One of the main reasons that traders have a difficult time becoming profitable is that they don't have an edge. Any trader that enters the market, you have to identify what is your edge, what are your setups, what is your playbook, what is basically the strategy you are taking into the market, and how does that strategy actually make sense? Most traders, when they enter the market, they have no strategy. Even if they do have a strategy, the strategy actually isn't good. So what you have to do is you have to make sure you backtest the strategy. It will require a lot of trades to be entered to see when it works, when it doesn't work. So it becomes a trial and error situation over a long course of time.
