction with all our levels. For me, the bias is not that clear because we got a big drop on Friday, but that big drop, it just react with internal range liquidity. So that will be a bullish signal, but at the same time, you see that the, the price have displaced all these, all this trend line. So that gives me a bear signal, and a displacement of these lows, it will mean to the price to keep going down. So I have me sexy, not in the bias. I don't like when the price is like this. I like when everything correlates But we can still find an opportunity thanks to Bookmap because we can see the aggressors, we can see the liquidity levels, and see when the institutions are getting in so we can get in with them. As I say, you never try to beat the market, you just learn how to flow with the markets. The price is almost in this place that I was telling you that can be a reaction zone. But still like 8 minutes to the market open, and we want to wait for that market open because we want to avoid that initial volatility. That initial move sometimes is a liquidity inducement or liquidity grab, so I would rather wait to jump in the market, especially when we don't have a clear bias like today. As you see, it's respecting the level, but it's still too early to tell. The CVD is positive right now, but this doesn't say anything. I want to see volume here. Like, right now the CVD is positive, but I'm seeing a lot of, of selling volume. So I don't want to get into buys until I see the aggressors, the buyer aggressors, getting in the market. So right now it's just, uh, stay away, just wait for the moment. Nice aggression right there. Let's see if it holds up. I would love a retest on the VWAP or the point of control. That would be really good, and it will take all these liquidity levels with it. So it's better to buy below this liquidity level. So all the liquidity have been taken and then we can keep going up. Also, we have a negative gamma levels. So that means that the dealers buys when the price goes up and, and sell when the price go down. So this will extend the magnitude of the volatility. This will extend the movement. It will be really aggressive movement. It's very possible to have really aggressive movement today with the market open right now. I want to see Those buyers getting in, they actually respect the VWAP, and that's a good signal. But I don't see a follow-up, follow-through with the buyers in the volume. As you can see, the, the sellers' volume is actually higher than the buyers'. Now, now, now we're talking. We need more aggressors. Yeah, right now the volume is not supporting the buyers, so I'm gonna stay out. If the price displays the lows, then I might be looking for, for sells, but for the moment I'm just waiting and looking, um, what the market, the market really want to do. There's been a POC flip. So here we are at the open and I'm actually looking for buys. Why is that? Because during the Asia session, the price dropped pretty heavy from a key level. I'm going to show you from this key level. And I really think that it's really probable that the price is going to defend this level. So right now, I'm looking the price to get into the gap. The NDOG, this gap over here, maybe from there I can find buys. So everything that I want to do, I want to do based on, on the Bookmap. I want to see aggressors, aggressive buys. Right now I'm seeing more like an accumulation in, in the point of control, so Now it's only wait until we can see a clear pattern or a clear, uh, a clear signal that is telling us like, okay, it's going to buy, it's going to sell. Right now, oh, there's a POC flip. The POC just adjust, um, below the price, so it might get used as a support level. To buy. Right now I don't have any confluence. I can see that the volume, the cumulative volume delta is really bearish. So I don't want to look into buys with this kind of volume This might be a confirmation to a continuation on sales, but in the price action, I'm not seeing anything that I can say like, okay, I like this or not. So I'm just going to wait until something interesting happens. Here we are. Here we are in a low, low volume zone, and the movement tends to be more explosive as the price getting to these zones. We are seeing like the, the price is getting more and more explosive as the price is getting into those, uh, low volume areas. Still, we want to wait. I think the best opportunity we can have it when the price close this gap right here. I'm gonna put this line over here. So I'm waiting, I'm waiting until the gap is filled. And then we can, we can see if the, the buyers get into the game right now. Uh, even though I'm seeing some kind of buying power, um, it's really low in volume. So I want to see more control, you know, from the buyers. And now I'm not seeing that. One of the strategies that I learned from The creators of Bookmap is the trendline break accumulation, so I'm gonna mark this as a possible— it seems pretty close to the open gap, so Let's keep wait. Let's wait, let's wait. Trading is a game of patience. Now just wait until the price comes to you, until you have your opportunity in front of you. Don't try to pressure things. Now it didn't— it don't work like that. So our best weapon as traders is patience. Now I see a nice breakout here. I see pretty nice volume. The price didn't, didn't fill the, the gap completely, but it just retest the 50% of it. If we fail to displace this London low, we might get into— yes, we might get into a trade over here. I want to see buyers coming in. I don't see buyers coming in. That's why No, I'm not seeing buyers. We need more, more buying volume here, and I don't see it. So I don't want to get into a trade. I have my entry model, but I don't have that confirmation. So if we close above this, this level, we might get into buys. But if the price is keep rejecting, I'm just going to wait to— as you see, the price is keep going down. It might go and close the gap. Explosive movement. Toward the low volume area. I tell you, right here there's a low volume area and we see that explosive movement to the downside right there. Like really huge spike of bearish on volume. The bears are in control right now. The There's no way I'm getting into buys right now. And now maybe, now that the gap is closed, we might get into a buy right here if the price goes above this level. Today I am trading with my $200K on Bitrader's funding account. I can have more, a little bit of more space to trade than in my futures account that I have a little less margin to trade from. Sellers are still in control. And that close over there, I'm getting into buys. I get into buys right there. My target is 102. I'm not seeing buyers getting in the— I'm not seeing buyers getting in the game. Like, the volume is growing into sales. So if the price goes within the 50% of my stop loss, I'm gonna close and could Good losses short. I'm gonna mark that 15%. What is this? A little bit of volume there. Let's just be patient. Let's see if the trade plays out. I'm seeing some, I'm seeing some volume, you know, getting in. Um, and that's what I want to see, you know. We have a lot of liquidity, all that passive, um, liquidity accumulation on the upside. So it might go up. Um, my target right now is on the 24, 448 level. So we have, we have liquidity on the 50 $550 level. So that's my target over there. So, vamos a ver cómo nos va en este primer trade en la cuenta. Okay, nice. That was a really nice absorption, but we need— if we want to keep the pacing, like, um, we need buyers getting in right now. I'm not seeing big buyers getting in. In the game. So we need that. We really need that big buyers getting in the game. Right now is basically accumulating. So I might be moving my stop loss to breakeven because I really don't like the volume right now. It didn't let me move. Nice, nice volume right there. It's a really, really nice spike of volume. We need to keep hammering if we want to, to keep the pacing. The, the CVD is, is getting lower. Like, you see, it was from 2,000 negative to 2,700. So if we keep like diminishing this number, it might be a good signal that buyers, aggressive buyers, are getting into the game. A pretty, pretty slow day today. Nice, almost 1:01 right now. I'm gonna protect myself because I don't like the volume right now, so I'm gonna just move my stop loss to breakeven. I need to see more buyers. I don't like that. It's like getting, getting stuck over there. Nice, nice, nice. It's a really nice move. I have almost $1,500 here. See the face. Yeah, I'm going to trail my stuff over here. I'll secure 1000 letters. We are facing a possible apex So I don't want to, I don't want to be greedy. I'm just going to close with this. This is really nice for me. It's $1,300. Let's see, let's see the volume. That last piece of volume, it's getting nice, but we're getting close to the point of control. So I'm just going to close with $1,400. That was pretty amazing for me. So, um, I hope you like how I use the Bookmap and price action as a confirmation to get into a trade. Yeah, that was my kid. He wants to trade too. So thank you very much. See you tomorrow with another example. Good morning. Today is the last day of this series. Today I'm looking for a buy. It's still an overall bullish bias. We have seen the, the price has, uh, respect the trend like real, real, real good on the 4 hours. It's respecting, you know, this, um, this trend inside the, the range. So I'm looking to buy, um, minimum to the previous daily high. I would love to see a distribution over this zone, but I know that this zone and this zone will be key levels and the price might go lower. So I'm just looking for a nice buy setup if the price confirms with the volume and the order flow. I will take a scalp at the open. What I want to see, I want to see, um, sellers volume getting in. Right now, if you, if you can see, the volume delta is really low. Even though it's positive, it's not the best for a buy right now. Um, so I want to see buyers getting in the price. I want to see the aggressors flipping the puck and then using it as a support to buy higher. I see that there's some nice levels of liquidity on the upper side, but that doesn't mean that the price cannot sweep the, the seller side first. So I'm just going to wait until everything is aligned. So this is one of the things that I like the most about Bookmap is that it gives me the perspective of what the market is really doing in real time. So I don't have to guess. You see the open, I want to see a nice POC flip. If the buyers volume doesn't come in, I will just wait until— see, now we are seeing something. I want to see back up. CVD is still negative, so let's just wait a little bit more. As I say, the price went to that buyer side liquidity like really, really fast. Let's see if it continues. One of my entry models is break and retest. So if we can see a nice breakout, we can take a continuation towards the upper side liquidity. Okay, now this is happening. Look at this. Right here, we have a big order. Maybe it's a real order, but what I have seen in my experience, this might be a spoof. It's something that is put in there just to attract or reject the price, but it's the height. You see, they just, um, took it out before even the price went there. So maybe this was some kind of inducement right there. We've seen a really nice, nice breakout, so let's see if the price gives us a continuation. Continuation setups are really, really nice. Really nice setup. It also might fail to displace the previous daily high. So I have to watch out. I don't want to get caught in the middle of a counter volume. So right now the price hasn't given me anything yet because I see a fair value gap here, but it hasn't inverted it yet. As you can see, the price has rejected this zone, so I cannot say that like this is an AFV. But at the same time, we have the previous daily high on the upper side. So I don't know. The point of control is below the zone. You don't want to sell towards the point of control. It's like suicide. One interesting thing is that tomorrow is OPEX Friday. So I was expecting the price to sell maybe to this area, maybe to this BPR area, and then buy like real strong. But I don't see any intent right now. I don't— I can figure out what they want. So let's just wait. This is the most powerful tool that the traders have, is patience. We see a POC recalculation. That means that the volume is really heavy right here. Right now we see a POC flip. Let's see what happens. I'm gonna— I really don't trust any movement right here. We have plenty of liquidity on the upper side, so just wait. Nice volume there. That's nice, really nice volume there. Now the price is encountering the, the VWAP. So we are going to get into a low risk, low volume zone, so we might see explosive movement if it goes to the downside, to this area, because we are still in a high volume area. It took some liquidity there. If it rejects the VWAP and invert me this with nice volume, I might take a buy here. But I don't see, I don't see any buying volume right now. Let's see, we need strong, strong buying volume right now. I don't like how the CVD and the volume are behaving. I entered a buy position here. If it keeps respecting the point of control, we're just fine. But if it breaks below, it might be a closing signal. So I'm going to be like real— there's nice liquidity on the upper side. So this might be a good trade. And there's a low volume area. So if the price goes to that area, we might see like more explosive movement. The only thing that I don't like right now is the volume. It's really low. That's not good. You want to see nice volume. Buying volume. Go, go, go! That's what I want to see, explosive movement to the liquidity. I don't see support on the buying side. Buyers, we need buyers, we need buyers. Let's go, let's go. I'm going to protect this order, so I'm moving my stop loss to breakeven. Confirm. And let's wait for it. I might trade this trade. It's getting real close to the previous daily low, I think. Oh, it already took it. Yeah, yeah, we have to be really careful here. If we do an inversion, we might close this trade. Yeah, we need buyers right now. We need buyers. If it close like this, this is a recent close, so it's, it's having a lot of volume. So yeah. I'm going to close this. Yeah, it took the previous daily high and it inverted. So it's almost like a fail to this place. Yeah, it might go lower now. So let's see if it gives us an opportunity to sell. This is a change in state of delivery right here. It's not giving us the entry.
Ah.
Yo, go back. What are you doing? The first buy was a real nice entry, but that previous daily high was a really, really strong resistance we have seen in the past. That's why when I saw the reason to close, I just closed it, you know. I'm not gonna, I'm not gonna risk it, you know. A POC retest will be really nice. It's not that clear, the point of control just basically recalibrates here, but I don't see like selling volume getting in. So I don't know. Let's just wait. It's kind of crazy, but Like in the last few days, Asia has behaved more, more clear and structural than, than the New Year session. The New Year session has been a mess lately. Like right now it's just a piano on 5 minutes. The piano, look, Beethoven-esque. If we want to sell here, we need volume. Like, we need volume for real, and I, I'm not seeing volume right now. Okay. Okay, nice, nice. If I'm going to take that, that risk, yeah, of course, why not? Come on, behave, behave. What you're doing right now, I'm trading with my, um, PIP Traders Farm 200K funded account. So even a low risk represents like a real nice gain. So I might protect this. I want to see the price going below the point of control. I don't like the price using the point of control as a support, so this might be a sign to close this early. Let's give it some time, but I really don't like this. Whoa, I don't like this. You see that? Usually when that happens, that's a new algorithm that have entered the market, and usually when that happens, there's a big manipulation coming. Right now it's 10 AM, is the macro opening, so we have to be really, really careful right now. I'm ready to close it if I see volume against me. Really ready, bro. Give me this trade. I just want to finish this series. Give me this. As soon as the price goes below the VWAP, we might see more expansive movement. But for now, if it stays right there, it's like compressed in between the point of control and the VWAP. And that's not good for you. That's not good at all. TD 4-hour candle. No, I don't like this. Okay, the price went below the VWAP. That's a good signal. Let's see if it getting some volume there. It's going to this area of low volume. We might see more explosive movement if we go below this area to this low volume area. But these are not good market conditions. I'm just going to protect myself. No, I don't want to be I still burn or nothing. I will be just fine with a breakeven today. So I can have a breakeven or I can have— yeah, I think I will have a breakeven. Sketchy market conditions. The piano, piano Thursdays. So I was going to take like one more entry, but I don't know, like, you know, the price is still in the same area. It hasn't invalidate my entry point, but it doesn't have all my confirmation aligned, so it's okay. Now, one of the things that is powerful about the Bookmap is it not only gives you, like, the signal when you have a good trade, it also tells you when to close one. It gives you reason to close. Right now, even though I closed that, it hasn't invalidated my trade idea, but I'm just not going to risk it in these market conditions. So I think it was a good trade though. A good trade management. Let's wait a few minutes to see if the price decides to do something. If not, we can close for the day. I'm saying, Riz, I'm telling to my student that the last day of the series and NASDAQ just decide to do a piano session with us today. When the price do this kind of movement, like what I— one of the things that I don't like about this and why I moved to breakeven is even though I have the ODT on the downside and in my go lower, this accumulation can make the conditions to just have a liquidity trap, a manipulation higher, and then you see the real movement to the downside. So that's why I'm going to wait a few more minutes. If I don't see anything clear, I'm just going to call it for the day. It was real good because we did— actually, We won $100. We are $100 up. That's the power of knowing when to take profits. Tenemos 100 pesitos, nos fuimos hoy. Súper. Ahora se va. Miren el volumen, look at the volume right now. Let's see if it gives us a continuation. So tiene que romper ese soporte. Have to break that support level. It's a really strong support level right now. That's my setup for continuations. Let's see if in 1 minute We still have the opportunity. I'm going to take the risk, I think. Nakisha, what are you doing? Uh-oh, that's not good. Pretty strong buying volume. That's not good at all. That wasn't a good trade. So now I'm gonna, I'm, I'm gonna call it a day. Now we lost $400, so it's okay. I think we lost a little bit more than, than $400. 2.9. Now I'm calling it a day. I'm just gonna— I'm gonna be done with this. The price doesn't know what to do.
Well everyone, that wraps us up for today's episode. What an incredible breakdown of not only the Bookmap but how to utilize ICT concepts with the Bookmap using order flow so that you can actually have really precise entries, confidence in the markets. And not only that, what was really great was to see you know, that top-down approach. You know, a lot of people always focus on entries, but to actually see how do we get there and how do we build our trading in a full and proper manner was amazing to see. Now, if you want to check out Abraham, his links are in the description below. Make sure you go check him out as well in the Chart Fanatics Discord and Chart Fanatics Live. But he trades live on Chart Fanatics Live every single Wednesday, so you can check him out and communicate with him whilst he's trading live and see him do this, because I've seen him do it. I've seen him take a 30-second timeframe trade and achieve a 1:5 in like 3-4 minutes, which blew me away. And that was during a trading competition that was going on in the prop firm space as well, which he placed really incredibly highly across tens of thousands of traders. So it's an absolute honor to have Abraham with us. Links in the description. Drop a comment with your biggest takeaway from this episode. Any questions I may have missed or any questions for Abraham, throw them in there and we'll check them out. But other episodes are on screen right now.
