Kardec Trader (YouTube, Mar 12, 2024) delivers a critical monologue arguing that most trading content on social media is misleading or ineffective. The speaker asserts that common indicator-based strategies (e.g., RSI, MACD crossovers) are not real edges, cautions that short backtests (weeks or months) are insufficient and calls for understanding what one is trading rather than relying on simple indicators.

99% of the stuff that we see on social media and the way people trade, in my personal opinion, is nonsense. I don't think it works. I don't think it's real. I think complicated. You need to understand what you're trading. You need to understand what's your edge. Your edge in my opinion can't be a RSI MACD crossover. That's just my opinion. Right. You can't back test that ever and show me that it works. And if it does and someone says that's my strategy, well, I want to see a five year piano, not a month piano, not a week piano. Right. Those things don't work. They're not in my opinion real indications of working. But that also sells and I understand from a marketing point why people do it because people are lazy. They want an indicator to tell them when to get in, when to get out. Most traders that enter, you know, chase that, which I get and you have to go through that, I guess burn initially. But all that stuff, in my opinion, it doesn't work, it's not real.
